All one more reason people homeschool. So much safer on many levels; especially the germ thing.

Okay, I tried. I even managed to get myself kicked off by making myself a “spammer”. So tonight I had my husband–my favorite computer geek–try to put my photo in. He also could not do it. No menu drops down. Even when we go to my profile there is noplace to add/change a photo. He said to tell J&R that they have some broken hyperlinks. Thanks for the help Mike. Hopefully they can get this fixed. I’m not loving the green pixels.
12/06/2016 at 6:11 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7429I once had a ceramic surface stove. You really do have to have pots with flat bottoms. It was a very reasonable question.
12/06/2016 at 6:08 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7427Thank you Mike! I totally agree. You can either leave things the way they are with ever-diminishing returns, or you can try something new. AND a big part of my advice is to update the listing information and pricing while you sell similar. This takes more time because uou have to do each one individually. But I believe it is working for me. I just need to do it more with those “older than 18 months” listings as they show up. This week I may not list a thing due to packing and shipping gifts and baking cookies. Baklava anyone?
12/06/2016 at 6:00 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7423Do you “relist” or “sell similar”?
Can someone tell me how tomadd my photo back on my icon? When I click on my name or photo it doesn’t bring up anything. How do I get into my account to change it? I am a confessed techno-tard.
12/06/2016 at 8:43 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7293J&R have you ever interviewed Fred’s Premium Closet? His store clothing photos are so good. It makes me wonder how he folds the shirts. Does he use cardboards in each one? I would love to hear an interview with him, or get a link to one you have done.
12/06/2016 at 7:56 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7291Jay, PPS: and having a sale in various categories also raises your visibility in Cassini. I know you doubt that, but that’s what the Australian Ebay employee said in that video some time ago, and I find it to be helpful.
12/06/2016 at 7:52 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7290Jay, PS: I personally want to purge some of my old listings because I have limited storage. That doesn’t mean I think you should. But sometimes when we are new we buy things that are no longer in demand, and they might be worth more as a donation than taking up limited space.
12/06/2016 at 7:47 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7289I agree. You obviously need a large inventory. But I am wondering what you could do to stir up the very old listings, even just as an experiment. They are like disintegrating crud rotting on the bottom of the swimming pool. They need stirring up and cleaning off to get good circulation. You could “End” listings and then “Sell Similar”. In the process you could add any missing Item Specifics that were not required when you first listed them, as well as any other new info that wasn’t a factor then. So they would be updated listings with a brand new item #. And during the process you might want to update pricing since prices change with time. I think as soon as your death piles are gone this would be a great use for your great new employee. Just my suggestion FWIW. I hope to do more of the same myself.
12/05/2016 at 10:23 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7271Jay, I will say it once more. I have a hunch that having hundreds or thousands of old listings is not necessarily a good thing. I suspect that lots of old listings may in fact drag you down in The Cassini search engine. Look at all the big weekly stats from sellers with comparatively few listings. I think fewer listings with faster turnover is the sweet spot. I hope to start thinning out my old deadweight things and selling them super cheap or donating them to see if that helps sales AND to free up storage space. I have zero desire for getting a warehouse. My aim is going to be to have no more listings than I get free each month with my Premium level store. What do you think?
