I had heard a ‘rumor’ that ebay pics loaded right into the phone app are not as good as ones loaded as a file? Is there any truth to this? I see no difference outside of my bad photo skills.
I also want to avoid connecting my iphone into my laptop. So I was looking at Dropbox as it would “suck” all the iphone photos onto the dropbox.
Thanks for the advice everyone! I am looking to get more photo-efficient b/c I dislike it so much 🙂
Store: 400 items
Number of Items Sold: 8
Total Sales: $255.79
Cost of Goods Sold: $36
Highest Sale: Madewell Wide Leg Jeans $59 (very on trend)Stray Observation: I had to do an ebay return as a buyer this week. Item came to me with stains on it. I stupidly clicked reason “arrived damaged.” It then said seller had 7 days to respond to my return. Well, crap, that is annoying. So I call eBay. I say “change my reason.” They said “we can’t. You need to wait 7 days.” Seller finally accepted the return. It made me annoyed – this is why we can’t have nice things! Sellers who wait 5 days to respond to a return are patterns that create these “free returns, buyers are mad!” culture. Rant over. 🙂
Yes, it is cleaner to link to “LISTING” but it took me a few hours to figure this out. 🙂 I wish this was in seller update/ update. Oh well, thank goodness for the forums.
Ramblingman – where do you see / hear a $60 for sell similar now? I missed this? I do 30 day with re-list but I don’t know why. It’s problematic for my inventory system as I always miss something to renew or accidentally re-list something twice. Ugh!

I am late to the Dymo 4XL crowd. Wow, what a difference. I was using Avery labels and ink-jet ink for 2 years, shipped 1,000 packages that way. I love the thermal printer! I found a staples.com deal for $100 flash sale and grabbed it. Never going back, look for deals / coupons for sure!
Ugh. What a dud week! I listed daily, high-end items and death aka profit piles. Alas.
Sales from May 30-June 5
Store: 403
Sales this week: 12, $299 – a few free ships in there, so probably more like $275.
Cogs:$50
Best Sale: vintage Gucci slip-ons, highly unusual brogue pattern w/ lots of wear. Took about 6 months. $59.99
New Inventory Acquired: $150 (way more than normal for me, but I am in stock pile mode). I have been sourcing way too high dollar lately but my thrifting here is solid, it’s just not super cheap.I am about to list a ton of stuff from my own house (wahoo) and am also going to cross post to Facebook Marketplace over June. I’ve resisted this, but I want some stuff gone quick for cash.
I’m feeling the eBlues :). Hoping it passes soon! I started about 20 auctions to move things along.
06/04/2018 at 10:18 am in reply to: What is the deal with $0 value gift card lots selling for $$? #41616Hi, during my higher end retail stint we dealt with gift card fraud constantly. It really is problematic and the scammers are always 2 steps ahead of the company. We could look up the issued gift card number to see where it was sold and where it was redeemed (which store).
I would get calls “I loaded $100 on this card yesterday!’ all of the time. Meanwhile, the gift card was 5 years old based on the bar code. Yes, it could happen. But probably not.
I guess if you really wanted to prevent fraud you could X out the bar code or number on back.
Dandelion Greens are so fantastic and great for your gut healthy. You can purchase, or forage! Recipe I am going to try:

378 items in my store
Sold this week: 9 items
Net Sales Total: $308
COGS: $55
Highest item: Kodak Vintage Photo Glossy Matte Extra Large Paper ($69 for 4 packs going GSP)I have not listed too much lately, hence slow down. I usually average 10% sell through rate these days. I was at 15-20% in 2017 with less items, all clothing at that time.
Thanks for the sharing.
I used to add SKU to my title, but it annoys me when I type in my search requests for example “Women’s Jeans 12” and I get results like “Old Navy Women’s dark Jeans sz 4 A12.”
The podcast description for their show reads ” The official radio voice of Ebay worldwide..” in my podcast app. That being said, if you are The Official Voice, I would *assume* all content shared is accurate/up to date/authoritative in content. So that is good news.
Perhaps I will try tune in again to hear answers to the questions Paul presents.
I would prefer a show transcript, I wonder if I can find one.Is this show the official eBay radio program/podcast?
I can’t figure out if the show is an actual PR outlet/marketing piece for ebay official or if it’s the hosts “best guesses” on what the rules are?You may want to explore flat lay styling if wall space is limited. You can do this on any clean surface with good lighting even if it is your bed, dining room table, or floor. A white backdrop is still nice. A heavy white wrinkle free blanket or screen is nice.
The old man pickers who whistle the entire time are enough to make me leave! Strategy? Perhaps. 🙂 I should learn to whistle.
Estate sales are where I see most of the nuts. Small spaces/crowds/bad parking all elevate the scarcity mind-set.
If I see other resellers, I always get a look at what they’re picking/researching. Gives me a good sense of what to look for in future. If I see hip young adults thrifting (for themselves), I always try to eavesdrop on what is “hella fresh.” -
