My screen shows it as paid and Ebay verifies this, but the buyer is still being told to pay for the item.
I’m not exactly sure what the check mark is, but I Googled it and it said “Checkout not complete.”
I don’t think I have any control over the check mark.
I heard back from the buyer and he’s not real stressed about it, so I’m just going to let it go. It may be some kind of a glitch in the system.
I have to remember that some of the Customer service reps are new and may not be able to resolve each issue. It was busy yesterday and took over 30 minutes to talk to the first one available and I didn’t have to time or patience to call back.
I think you may be putting the cart ahead of the horse…
Have you contacted the Post Office. I think that should be your first move. Find out why the package was delivered there. With the bad weather there may be a sensible reason. I would pursue this before you get in any other discussions with your buyer. after all, the P.O. Box is in a Post Office.
Once you have that information, you can pursue the matter further.
As to who is responsible for refunds, that question may be unnecessary. These matters need to be handled one step at a time. This is part of the cost of doing business and sometimes the cost is your time and a little of your sanity.
Hang in there..
I wish I was a contractor…. I do not have those skills and right now do not have the funds.
I’ve been looking around and $50 to $60 a night is not out of the question for my area. Most places don’t have open dates until next week, so that’s a good sign.
I’m going to explore this option some more.
Ebay is not generating the income I had hoped for yet. I signed up for Lyft and tried it out. For the time involved it just makes no sense for me. Too many $3.50 rides.
Thanks again… JOE
Thanks for the responses.
I wasn’t thinking Airbnb. I’ve listened to your other podcast, so I’m aware of what you guys are up to. Now I’m thinking, I should give it more consideration.
I actually live just south of Los Angeles, 1 mile from the airport, 2 miles from a major university and 3 miles from the beach. The location is very good for a short term rental.
The issue is more on the house I live in. It is older and dated. The kitchen and bathroom are somewhat worn, but fine for me and everything works.
What are the expectations of the people who stay. I understand it should be clean and safe.
I know this is probable more suitable for your other site, but the forums are just so much more convenient than a blog.
I can rent out one room and possibly two. It’s a two bedroom house, which means I would have to be creative, but isn’t that was being a scavenger is all about.
Thanks
Cool Link.. Thanks.
Thanks.. I wish I could say my sales were also up.. February was a train wreck.
I’ve got about 80 listings with the hats shirts etc.. 2 sales.. $42 so far.
This month has been better.. listing every day seems to be helping.
FREE BOXES…
http://imgur.com/a/4CswBI was walking to FEDEX today and found these sitting next to a dumpster.. so I quickly went home To get the ** SCAVENGER-MOBILE ** and backed it up. they are all 4 X 4 X 8 inches.. not the best size, but I’ll put them to good use.
Holly Hobbit? That’s just a guess..
When you go outside is the dog on a leash? With my dog, I’ll sometimes put on her leash, even in the back yard, when I want her to go. It seems to work for me.
I bought a box lot last year that included many many old Radio parts. I sold the NOS items on their own, but would take the various “junk” parts and group them into like lots of capacitors etc.
Each listing would be shipped in a flat rate padded envelope.. $20 here.. $30 there. I was very surprised.
It is amazing, but It’s almost all been sold.
I frequently will end up with an old appliance from the 60’s or 70’s. It might be an electric frying pan or a warming plate. Often times the power cord will sell for almost the entire resale value of the appliance and ship very easily.
I recently has a thermos that just wasn’t worth selling, due to the weight. The stopper and cup sold easily and shipped cheaply.
I’ll also sell the pieces from a scrabble set, especially if there are some missing.
In the early days of Ebay, I sold used vintage motorcycle parts. The bikes were plentiful here in southern California and they were hurting for the parts on the east coast and in Europe. Those were the days.
Speak of the devil and is she comes…
I checked my seller dashboard and I had four late shipments for the President’s day holiday sales…
All for late shipments.. Validation of tracking…
I shipped them all on time.
I called Ebay and informed them that I have no control over the Post Office Scanning procedures. I inquired as to whether it would be beneficial to change my handling time.
They checked all four and said they would remove the defects.
Her guess was that it was a fluke based on the Holiday weekend and she was not aware of any policy changes…
CHECK YOU SELLER DASHBOARD.. Lesson learned by me..
03/08/2017 at 10:43 am in reply to: Missed it by thhhaaatttt much! (missed out on sourcing opportunity) #14081I was at a yard sale once and saw a pair of cool sunglasses for 50 cents. Another guy was looking at them, trying them on and asking his wife,, blah blah blah. I waited waited waited.. went next door and came back waiting for him to decide.
When he finally put them down and walked toward the front of the yard, I scooped them up and paid the lady. She was laughing. I guess the other guy didn’t realize he wanted them until I bought them.
You can’t spend too much time worrying about the ones that get away.. you may miss the one sitting right in front of you..
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I went through a similar issue a while back, because my carrier wasn’t scanning all of the pickups. It turned out to be a whole lot about nothing.
Most buyers aren’t paying attention to their deliveries and aren’t concerned. For the occasional buyer who messages me, I send a friendly message explaining the procedures of the USPS and basically advise them to wait a few days.
Ebay is aware of the procedures too. I was concerned about my Top Rated Seller status. Even though some of my packages aren’t showing a scan within the 1 business day, I have not been penalized.
You have to do what enables you to sleep at night. I understand that. Unless packages start to disappear, I wouldn’t worry too much.
Good Luck
I think you may have refunded your buyer prematurely.
Many times the scan will not show up until it hits the destination city. Also there are times when a package is scanned, but does not show up on the USPS.com website even though it may be present on the USPS internal website.
A week may be slow, but it not that unusual with some packages.
You probably want to call your local Post Office to see if they have any information on your packages. I personally won’t consider issuing a refund until it has been at least 10 days.
The only way to guarantee a scan is to go to the counter and get a receipt.
In the past, I have had packages arrive late.. some really late, but to date all have arrived.
Good Luck.
