That is a great suggestion that I think will work great in this case, b/c even if the customers buy the max quantity, I can still send everything (teaspoons) in a PFRE. Plus, my impression is that silverware is the type of thing that has a lower return rate, so the risk of being out the original shipping cost if the buyer returns it is pretty low. Thanks for this idea! Yay.And thanks for confirming that the switch from FC to Priority doesn’t work on multiple quantity listings. Wasn’t sure if I was just doing something wrong.

MyCottage,
This is what I’m seeing between “ebay>stores>mystorename” and then my logo and store name. It’s shrunk to fit on imgur, but on my screen, that white space is about an inch. I tried uploading a photo for a banner to see what would happen, but nothing happened after I selected a photo to upload and clicked OK. Maybe b/c the photo was wrong aspect ratio? I don’t know, but I don’t particularly need a banner other than that blue bar – just the white space looks ugly.
it’s not the bar itself I object to, but simply its location so far down the screen, leaving an inch of empty white space above it. weird.
I like it, except for a big piece of wasted empty space above my store banner/header. That part looks kind of weird, like a bug. It looks like this:
ebay>ebay stores>my-store-name
[Manage my store button]
BIG BLUE BAR GOING ACROSS WHOLE SCREEN WHICH LOOKS OUT OF PLACE THIS FAR DOWN
Then comes the nice clean store info sectionOk, cool. Thanks for all the input, everyone. Good to know that people are charging sales tax as part of the ebay transaction with no disastrous results, as that was the way I was leaning towards going. Now on to figure out the process for paying that tax to my state.
Folks,
The measurements I provide for a pair of women’s pants are waist, rise, inseam. That seems to be similar to what other people provide. IMO, this is NOT enough to guarantee fit, even if you do check the measurements. Say I even added a hip measurement – still not enough. How low down did I take the hip measurement? How stretchy is the material? How wide are the pants 2 inches below the hips? What about the rise in the back? Some clothes look better on people with flat behinds than those with round ones and vice versa. I could go on.Another part of this is that people are not used to checking clothing measurements when buying online. They don’t want to go into their closet and measure all their clothes that fit and then keep a record of that. I know I don’t.
So my advice, albeit unsolicited, is to not worry about “didn’t fit” returns. They are just a fact of life when selling clothing and shoes. And personally I rejoice when I see the reason for a return is “didn’t fit,” b/c at least then it’s not an INAD (not a consolation for “free returns” adoptees of course).

Auction Kenny,
I just want you to know that I for one really appreciate the detailed examples and reasoning and followup you have provided for the use of auctions in certain situations. It made a lot of sense to me and I hadn’t thought of auctions in that way before.

The link I was talking about was the shipping coupon reminder setup link. I think you had the old link before, but Ryanne provided the updated link above.
Hm. I see a pattern. The Russian government must not like your items…
