Top rated seller has other benefits besides the discount and does not require next day shipping.
Even if I change my handling time, I still think it’s worthwhile to maintain my TRS status.
What an interesting post.
Had you said, you made a mistake , like a typo in your listing. my answer may be different.
The fact is you listed it too low, because you didn’t do your proper research.. or did the research but didn’t find the comps.
Education is rarely without cost and the same can be said for integrity.
Good Luck with your decision.
I called Ebay awhile back regarding a Smartpost listing that was purchased by someone with a P.O. Box.
I was told by the Ebay representative that they prevent it because they have been having issues with those deliveries. The only way he would assist me is to suggest I send it another way.
Who knows what the real reason is. I agree that the system should not allow someone with a P.O. Box to choose Smartpost as a shipping method.
I have used the work around with success.. Thanks
Well I was on the challenge for a while..
Some may have noticed on another post that I recently bought about 20 boxes of NOS Hats, shirts and jackets. The death piles are much better organized, but, now I have Boxes and Boxes of NOS clothing death piles.
My main concern is listing. I need more revenue and I need to list. I’ve come up with a simple plan.. list 10 items a day…Every Single Day. Even with sales considered, that will give me at least an increase of 200 listings a month.
I need a workable solution and I think this is it. Some days I may list more than 10 and that is fine.. but 10 has to happen every day. That is my new pledge.. 10 listings a day.
I’ve got the clothing and a cache (hoard) of sewing patterns which need to go. I’ve also got a bunch of record albums and posters… There is really no excuse to not list my 10 a day.
I’ve also found that I need to scavenge at least once a week to keep my sanity and to grab the low hanging fruit…
Today I went to an estate sale and bought 5 or 6 items for $2 total.. when I was done listing them the total was $601. We’ll see what sells.. If I get half the $601, I’ll be a happy guy.
I love this country..
I’m glad to hear that we are all thinking along the same lines.
I like Ryanne’s response. “sorry, we don’t break up lots.” It’s short, direct and really doesn’t require any more explanation.
Thanks…
Be sure to research red phones before listing. They tend to sell for more than the typical beige or black ones.. Nice Find.
I agree with Ryanne. It’s definitely worth a shot, especially if you can show it was shipped within your handling time.
It sounds like the buyer doesn’t really understand the process… or was so mad he just didn’t really care. Either way, you don’t deserve the neutral feedback.
Good Luck.
They have sold a lot of them. How can a feedback score of 42 have generated so many sales? is nobody leaving feedback..? Interesting item for sure. Great post.

So Cal Joe.
The sale needs to be made through Ebay, but the payment does not need to be Paypal.
Make sure your buyer makes the purchase through Ebay.
Have him send the money order (I always insist on USPS.)
When you get it cash it right away, then you can send him his item, same as always.
Be sure to mark as paid on Ebay, after you have cashed the money order.
When I look in the tape door, everything seems bright and shiny. For what it’s worth, there was a cardboard insert in it from the factory that keeps the door open during transit.
There is a headphone jack and each record meter also has a headphone jack. It is the larger size of course. I’ll have to look and find one of those. I may have one in my boxes. That’s a great place to start.
Outside of the usual Play/Record buttons there is a switch indicating various stop/eject options. That’s it for switches.
Except for some minor discoloration, this unit looks brand new and I believe has never been used. I will post again when I know more.
Thank you for the response Steven. I was hoping you would see this thread.
02/21/2017 at 4:01 pm in reply to: What kind of margins to look for with intent to sell eBay mostly? #13003On long tail items, I try to keep my cost of good sold at 10% – 15% of selling price. Hopefully selling and listing are 15% or so. Try to break even on shipping and fees, Then, if you’re lucky, you will keep about 70% – 75% of your selling price.
It all sounds good on paper…
You can always wrap it in brown paper.
Based on the size, FEDEX Ground may save you a lot. Also Printing your label through Ebay generates pretty good discounts through most of the carriers.
Length X Width X Height needs to be 1728 or less, otherwise it’s oversize for USPS.
I appreciate the advice.
I’m going to start with the jackets and sweatshirts. I figure, I’ll list the oldest more vintage stuff first.
Depending on the distance, you may want to go with FEDEX Ground.
You also may want to put the original box inside another padded box. The mainstream mail can be pretty rough on an item.
Don’t forget insurance.. Good Luck.
Shipping to California is $13.71 ? That seems way too cheap.
