This was a rough ebay week, but a decent Poshmark week (where I have 1/3 the items).
Jan 6-13:
ebay Items in store: 1050
ebay Items sold: 19
ebay Sales: $630Poshmark: $275 (after fees)
Mercari and Depop: $0Grand Total: $905
Once again, crossposting continues to give me that sales bump weekly.There are tons of ebay match sellers, look up some matches and check their store. They all send USPS First or Priority, which is of course, against the rules. However, with thousands of listings I don’t know how they get around this. Paying $7 for ground? I don’t think they do this and I wonder if they get in trouble.
Just send them ground per the rules and they cost about $7. Annoying!
I often times (for Poshmark) use keywords for marketing i.e. like Vegas, Festival, Club Wear, Palm Springs. ” I do not use brands as a keyword.
HOWEVER, I recently sold some vintage hawaiian ceramics that look like a famous artist whose pieces sell for $500+. I did say “this item looks inspired by famed Hawaiian artist, so and so.”My sales for Jan have been down 25% according to my metric. I list daily and it’s like crickets.

I use it! It has given me so much money over the years. It is not perfect, and frankly, clunky. But I use it almost daily as well.
I am interested to know the major factor for the dip, thank you for sharing. I have often thought “what if” something were to happen in my life where this would be the case. I assume it would all just sell down at a lower STR eventually and then I would decide how to deal with it from there.
I wonder if it is the 15 day handling or the lack of new listings that is the main reason, or both.

I am buying big stuff and listing on Craigslist and Facebook. No problems so far, saving the shipping and ebay fees is great.

I am still listing new items daily, tweaking old items, sourcing seasonal stuff and getting it up asap (ski, winter). I hope I have a big “whoosh” later this month. Hope is not a strategy, but hey I need some.
For those of you who are still struggling, KEEP the faith! Things will turn around.It may be a good time to try out the Letter Track Pro. I just went to their website again and their youtube. I asked a question about getting a real USPS tracking number. Which is the thing that matters to ebay as you know.
Furthermore, it’s important to note you are buying tracking NOT postage. I forgot that! So, I guess you need to buy postage (or stamps). I need to think through this IF they provide an actual tracking number.re: Dim Weight changes here in an easy to understand format not til June
SO SORRY. Did you have “Unknown” in the field? or was it blank? Not to split hairs, just curious on how they see these things. The question is how does SHE know it’s made in China?
I swear, it does not seem to matter one lick what the reason is anymore. It’s coming back no matter what.Main culprits (for me) that lead to listing sold or missing items:
1. Ending a listing for whatever reason ( donating it, ending for a flaw, avoiding a buyer, thinking it will sell on Posh and it does not) and it goes into Unsold or Ended. Then, I click UNSOLDS and then hit “relist” and there it goes live again. oops.
2. I pull an item out of inventory to answer a buyer question like measurement or new photo and I fail to put it back in it’s place so it goes AWOL.
3. I have a pile of listed items but haven’t made it into inventory yet which causes issues. This is b/c my process needs to be redone.
