If the item is truly defective, the buyer is entitled to 100% refund including the shipping both ways.
Did you test it.. or can you test it.
Since he has already returned it, I don’t see why he’d accept a partial refund, unless it is not defective and the buyer knows it.
Good Luck.
Thanks Ryanne..
I agreed to accept the return yesterday… The clock is ticking. Ebay says he has until 4/03 to return it. The tracking last showed package is out for delivery.
Hopefully this will all be done, one way or another by next Monday..
Thanks all…
If I agree to accept the return today, then I guess the next business day is a week from Monday? I was going to wait until the delivery, or attempt was made, but I suppose there is no reason to.
As someone else indicated there may be tracking on the “return to sender”, but there shouldn’t be tracking on my return label.
So should I agree to accept the return to get the 5 day clock turning , or did it start to turn when he requested the return?
Thanks.

So Cal Joe.
The smartest move would probably be to refund him 100% now and move on with my life. This has already taken too much of my time. It’s not a very expensive item…..
However I just can’t do that. It’s not in my DNA. If I get the item back I’ll give him a 100% refund.. otherwise he gets no refund.
I just read the “Feedback Left for others” from this seller. he left 8 and 5 of them are negative.
I’m thinking I should just accept the return, in the hopes that 5 days will go by and I can close it. If this guy has the chance he’s going to leave a negative.
The buyer was staying in a hotel room and left today. I imagine he told them at the hotel to refuse the package.. who knows.
I believe the 3/25 date was an Ebay estimate. I think they just put one date, which is generally very optimistic.
If the buyer had sent me some communication before his purchase, I could have advised him to opt for Priority mail, or as a courtesy, I may have walked it over to the Post office myself. Of course, none of this was done, so here we are.
If it comes back unopened, I’m probably just going to refund him 100%. I can already smell bad feedback and I’d rather pay him, block him and move on.
I believe item was suppose to arrive today, Saturday 3/25.
You can offer Priority as a second option. The default will still be !st class and if the customer wants priority.. they pay for it.
As to how that will affect your search results… who knows.
Thanks Ryanne. unfortunately it’s been an ongoing problem, but Ebay hasn’t been hitting me with the late defects. Now it looks like they’re focusing in that direction again.
I’ve tried signs on the porch and I put a note to scan all packages when I send in the pickup request.
Oh well, It’s not the end of the world. I’m not going to make the change in my handling time just yet. There’s always Etsy…
Thanks.
Update.. I just got off the phone with Ebay. They couldn’t remove these, but they are aware of the problem and and are getting the same calls from other sellers. I fell pretty confident they will come up with an answer.. Alas the sky is not falling…

So Cal Joe.
Wow, I just noticed two more late shipments on my dashboard.. What a drag.
I don’t have the time to go to the Post Office every day and my Postal Carrier (who is often someone different) does not scan my pickups on a consistent basis. I’m shipping within one day without fail… Bummer.
I’ll call Ebay and get them removed, but I can’t be doing that every week either. I’ve got a current buyer who tried to cancel a sale because it isn’t showing as picked up yet. Now it has scanned in 1 1/2 days after the pickup.
This is not a new situation with me. I’ve spoken to my carrier and called the Post Office. Everyone is apologetic, but nobody is responsible. I don’t see a solution with them.
Obviously I won’t be doing guaranteed delivery and may just move to 2 or 5 day handling… All because the Post Office can’t be relied on to scan my pickups.
It’s just a little frustrating.
I agree on the tire repair tool…

He also has several books out, a few of which I’ve read.
It’s all about hard work, dedication and delayed gratification.
Of course, the whole family, especially you and your wife have to be on board.
It’s amazing how much money you can save, just by paying attention.
Good luck…
The picture could be better. I can’t see the entire item and there is no indication of the size.

Dave Ramsey is the king of budgeting. I don’t agree with all his philosophies, but with regard to budgeting and paying off debt, he’s the king.
They’ve both got radio shows and podcasts of the shows are often available.
I believe it’s a sale run by an individual, not an estate sale company. I see them on Estatesales.net occasionally. I don’t remember ever going to one.
