I’ve also had quite a few packages reset the clock and state “USPS is awaiting the item”, even though there are previous scans recorded.
I guess the Post Office has to maintain it’s “on time” delivery statistics.
I personally haven’t seem any lengthy package delays, since before the election.
Wow,
Travelling and living in foreign countries is certainly another strategy for saving money. It’s one of the few that I’m am not at all interested in.
The book should be here by the end of the week and I’ll check it out.
As a rule, I’m a staying put kind of guy. I just like having stuff too much and moving it all the time gets expensive.
Wow, I just listened to the podcast and heard than Ryanne is having a similar charge to an item shipped to California. My package was shipped to Eureka CA 95503, which is up north, close to Oregon.
What part of the state did your package ship to Ryanne? I’m curious if maybe a particular facility is causing these adjustments.
By the way, I received an automated response from USPS to my dispute,
<span style=”font-family: Calibri;”>”To whom it may concern:</span>
<span style=”font-family: Calibri;”> Thank you for your email. The USPS Verify Postage Help team has received your email regarding a potential dispute of shortpaid label charges. We are now in the process of evaluating the claims. This process can take up to two weeks. A decision will be submitted to the PC Postage entity through which the original label was printed, and any potential refunds should be posted to your account directly by that PC Postage entity based on the USPS decision.</span>
<span style=”font-family: Calibri;”> Due to COVID-19 USPS has received an unprecedented volume of inquires that have unfortunately delayed our response times beyond our normal service levels. We do apologize for the delays and thank you for your patience during these difficult times and for your business”</span>
Oh well, life goes on.
I resize boxes all the time, basically with an old paring knife and a metal yardstick (cut down to 20 inches), In a pinch, or with unusual sizes, I’ve had to construct boxes. It’s very time consuming and generally not worth it on large scale.
There are also specific box resizers out there in a variety of configurations.
At this point, my inventory of “free” Ebay boxes through my store subscription is very adequate for any item under the “oversize” measurements. The nice thing about these new boxes, is that they take up far less room for storage, than random sizes. I also don’t need to spend time looking for the perfect box or making it.
I’ve also got a healthy supply of “free” Priority Mail non flat rate boxes for those needs. They can be ordered online at USPS.com.
Even before I had the opportunity to get the “free” Ebay boxes, I was ordering new boxes online. The cost was anywhere from 20 to 50 cents a box and well worth it in my opinion. You should be able to make up the added cost on the price of the item.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.
The Post Office says I’ll hear back in two to five business days.
I filed the dispute via Email.
The money has already been taken from Paypal.
The box was 7 inches wide, but bulging a little which is what made it 8. An inch more I can maybe understand, but 5 inches is crazy, unless something happened to the package during transit.
Anyways, I’ll post if I hear anything back.
Thanks

Don’t forget to check out the 15 years mortgages too. The payments will be higher, but time flies and in 15 you will own the house.
Good luck whichever way you go.
I use my individual store categories as a way to segment my listing for revisions etc.
Since we are allowed two categories each, I often create a second one such as “local pickup only” to quickly identify the items I have listed for local pickup.
You may want to create a store category for items you also have in your booth, for quick access.
I do all this on my computer. It’s really easy and simple. I don’t know if it’s possible on the app, but you may be able to do it on your browser.
Good Luck.
Great, it sounds like you’ve been doing your research regarding your monthly housing expenses.
When I bought my first house, I was not yet selling on Ebay, but I was self employed. I had to provide a P and L (Profit and Loss statement) and copies of my bank statements to show a history of cash flow.
The usual lending requirements also came into play, such as credit score, income and time on the job.
Since you’ll be renting to others, you should be able to show that as income.
It also helps if you’re putting down at least a 20% down payment.
I bought my first house before the 2008 recession and lending standards were relatively easy. After the crash, they tightened up and have since loosened a bit.
With the pandemic, I really don’t know if they are tightening or not. If your housing expenses are less than 30% of your income, it shouldn’t be a big deal. Of course, that’s if you have a good credit history and aren’t overloaded with debt.
Are you doing online applications or have you dealt with a mortgage broker? It might be that you just haven’t found the right lender yet.
Good Luck with it.
By the way Clark Howard is a financial guy who’s been on the radio forever. His website is clark.com He’s got a consumer action center you can call and ask these type of questions. It’s totally free and he’s not trying to sell you anything. You may want to listen to him on the radio or catch his podcasts as well. He’s the nicest guy on the radio. I’ve been listening to him since the 1990’s.
Wow, great news.
House prices in Illinois can be very reasonable, but the property tax rate tends, to be on the high side.
As long as you considerate it as part of your monthly expenses, you should be fine.
Congratulations on your new house.
I actually attended U-Mass Amherst many years ago and grew up in the Boston Area.
I now live in Southern California and have been here about 30 years.
U-Mass, at least back then had a very earthy progressive vibe. The public transit was free and the campus very open and friendly. As Jay says, there are other Universities close by and it definitely has a college town feel.
The weather will be a shocker. It is so far north, that the sun sets early in the winter. I remember days growing up when the sun set at about 4:30 PM. The snow is not near as much as factor as the cold. There will be weeks, when it stays at about 20 degrees and at times it gets much colder.
When the spring does hit and you get the first 50 degree day, people go crazy. Out come the shorts, T-shirts and Frisbees. Spring typically has a lot of rain.
The weather is just a fact of life and many love the change of the seasons.
I have no regrets going there and think it’s a fine school.
As a real world example, I worked for a company in the 1990’s for about 6 years. I invested money in the 401K plan, which was basically a mutual fund for investing in large cap companies.
After leaving the my job, in 1996, I left the money in the 401K. I was not allowed to add to it. The money sat there for over 20 years.
There had been some company matching involved, but when I moved the money over recently, to an IRA, each dollar of my original contribution had become $12.50.
The 401K plan was nothing special. It was very similar to an index fund.
10/23/2020 at 9:00 pm in reply to: creating variations sample pack listing is making my head hurt #82783Instead of making one listing with 729 variations, you could create 9 separate listings with 81 variations each.
The first listing might be Espresso Dark plus pick two more.
The second listing might be Brazilian Mild plus pick two more.
It’s a work around, but might get it done.
Let’s see if someone else comes up with a better way.
It seems like there should be one.
You’re welcome.
I hope it works..
You sell the samples each (one) with free shipping on additional choices. The buyer pays $6 shipping for the first and it’s up to him how many he wants to add.
He can pick from the 9 choices.
Very Nice.. Thanks.
Maybe you create a listing for a sample for $5 and $6 shipping with free shipping on each additional sample purchase. You’d have to create a specific shipping policy for the listing.
Maybe I’m missing something.
Thanks again.
