Thank you Steven, BIG help. I did see that article on Jedi or something like that. I submitted a question on the site but got no reply. But your information was super helpful and I appreciate it.

Mike, thank you for the advice… you are too funny. I think I might take the more direct approach as I tend to blush and stammer when I try to fake it.
Hi Steven,
Thank you very much for the feedback and advise.
I am in Los Angeles. Looking on line now and I see a luthier shop not too far.
The guitar comes with its case. Do you box the case when you ship? I assume you would so as not to damage the case.
What is your guess as to cost of restringing the guitar? I will call the shop but just wanted to see if you had an idea.
Thanks again for all the excellent advice.

Mike, thank you as always for the excellent feedback. Very helpful and greatly appreciated.
There is a website called reverb.com that has a lot of good info. The model number is the part that is difficult to understand. There is not a clear system that I can tell.

That is great! So many ways to recycle and share. As Jay says often, imagine if we all were scavengers, what little waste there would be.
I don’t have the answer but I sold something similar a long while back. It was a toothbrush or toothpick holder. It sold after a long time for $20.00
Lamp base?
Thank you, HistoryNerd!
Thank you, Jay!I greatly appreciate the help.
And the drama continues!
This is complicated but hopefully I can make it simple:
1. USPS Retail Ground (cheapest rate) is only available for zones 5-9. (Note: You can only buy Retail Ground at the Post office — not on Ebay even though Ebay offers it as an option.)
2. BUT Ebay does NOT exclude zones 1-4 in retail ground shipping for buyers.
3. That means that anyone in zones 1-4 can purchase Retail Ground shipping but as a seller you don’t get those rates from USPS. You will have to purchase more expensive shipping for zones 1-4.
4. This means that buyers in zones 1-4 will underpay for shipping and you have to eat it.
5. So bottom line it means that I cannot offer Retail Ground to ANYONE! This really sucks big time because buyers in zones 5-9 will now see much higher shipping rates.

Ebay says that the new sales tax issue does not effect those sellers in Managed Payments. However they also say…
“We currently do not support the Global Shipping Program for sellers who are participating in managed payments. However, all non-US buyers can shop and pay on eBay.com as they do today. If they are buying from a seller who has opted into managed payments, the non-US buyer can pay using credit or debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.) and the seller would ship internationally on their own.”
And I contacted Ebay. I was referred to the Seller Hub for this announcement:

Last Edited 10-01-2019 02:53:23 PMAs you may be aware, 11 new states have adopted Internet Sales Tax policies as of October 1, bringing the total to 34 states that now require the collection of sales tax. As the impact of this tax law becomes more apparent, PayPal and eBay are making changes that will make Internet Sales Tax collection less complex for buyers and for you.
Starting in November 2019, the way taxable transactions are processed and how taxes are collected for remittance will change, as follows:
In states where eBay is required to collect Internet Sales Tax from buyers, order totals sent for processing will reflect the gross order amount inclusive of tax.
Once settled, the tax amount will be automatically deducted for remittance to the applicable taxing authority.
A record of the sales tax portion of the order will be available on the Seller Hub Order details page and through our Download order report.
Please note the applicable tax will continue to be paid by the buyer and you do not need to take any action.
We understand that the holiday selling season is nearly upon us and we are working to make this transition as smooth as possible.
Learn more about Internet Sales Tax in the eBay Seller Center. If you have questions about how Internet Sales Tax may affect you, we recommend consulting with your tax advisor, or our partners Avalara and TaxJar.
Note: These changes do not apply to sellers in managed payments.
As always, thank you for selling on eBay.
I contacted PayPal and they said:
ME: Jessica, the way PayPal has handled the sales tax situation has thrown a wrench into my accounting system. And I am not the only one. Others are having to deal with this crazy way that PayPal and Ebay have made this really awkward.
PAYPAL: This is not us, this is completely eBay, they are the ones dictating how the amount is coming out of your account so we do not have a way to effect how they are processing the amount.
So I can put your feedback forward but only eBay are the ones that can effect this in anyway.
ME: Do you have anything in writing that is issued by PayPal that explains this situation?
PAYPAL: We do not because this was not a change made by us, it was all through eBay.
This is so not cool. I just saw this myself on my accounts and I came on here to see who else had anything to say about it. Wow! My software is pulling down all the data and I am still trying to figure out what goes where.

Thank you for taking a minute to give your feedback. I really appreciate your input.
1. I don’t know quantity but it is about 3 x medium size flat rate box. That was the estimated volume.
2. Yes, I saw some silver sales and I agree that the silver can easily be sold on Ebay.
3. Yes, agreed. Her husband was not a professional collector and I advised my relative that we could just bundle the coins and sell them as a lot or as you say, get the melt value on them.Thank you for the link, I appreciate that very much. I will pass it on.
As always, Jay, I am forever grateful for all your help.
