If you have a regular store (no fancy custom design), the look of your store landing page probably changed a bit today. One thing in particular was confusing sellers—-the store search field is now at the very top of the page, with a drop down that defaults to your store but allows the buyer to toggle between the store and all of ebay.
This design change had been announced back in the Spring Seller Release, but was largely ignored by sellers, so it may come as a surprise. More changes to come, in June or later, with customizable modules to choose from and so forth. So this is just the first step.
Personally, I like the new cleaner look. What do you guys think?

I always like a cleaner look, but it’s unfortunate the font is so small and the content doesnt dynamically resize itself to the size of the screen. Just little design gripes.
As long as people keep buying!

I like it, except for a big piece of wasted empty space above my store banner/header. That part looks kind of weird, like a bug. It looks like this:
ebay>ebay stores>my-store-name
[Manage my store button]
BIG BLUE BAR GOING ACROSS WHOLE SCREEN WHICH LOOKS OUT OF PLACE THIS FAR DOWN
Then comes the nice clean store info section-

I agree. Clean is good, but there s a lot of wasted white space. The content should snap to the screen.

sonia, I think you can replace the big blue bar with your own store “billboard”

it’s not the bar itself I object to, but simply its location so far down the screen, leaving an inch of empty white space above it. weird.

sonia, right…the bar is kind of thin. If you replace it, I think you fill in some of that white space , cause the billboard is bigger than the thin blue line.

Well, wait, I’m not 100% sure I know just what you are seeing…do you have a thin blue bar,and below that a blue square off to the left, with your store name to the right of it? Are you talking about all the white space there (to the left of the square)?

MyCottage,
This is what I’m seeing between “ebay>stores>mystorename” and then my logo and store name. It’s shrunk to fit on imgur, but on my screen, that white space is about an inch. I tried uploading a photo for a banner to see what would happen, but nothing happened after I selected a photo to upload and clicked OK. Maybe b/c the photo was wrong aspect ratio? I don’t know, but I don’t particularly need a banner other than that blue bar – just the white space looks ugly.

Not bothered by the new look as much as I am about the new search results. Just searched my store for Levis Orange Tab using the “This Store” search option and came up with 4 of our items and 10 promoted listings from other sellers. That really stinks! These are not in the side bar, they are in the actual search results mixed in with my 4.

I didn’t like the “Search” results acting like that either. So, I went to “manage my Store”, then clicked on “Listing Frame”, which allows you to Customize your header. I saw that the “Search within my Store” box had been un checked. I just clicked that back on and saved. Now the “Serach within My Store” field is back in it’s former place and that stupid Search within my store combo with my competitors also sharing that spot is gone.
give it a try and see if you get it back the way it was. I also had lost the “My New Features” left right scroll bar with the change this morning. I just “customized” that feature back also.
I already have a custom designed header and just left that the way it was. Our store was clean and simple anyway. Ebay just “messing around” I think.

UPDATE: From what I’m hearing, there were (surprise!, surprise!) problems with the rollout, and ebay is reverting everyone back to their previous store design. Who knows, maybe they’ll actually provide some sort of official announcement as to what they are doing (or undoing, as the case may be).
Thank God in Heaven ebay isn’t producing self driving cars—I hate to think of the consequences if they were.

My last post should have included this from, ebay tech Board:
Hi all,
Due to an issue during rollout, we turned off the new Stores experience. We will turn the new experience back on as soon as possible.
Thank you.
