Last year when I did the program, I asked Ryan what they make, this is what he told me on his answer back:
“…$750k is gross, but that is from 1 ebay account and wholesale deals to other resellers. We are well over a million from all avenues and our net is about 55% across the board”
Hi Jay,
I am in Los Angeles and there are flakes on FB as well as CL. I just sold a computer on FB. Two people stood me up in the process. The third guy was a super cute young man that wanted to donate the computer to a charity after he bought it from me. The window sale was great, she came she loved it she paid. The tool box too was great, he came he loved it and he sent me a picture of what he did with it (he made it into an amazing plant box.)
I have yet to try selling on CL but I have given away stuff for free when I needed to purge. I always demand a cell phone or I won’t answer and then I continue with texts from there on out. So far except once, everyone has been super cool.
For selling I just found it easier to post on FB and to answer questions quickly through messenger either by phone or on the desk top, rather than email back and forth.
I am looking on FB now to see what is in Luray. I see lots of people selling stuff in a 10 mile radius.
I took a screen shot for you:
Before. I did not know about them selling wholesale lots to students.
I don’t understand the question…
For me FB is cleaner and easier to use. But if you are used to Craigslist then you might think differently.
Yup! 110K a year. They send you a bunch of their videos and you are able to send emails with questions. The answers are not full and and not complete and I had to query the answers several times to make sure I had a complete understanding.
By definition, mentoring should include someone who is interested in your progress and success. That is my definition for it. I was never contacted as to how I was doing and what help I need. And when I did ask for help, it was very rushed and incomplete.
Maybe someone else has a different experience but that was mine.
They are good people, no doubt but not my type of mentoring.
I paid for their mentor program. I was VERY disappointed. I felt that it was a huge money maker for them but not helpful at all to me. I was particularly interested in the wholesale side of things since I already know how to shop in thrift stores and yard sales. I was told that I would learn about wholesale.
It still bites when I think about the fact that I spent the money on it. They make it look so easy but it is REALLY REALLY hard and they don’t tell you how amazingly difficult it is to find the kind of wholesale they are promoting in their videos, nor how much more you need to know that is NOT in their mentoring.
There is no doubt that they are raking it in, they purchased property last year and they plan to build their warehouse and have rentals. They show their number for just ONE of their stores and it is making a lot of money. They have a couple of other Amazon/Ebay stores that they don’t promote for obvious reasons.
Good for them for making a killing. They sell their mentor program to about 75 people at a time at about 375.00/person and they do it 4 times a year. That alone is a great income not mentioning their stores and wholesale sales.
Understood. Thank you for explaining.
Steve, I was wondering if there is a way for me to watch your what sold videos directly on youtube. I can see Ryanne’s old what sold videos directly on youtube, but I cannot find yours that way. Are they hidden?
Steves Stuff: I recommend that next time this happens, check out FedEx Home Deliver and see if the shipping rate compares to Retail Ground. You still would have to drop it off at a FedEx drop off location, but you can purchase the shipping on Ebay.

Thank you for doing them every single week!
RockiesFan: You are very welcome. So glad that was helpful.
I am in the same boat you are in. I don’t have business policies and I have no clue how to use them.
I too provide both Ground and Priority on my listings where the package is MORE than 12 x 12 x 12. Ground is my PRIMARY option that shows up first on my listings IF the size is over 12 x 12 x 12. Because that is what buyers see first, I want to put my best foot forward by offering RETAIL GROUND as a primary option.
Right now, I am going one by one on my 1100 listings and changing the oversized ones that I know are bigger than a 12 x 12 x 12 package from Parcel Select to RETAIL GROUND.
Just an extra note: the reason this came to my attention is that three times in the last few weeks buyers asked why the shipping was so high. Buyers are sensitive to high shipping costs and I believe that it could prevent a sale if they shipping fee looks stupidly high.
Jay, thank you for mentioning this issue on the podcast. I can see that I need to do a better job at making this make sense — hard to do since it is very confusing.
1. Parcel Select rates have DOUBLED for large, low weight packages. This is NEW.
2. Retail Ground is now the CHEAPEST way to ship though USPS.
3. Ebay provides Retail Ground Option on listings for the buyer but not to sellers for purchase.
4. Retail Ground can only be purchased at USPS in person.
5. FedEx home delivery is about the same as Retail Ground and can be purchased on line.
6. If you have items with Parcel Select as the primary option, zone 9 buyers (farthest away from you) will see a very expensive shipping rate.I hope that helps.
I have a return that started today and it give the buyer until the 19th which is 5 business days (does not include the weekend).
