One’s religious beliefs do not constitute “hate”, just because someone disagrees with their beliefs. Where the rubber meets the road is how you actually treat others. The SA treats everyone with compassion.
Wow, in your first link the writer calls the Salvation Army a ‘religious hate group.’ Really? Where are her facts? How do people expected to be taken seriously when they throw out venom like that? When I lived in the city I volunteered at the SA center weekly, met many of the lifelong staff who lived on a very low income, and found no hint of hate.
At least the SA provides food, housing, drug rehab, social services, and disaster relief across the globe. And public financial records. https://www.forbes.com/companies/salvation-army/
I wonder if the author of that article considers her ‘love’ better than that.
Yay for you! We just got home from Denver at 11:00 last night to see the eclipse from home today. I thought our totality was going to be 1 min 18 sec but that was for downtown St. Louis–here it will be 2 min 14 sec. what is totality where you are? Protect your eyes! We have the good glasses, but I’m most interested in seeing the world turn dark.

So funny! I am crying with laughter. Reminds me of when one of our pastor friends left a voice text for his wife inquiring whether she wanted to join us and go to “the boobies.” (Movies)

I listed a little antique Steiff dog this week that I picked up at a garage sale in June for a couple of dollars. It didn’t look like much to me after I perused the Solds. I was thinking of just putting it on BIN for $29. But when I’m unsure of value I like to run it through an auction first. So I started the auction at $29. So far it’s up to $89.00, and it has about 5 days to go. I’m glad I tried that.

Wise choices. Perspective is everything.
Then there are the people like myself who search in the order of Lowest Price First. 😊
Haha. I lived in Rolla when my ex-husband attended the School of Mines engineering program. It’s about an hour and a half south of us on Hwy. 44. Stop by next time you visit them.
By the way, for those who don’t know what to do with all your free Ebay boxes, here’s an idea:
Wow, I did a long post, then went back to edit a typo, and it disappeared. ???
08/07/2017 at 6:58 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 322: Don’t Forget To Make Your Own Weekends #21497T_Satt, what is your blog if you don’t mind saying?
08/07/2017 at 11:26 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 322: Don’t Forget To Make Your Own Weekends #21460That would be much closer for sure. Enjoy it somewhere! We are cutting a trip to Denver short so we can be here for the eclipse.
On another topic, Ryanne, when I call ebay I just wear my bluetooth earpiece while I wait so I can still work freely and walk around doing other things while I wait. Of course I call using my cellphone, where you said you call through your computer for some reason, so maybe that won’t work for you.
08/07/2017 at 10:37 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 322: Don’t Forget To Make Your Own Weekends #21443Jay and Ryanne, the solar eclipse is going directly over our town just south of St. Louis. You are very welcome to be our guests. I already ordered the special eclipse-watching glasses. It will be a full eclipse here for 2 minutes and 14 seconds. It would be our pleasure to enjoy it with you on our hilltop in Eureka!
Yay! Now sell that thing!
