Timo, thank you. I checked it out and the same problem exists on PirateShip. But the good thing was someone there was able to help me. Here is what they said:
ME: Are you aware of any issues with Parcel Select Rates?
PIRATE SHIP: Only for large packages – back on June 23rd USPS updated how they charge for packages over a cubic foot (12X12X12″), but that’s the only recent change to Parcel Select rates
ME: Thank you. What I am noticing is that Parcel Select is now VERY expensive. I can get better rates from RETAIL GROUND or FedEx Home. Is that what you noticed as well?
PIRATE SHIP: Yup! In an effort to drive people to the Post Office, and to keep their mail carriers from trying to pickup large packages during their routes, USPS currently isn’t charging Dimensional Weight prices (the extra charge for large packages) on retail ground. All other services are still affected, but we’ve definitely been pointing people towards the Post Office if they’re shipping large, light packages. The FedEx one I wasn’t aware of though!
ME: Wow! That is crazy.
PIRATE SHIP: I know! And the worst part is that USPS didn’t advertise how they were handling this at all, so we ended up with a lot of confused customers!
ME: Wow! I am having to go through all my Ebay listings and changing from Parcel Select to Retail Ground, what a PAIN IN THE BOOTY.
PIRATE SHIP: I’m so sorry about that, Captain! I wish we could help out there 🙈 Took us a couple weeks to figure it out, and we had the whole crew looking!

Parcel select rates are either wrong or they went up by 2x or 3x. I always list PARCEL SELECT with dimensions items that are larger than 12 x 12 x 12.
Retail Ground is now about 50% LESS than Parcel Select — but Retail Ground can only be purchased in person at the post office or if you have Stamps.com or something like that.
I called Ebay this morning, finally after about 45 minutes and asking for a supervisor, they said that they had issues a couple of weeks ago with Parcel Select rates being wrong. The rep says the issues have been resolved.
So that basically means to that for larger items, if I want lower rates, I have to list Retail Ground and I have to go to the post office to pay. And it means that I have to go through all my listings and edit the shipping options for the larger items.
Or if Parcel Select is actually wrong, and if they fix it, we will be back to normal.
What I don’t understand is WHY they have Retail Ground as an option in the listing but don’t offer that as a shipping option when it is time to purchase postage.
My assumption is that Parcel Select was supposed to be the solution or the replacement to Retail Ground…. I don’t know, it makes my head spin.

30 minutes on the phone with Ebay. The person I am talking to cannot understand what I am telling them.
I know peanuts are not environmentally friendly but I get them gently used (so I am recycling) and they work great! They really hold things together so they are not sloshing around.
I have shipped a lot of breakables by simply making sure they well packed in ample peanuts with space or dividers between the items so they are not bumping each other. If needed I box the item(s) first and then use peanuts.
Recently I shipped a set of 250.00 crystal cups by simply boxing each one and then using peanuts.
I shipped six 11 x 13 framed prints (with glass) by taping the glass with blue tap, then wrapping each print in cardboard and then using peanuts between each item. Buyer said, “BEST packing on eBay! Coulda launched that baby into outer space!”
And of course I send a prayer up with each shipment that all will be well!

But for such a low profit margin why would you bother? There are several other ebay sellers with an even lower cost for same mailbox. Crazy!

Thank you for your reply, and thank you for asking Lisa. Her input would be amazing. Are these photos enough?
Thank you again, Mike. I am so thankful to know you and everyone else here.

I saw some Ukrainian needlepoint in my research that looks somewhat similar. Nothing exactly like this but definitely similar.
Thank you again! This is why I love this group. It is safe to ask questions and people are very generous with their time and their help.
Jay, exactly! You understood me completely.
Jay, I totally get what you mean. What I was trying to do is find a name for this thingamajig. I did not know what to put in the title. I figured someone might know what this type of piece would be called so I could at the very least say it in the listing. I assume it is not useful for its original purpose at this point.
In the end I titled my listing: “Industrial Metal Machine Parts Steampunk Art Industrial Decor Repurpose.” And I put Bushing and Pillow Block in the item specifics.
I am going with the Ryanne method of listing all the little bits and pieces and crossing my fingers that this works!
Might be. There are three wheels all together. I don’t know if one was extra or if all three were in use.
Jay, it came from a band saw that I never saw. The silver piece was attached to the wheel. I had it removed by cutting it off. The guy that sold it to me told me it was from a band saw, otherwise I would not have known.
Thank you that is very helpful. I can see what you mean when I google pillow block. I will put both the key words in the listing and see what happens!
