I agree with you, there are many advantages.
I’m going to have to look at it again. I automatically convert the fees to an interest rate, so that I can make sure I’m comparing Apples to Apples. In this case I think I Goofed on the math and the rate.
It may be the answer to my situation after all…
will advise..
I have to agree with Retro.. If they make no attempts to contact me within 4 days and the assistant takes over, I don’t have whole lot of sympathy for them or their situation. If they contact me before then, I can be very reasonable and forgiving.
That being said, once the assistant takes over, I get paid more than half the time, with no further action by me. I’ve been tempted to set it to 2 days, but late pays are so infrequent that I’d just as soon give them the 4 days.
There shouldn’t be any defects for the sales that have been cancelled.
The third buyer bought something I have duplicates of. I messaged him offering a larger quantity for the same price. If I have to take a shipping defect for that one, I can live with it.
It was fortunate that I figured it out when I did. It gave me the option of being proactive with the buyers, as opposed to dealing with complaints and open cases. In addition, I was able to void all the postage.
As always, thanks for the great advice and comments…
I always put the size in the title, even though it may be elsewhere. I don’t know if it makes a difference or not.
Regarding the bubble wrap:
Last week I drove to a place about 35 miles away, that sells bubble wrap in bulk. I found that if I buy four large rolls at 750 Sq Feet each. I can get them for about $22 a roll. This barely fits in my wagon, so I bought four for just under $88 total.
Since then, I’ve sold one locally for $35 and I’d like to sell one more to help with the gas etc. The remaining two, should last me a good long time.
Is $28.75 a reasonable cost for shipping or is the seller not being a smart efficient shipper?
Can you advise her on a better way to ship the items.
Yes, you would be justified in demanding her to ship the items for the agreed upon price, but maybe there is another solution.
For what it’s worth I bought the 4X4X4 from EcoSwift on Ebay. Their boxes are very light, which also means they are thin. They suited my purposes very well.
I also buy 7X5X4 Boxes from them that I place inside Flat rate Padded envelopes when I ship. These are also pretty light.
A couple of months ago I found several hundred brand new 8X4X4 boxes next to a dumpster. They are a little heavier, but hey free is free. They are perfect for shipping a rolled up T-shirt in.
I wish I had a source for free bubble wrap.. but that’s an entirely different story.
I bought some of these a while back and really don’t use them anymore. It’s a pain to get the USPS label attached due to the size.
Is there any reason you need this size? I’m sure you are aware Ebay shipping supplies has the 6X4X4 boxes.
Thanks.. that’s what I was looking for.
About two weeks ago I bought an additional 250+ vintage books very cheaply at the auction… The problem is that about half of them are in German.. Talk about death piles. I’ve begun to purge the non-sellers, but it’s a project and a half.
I have eight or nine early Thomas Mann books in German and 4 signed Oskar Maria Graf books in German that I can find no comps for. I’ve been to the Ebay.DE site and it is difficult at best to navigate as I do not know the German language.
If anyone knows of a way to make the German Ebay Page English, I would be grateful.
Thanks
This one will sell, it will just take a while. As crazy as it sounds, someone will want it, because it is beat up and faded.
A while back I had several sets of Gold plated Flatware. I listed them as sets and got no interest for months.
I then relisted them separately as knives, then forks, then spoons etc. Everything sold and relatively quickly for much more money. I even sold the box on it’s own. I was happily surprised.
I agree with Inglewood, break up the large set.

Back in the early 2000’s, when Ebay was all auctions, cashier’s checks and Bidpay, I sold used motorcycle parts. You couldn’t lose back then.. everything sold.
I had a friend who bought used bikes and either fixed and flipped them or stripped them and sold the parts on Ebay. It was very lucrative, but there were a couple of tough issues.
The hazardous materials, old gas, oil and other fluids had to be disposed of. The oil was no big deal, but it had to be dealt with. Fortunately for him, he had an old Chrysler with a 383 that seemed to burn anything he put in the tank, so that took care of the gas.
The other issue was that most bikes would have a limited amount of valuable parts and the rest has to be disposed of. At least around here, motor vehicle parts need to go to a licensed salvage yard. They weren’t too anxious to deal with vehicles stripped pf their valuable parts.
The third issue was limited paperwork or non existent paperwork. Typically the bike would have belonged to a deceased relative or a long lost boyfriend who basically abandoned it years ago. None of these carcasses were stolen, they just lacked documentation. Either way, it further complicated the issue of recycling the frames wheels etc.
After about a year of selling my cache of parts, I lost interest. The market had become competitive and I had a day job to focus on.
As far as I know, it’s not an exceptionally rare hat.
I’m pushing the unique distressed one of a kind angle. I was told the man who owned it was a big fan and wore it all the time, hence the condition.
We’ll see where it goes. I know over time, it will sell in my store, but I thought I’d put it on auction and see where it goes.
I changed the title.. I’m not really looking for the fetish crowd and don’t need that kind of attention..
