Hello from NYC! Arrived yesterday for husband’s convention. Our 19 yr old granddaughter flew in to join us all the way from Hong Kong late last night via Moscow. We got to bed at 3am. Staying at a hotel overlooking Times Square. Will probably be doing mostly the touristy things with the granddaughter since she has never been here. But hoping to sneak in a bit of scavenging too. I would love to meet up for coffee or lunch with any of our SL friends from NY if you have time—just let me know when and where works for you. Not leaving until Sunday. Also, where’s the best place for breakfast around here? I’m getting hungry!
Do calculated shipping. That way the buyer pays for the shipping and you won’t have unpleasant surprises.
I just do a search through my old ebay folder of emails. Never delete your emails. Recently ebay stopped sending me email confirmations of my listings but that came back after a week. I still got all the sold and paid notices.
OMG, those Russians are infiltrating EVERYWHERE! Hahaha

Even with contacts and glasses. Can anything be done about that?
02/01/2018 at 8:47 am in reply to: Got a phone call from a customer – and fascinating panicky offer behavior! #31804Ebay has always had seller’s and buyer’s phone numbers available for those who know how to find them. I’ve only had good things happen when I’ve talked to customers on the phone.
Yes, I stopped getting those emails, too, and reported it to ebay. Still none. I rely on them a LOT. I assumed it was part of the other problems with my store that ebay has been “working on” for 2 weeks now. Getting #FedUpwithEbaysScrewUps.
Thank you for the suggestion. I have a lot of options.
Wow. That’s a piece of relevant news. Thank you, Mike. So was your issue ever corrected by Ebay? Do you have any way of discerning exactly how much money this has cost you? My sales have fallen by a third just in the last month from the month before. It seems the harder I work and the more items I have in my store the worse my sales are. Your information doesn’t stress me out at all—just make things clearer. I’ve lived long enough, and been through enough, to know it’s only money. Fortunately my Ebay main goal was recently accomplished (paying off our mortgage in half the time). I could really look forward to getting my life back and pursuing other goals now, some of which I have already begun. If I close my Ebay business now my only question is what is the best way to liquidate my inventory of over 1200 items?

All I’m doing is listing right now. I wouldn’t dare mess with existing listings right now. Oh, and I probably did have overlapping listings because it seemed like some listings were never ending, but the problem was already there obviously. My weekly total sales were dismal. I just figure it will get better when it’s all fixed. If it never gets fixed guess I’ll have a big garage sale and move on. God guides in mysterious ways.
My husband has been doing our taxes with Turbo Tax for many years, and we have somewhat complicated incomes with several different sources. When we first married he used to still come up with all the numbers and records and then take them to his accountant. I told him he was doing all the work, then his accountant was just putting his numbers into a computer program for him. He never got tax refunds. And he was paying big money for the service. Turbo Tax already is programmed to know all the tax laws that an accountant knows. So he started using it and not only saved what he would have paid the accountant, but actually started getting tax refunds that he never got before. Turbo Tax prompts you to find any potential refunds. We also use it for our state taxes. Works great.
I think ebay likes it if we offer calculated shipping with 3 choices of methods, so I do that a lot now.
Creepy. When in doubt, do without.
I don’t think I ever ran overlapping sales, but it;s possible. But I definitely noticed sales still happening after the end date, and selling “On Sale” after the sale was over. Was also having things sell that were already sold and gone. Thought I was losing it. As soon as they straighten this out I’m going to ask for any recent defects about those things to be removed.
I would just send it Parcel. Be sure to print the postage cost on the label so they can see you paid more than they paid. They probably won’t complain, it will probably arrive in the same time. If they say anything just tell them what it would have cost and that you didn’t want to cancel the sale, and you paid the few extra dollars yourself.
