Caches over the last 1 1/2 years..
Box of Hot Wheels cars, cases, tracks etc.. paid $80. After many listings sold for about $750..
Small box of electrical parts.. $10 at yard sale.. over $350 in sales.
Box of over 50 assorted shot glasses.. Paid $5 at yard sale.. sold over $450 after many listings..
Box of 5 very old Whiskey bottles.. paid $7.. sold $550.
Recently bought a bunch of books for $12 at a box lot auction… so far over $400 in sales..
I bought over 500 sewing patterns for $30.. so far $0.. still have to figure this one out.
It sure does keep it interesting.
I would recommend ordering some Flat Rate Padded envelopes and improvising.
Yep..8:45 PM Pacific Ebay shut down the USPS labels. I was hoping to sneak in a couple of packages before the increase. At least I’ll know what the new rates are. All Media Mail packages.
If I have an unpaid item, a non payment case automatically opens in 4 days. I send no correspondence and let the system play itself out. I don’t think a buyer can get too angry if I open a case in 4 days. It’s amazing how often they pay right after getting the notification from Ebay.
If you really want the feedback removed, you will most likely need to reach out to the customer and offer a refund. Then once you issued the refund, you’ll need to send them a very nice apologetic note and a request that they revise the feedback.
There is no guarantee that either will work.
Good Luck.
I generally take pictures of the front and back. Then the spine and at least one picture of the page side with the book closed, Title page and the page with copyright/publication date. Take pictures of any obvious damage. A lot of people like to see the first/last page to show damage or lack there of. If it has a dust cover, I take a picture of the cover, with the dust cover removed. If you have any shots left, try to get sample pictures of random pages. It’s nice to get pages with diagrams or pictures on them.
If it’s a lot try to take as many pictures as possible with multiple books in them.
Yes Mike, but there used to be one.
Great link Jay.
My grandmother used to keep canned food in the basement. Some of it had to be 10 years or older. Back then there were no dates to worry about.
Do you have one of those cat towers/platforms for her. Cats like these because they can be up high and have their own space. You may want to get one of these. I see people giving them away all the time.
The retail price for First Class at 1 LB is like $6.45. That’s the amount that would show up in your listing. We are being charge $3.65 from USPS. In other words this gives us a nice discount.
Could that be what you are looking at ?.
01/16/2017 at 2:04 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 293: How To Hire Your First Employee #10384Hi Guys,
I just listened to the podcast. You inquired about “sell similar/sell one like this”.
If you hit “sell similar” from one of your items, everything is copied including pictures.
If you hit “sell one like this” from someone else’s listing, the title is copied as well as the category and the item specifics. The pictures and description do not get copied. Of course that doesn’t stop someone from doing a copy and paste on them. I don’t believe the shipping information is copied either.
01/15/2017 at 10:48 pm in reply to: Ability to print Shipping Label and Packing List on one page #10381As far as wasting paper, I print a packing slip and cut off the other half of the paper to use as another packing slip. One sheet gets me two packing slips.
Of course, it may be a more convenient to print them on one sheet.
I completely agree Mike. I had planned on making the transition to the 2500 store, when I hit 1500 listings. Paying 10 cents a listing per month, really makes you think twice about listing certain items.
As the saying goes.. “No good deed is left unpunished.”
You’ve done all you could do to remedy the problem and still got the negative. The bottom line is that the item arrived defective. Clearly the buyer had the right to return it. This is a risk we take whenever an item is returned. This is not being disputed by anyone.
Not all buyers fully understand how serious it is to leave a negative feedback. If it matters, send them a nice apologetic note and request a revision. Based on the comment they left, they may agree to a revision. You never know unless you try, but don’t send the note until you’ve had time to cool off.
I had a buyer agree in a message to revise the feedback, but were having problems with the procedures. I contacted Ebay and they said the only way it could be revised, was by the buyer in an official request. Eventually the buyer figured it out and it was removed.
After all the hassle, I decided I really didn’t care anymore. One negative feedback is just one feedback.
Good luck with it.
You may want to run searches on some of your items and see what your competition is charging to ship.
I have very few items listed with Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes.
1st Class, Priority Mail Calculated, Priority Mail, Flat Rate Padded Envelope, Fedex Smartpost and USPS Media Mail is generally what I use. Don’t forget, you can also put more than one shipping option on each listing.
Good Luck.
