Welcome Lenytten!
I am not able to work a typical full time or even part time job due to chronic health issues, so reselling on ebay has been a godsend for me! Not having to do anything at any particular time, plus being able to scale back or up depending on how I’m feeling is great. Plus it’s really fun.
Sonia
Congratulations!
welcome!
Thanks for trying, Amatino!
Just saw your reply today, once I fixed the spam issue.
Note that USPS/ebay doesn’t provide any shipping discount on Parcel Select. So when a customer selects this option, I usually upgrade them to Priority anyway, b/c priority always comes out to be cheaper (sometimes just 10-20 cents) AND has free insurance and gets to the customer faster.
I started doing this after learning about this from someone else here on SL. Thank you, whoever you are!
I would send them a message saying that if they want a refund, they need to open a return on the ebay website. I usually also copy and paste instructions on how to do this from the ebay website.
Huh. I guess that’s what power sellers do. I’m still a sucker for these things so I would have typed out. “I appreciate your interest in this item, but unfortunately I am unable to come down on the price.” Maybe if I instead spent that time listing and then as a result sold more, I would be too busy packing to be bothered to make that much effort in my responses.
12/22/2017 at 8:42 pm in reply to: Possible Way to Prevent Buyers from "Renting" Clothes thru Ebay #29296Hey, that’s a great idea, given the caveats AdventureE mentioned – like placement of the tag being a consideration. If you just attach it to an inside tag, it’s still easy to wear the garment without removing your tag. But attach it to the hem of the dress, and that’s a real deterrent! But not a foolproof solution, though. The really determined clothing renter can purchase their own tagging gun and re-attach the tag after wearing.
Seems like one of those “laugh or cry?” situations…
On all nike air sneakers there is a tag/label on the underside of the tongue – I think he’s referring to this. But there won’t be such a tag/label on these shoes, b/c it’s a cole haan shoe. I’ve never seen the typical Nike tag on the Cole Haan Nike Air collaboration shoes.
Huh – I wonder if that’s a new restriction. I’ve sold Cole Haan Nike Air shoes in the past and didn’t have a problem with both names in the title. I just entered “cole haan nike air” into the ebay search bar, and there are thousands of listings that match.
Amatino, try petroleum jelly for the black sharpie marks – seems to work if the sole is rubber-type.
SandyGirl,
I don’t see any price written on the bottom of the shoes in your photos…Here’s what I do when I encounter this problem:
Tino the Sole Advisor on youtube advises using vaseline (you have to rub it with a paper towel/cloth fairly firmly for a while), and that works a lot of the time. If it doesn’t, then I black out the price with a black sharpie marker. I’ve tried rubbing alcohol and googone and whiteboard marker, but those don’t seem to work for me either.
I think the vaseline trick may be in this video
Great job on the photo link!
To me this pair looks like what is called a “fashion sneaker.” It’s just a regular casual shoe to wear whenever, but not really for sports.
Yay!
