Eve – this thread is a great idea. Maybe it would make sense to do the next such post in the “Scavenging” category of the forum?
My latest favorite find is this cool vintage (60s?) floral hostess skirt. The colors are just so beautiful and bright. It is sweet eye candy for me! $4 non-chain thrift shop find.
11/17/2016 at 10:06 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Marantz Stereo, Antique Cabinet Photo, Patagonia Jacket #6051Today I’m (almost sadly) packing up my most favorite purchase ever – super-cool vtg 60s linen daisy outfit purchased for the super-groovy price of 50 cents! Sold for $44 + shipping.
It took many months to sell, but I’m glad I stuck to my price.

You are hilarious, Eve! And I don’t even know what a Hellcat is…
Looking forward to watching your latest video tonight or tomorrow.
I love your items, too, Kate! I look forward to listening to your tips on podcast 160.
This thread says they are Crown Vintage Shoes.

8 miles away is local for me too!
I don’t think it will actually be used often enough for the confusion issue to be a real problem. We had the delete option in the blogger format, and people used it fairly frequently, but only once did I see a situation where someone deleted a post that others replied to, causing a little bit of confusion. I hope there’s an easy way to make it so that you can edit any post or reply, and not just your latest one in a thread.
Just to throw out an example, I’d like to go back and edit my introduction post if I could. But since I’ve replied to your reply, I’d be stuck even if the edit option was available longer.
Glad it’s working for you now.
I started worrying about moths a few months ago, and decided to go with storing wool stuff in huge ziplock bags, with little satchels filled with cloves inside. I have no idea if the cloves are actually doing anything – it’s just something I read online. The bags are not cheap, but hopefully they’ll last for years. Just have to be careful not to overstuff them, which I think I did to one which ended up splitting. All this said, since I didn’t have a problem with moths to begin with (am just doing this preventatively), I have no real way of knowing if my approach is necessary and/or working.
Hi Brad/Skycam! Thanks for volunteering to help with questions about taking photos. I don’t have time to get into it right now, but rest assured there will be a lot of (not?) dumb questions on this topic coming your way from me soon. I wonder if I should just reply here with my questions? Or is there a better forum category for such a discussion?
Yes – I love being away from the traffic madness! Sometimes as a joke I will have fake road rage when I’m driving with as many as 3(!!!) cars ahead of me on the road. 🙂
Also nice not to have to keep stopping at traffic lights. Can drive 30 miles before I see one.I think there needs to be a way for a member to delete their own posts/replies.
If you choose the “1-2 pounds” option, what happens?

Average Sales Price: $43

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $127 for 21 items
Number of items listed this week: 10My strategy of paying higher prices for higher value items and trying hard not to buy items that will sell for less than $30 is working. I like having the avg gross profit above $30, and will continue to aim at increasing this. Still a LOT of low-price inventory in stock, though. And a lot more learning needed to be able to correctly identify high-value vs. low-value items when scavenging. Picked up a like new pair of Dr. Scholl’s velcro comfort sandals last Friday. I thought these would sell for at least $30-40, but it turns out that they typically sell for less than $20. Oh well. I’ll comfort myself by thinking about the like new Ecco golf shoes I picked up at the same rummage sale. 🙂
