I moved to a rural area a couple of years ago and bought a non fixer upper and have never looked back.
I really thought I was going to have to move out of state, but it wasn’t so. There are hidden communities all over this country that are very reasonably priced. My new place is only about 110 miles away from my old place.
I couldn’t be happier and encourage anyone considering this, to start researching the small and forgotten towns close by. I think you’ll be surprised at what is available.
Unfortunately, with the pandemic, working from home and the continuous expansion of internet availability, I think more and more people will be moving to the country and gradually driving up prices. I’m already seeing it here.
Most of my trucker hats fit in the free Ebay 8 X 6 X 4 boxes. And ship USPS First Class.
It may seem a little tight, but I haven’t had any problems yet.
There are quite a few Californians on here.
When I lived near the beach, just south of Los Angeles, there were always lots of sources available, including estate sales and church sales.
Out here in the desert, sourcing is a little tougher, but in reality, I haven’t worked at it that hard since moving.
Welcome to the group.
September 2002 was when signed up.
I also made my first purchase and sale in 2002.
I got the 25 year message today, but no coupon…
Bummer…
2002 is my start year too..
I want to buy some books, so I hope it gets here soon.
When Cortez came to the new world in 1519 and decided to conquer the Aztecs, he burned his boats, so his men knew there was no retreat. Are you ready to burn the boats?
As always, the devil is in the details. Is the the $1200 expansion a monthly expense? If so it’s a big one.
I would take the steps to increase your Amazon sales and expand your Ebay inventory, before making any permanent moves. A couple of months may be all it takes and if your numbers pan out, you’ll know a lot more about your income.
In the meantime, treat your job is a means to an end and temporary. If you get a different job, that’s fine too.
Remember, there’s never a perfect time to quit a job, buy a house or even have kids. Even with extensive research, it’s always a leap of faith to some extent.
Good Luck.

I’ve been using reading glasses for about 10 years now and over the years, they’ve become stronger. All my close relatives have worn glasses from a young age, so it was not completely unexpected.
The other day, I actually bought a more expensive pair of reading glasses which included the blue block and UV protection to help when using the computer. I am surprised at the difference in comfort and clarity. Sometimes, paying more is actually better…. sometimes.
Thanks for the great podcast.
Here is the explanation by the president.
I got charged $1.08 extra for a package that they say I didn’t put enough postage. The tracking number they sent me wasn’t even for my package.
I guess the Post office must be really hurting for funds.

The hassle and expense of moving it, is generally not worth it. If you are going to temporally relocate, then yes the online local sales apps might be a good move.
I hope it all works out.
My package was finally delivered August 8 and the buyer seemed OK.
Done is done.
I once shipped a small Honda gas generator. it is kind you use for electricity, when the power goes out in the house.
I had to drain all the fluids and then create a box for it. It weighed about 65 lbs and I shipped it from California to New York.
The buyer opened up a return case. I don’t think he knew how to operate it. Back then he would have had to pay return shipping and a restocking fee.
Eventually he left me positive feedback and the return went away.
I submitted a “where’s my mail” request online this morning for a missing package.
To my surprise, I got a phone call from the Post Office in Virginia. He was nice, but basically told me to wait until the middle of next week, to see if it shows up.
It was mailed on 7/20 and last scanned on 7/25.
It is a priority mail package.
Wow, I’m seeing delays on many of my inbound and outgoing packages.
I’m sure the reduction of commercial airline flights isn’t helping matters.
As long as the tracking is updated, I can live with it.
I’ve also got one outgoing priority mail package right now, with no update in 6 days.
Life is certainly interesting.
