I think you must be special. No coupon here. But I haven’t been with eBay since the beginning. I think it’s really nice that eBay is honoring the long term sellers!

I got one. Not sure everyone got one….I think maybe you had to have been with ebay for a certain amount of time? Anyway, 25 bucks is 25 bucks….I’m sure I won’t have any trouble spending it.
And speaking of gifts from ebay, this week or next we can all expect to receive the Fall Seller Update LOL Should include a new improved way to put store on vacation. Other than that, I don’t know what to expect.

I signed up for eBay’s “sellerbration” on September 25. I’m supposed to get some eBay swag. Not sure about a coupon. I’m also signed up for eBay UpFront, which is now virtual, in October. I am supposed to get a coupon for that, although, they already sent a $10 one when they had to reschedule from the spring.
I actually started with a few sales and a few purchases on eBay in the late 1990s or early 2000’s. Then, I forgot my password, and they didn’t have easy ways to reset it back then. So, I started a new account, and I currently have 2003 as my start date. Still a good amount of time, but haven’t received a $25 coupon as of yet.

I just checked my old buying account which I don’t use much, and I have the coupon too.
Joined on 12-9-2000. First purchase Seagate Medalist ST32122A – 2.1GB IDE (hard drive) on 12-19-2001. That was kind of a big drive back then. First sale MS Office XP Pro Full Retail Version on 10-22-2002.
Coupon expires 9/10, must spend a minimum $25.01. (I guess they need the penny.) I’m sure I can find something to buy for that I want but didn’t want to spend 25 bucks on.

I ended up buying 2 casual long-sleeved shirts, $8 out of my pocket plus the coupon. I like having a few new clothes in reserve for special occasions but 99% of the time I’m a shorts/jeans, t-shirt/sweatshirt kind of guy.

Nice surprise! I love free money. The email shows me registered on 11-23-1997, which I believe is correct though much of the rest of the information is not. It shows my first purchase in 2001 and first sale in 2008 which are way off as I started buying and selling immediately. I put a bunch of military items up (mainly $5-$10-$15 stuff) to test the waters but my first big sale was a Shwinn Orange Crate bicycle owner’s manual that went for $79.50 on December 10, 1997. On a 7 day auction starting at .99! I was hooked. Prior to that I had sold at flea markets and other live venues mostly and sent pricier items off to specialty live and mail order auctions or sold direct to antique dealers and collectors. Ebay was an amazing development.

FYI, I think either a) everyone will get one eventually, or b) it’s allotted randomly. I got one and have only been selling for around 4 years, although I’ve been on ebay as a buyer for longer than that.

Since Ryanne joined in 1999, we got the $25 coupon. Its nice.
First thing she sold was in 2002: a 8mm camera.

Got mine and used it already (@jay and @ryanne, I bought a Hario Coffee Scale with Timer because I’m a coffee freak also!)
First Purchase: Vintage Tuxedo in 2002. This might have been the one I wore at my wedding! (I bought a few vintage ones to try on…., so much cheaper than buying/renting a new one)
First Sale: A study guide my wife used for nursing school. Probably got half our money back.
83% of my shopping on ebay is Business & Industrial
43% of my selling on ebay is in Collectibles
I like that they did this, interesting stuff. and I love the free cash!

Yeah! I bought some Target clearance inventory to flip from other scavengers that is not available here.

Glad you posted about this. I got one too. I rarely check my eBay messages, might have missed it.

I hope I get one eventually, I’ve been on eBay since 2002…

I haven’t seen this yet. I joined around 2002-2004–I’m not sure where to check the exact date

If you click on your user ID, the exact date you became a member (or that ID was registered, I should say, because each ID may be different) shows up just under the box in the middle of the page containing your feedback summary.

Join date was 12/13/97, but first sale / first purchase not til 2001 – they missed a lot!!!
And the graph has me as 72% “other” – only 10% toys and hobbies.
still happy to have the coupon, and happy to still have the “e!”

So my husband just told me he got the coupon. He joined in 2000 but has sold just a handful of things since then. At least one of us got it!

I used my coupon to buy new underwear. Got a kick out of getting reminded about my eBay journey. I joined in 1998, first purchase in 2001, first sale in 2001, first mobile app purchase in 2011.

I got the 25 year message today, but no coupon…
Bummer…

I got the message today, but no coupon. As I’ve mentioned above, I signed up a few years earlier, but forgot my password. I opened a new account rather than try to call and get it reset.
Anyway, here is what mine said:
You registered as upsmartsales on 11-10-2003!
First purchase: You scored teal & white unpadded sling/baby carrier on 4-26-2004. (I had young children at the time, but this might have been a gift)
First sale: You cashed out with Marianne Williamson Audio Collection + 2 other tapes on 4-29-2004. (She actually tried to run for president last year).

Received the e-mail but no associated coupon on both of my eBay accounts. One was started in 2001 and the other in 2003. I’ve seen reports on other sites that some people with more recent accounts received the coupon so it may be random and not necessarily by account age.

Got the email, but no coupon.
Was reminded of my first Ebay flip- a cast iron Mickey Mouse pan. Paid $5, sold it for $20. Mailed it in a priority flat rate box wrapped in a blanket, lol. 7 years ago.

I also got the message without the coupon 🙁
It looks like I was just an eBay buyer from 2002 until 2008. The message says my first sale was in January of 2009.
I do remember my husband sold a Pearl Drum Set to someone in Sweden in 2000. So he was an eBay seller way before me. But after packing and shipping an entire drum set and paying more for the shipping than he expected he wasn’t keen on selling anything else on eBay. I’ve sold many thousands of items, he’s sold just a handful since 2000.
So the coupon must have been sent out on the basis of the year you first sold an item, rather than the amount of items you’ve sold. I guess eBay needed to pick some criteria to keep the number of coupons given out more manageable.

Got the coupon here too.
My first sale was a quilting book, 11-11-2001.
I remember buying a big box of plastic canvas pattern books and quilting books for $1.00 at a rummage sale for my first “try out” at selling online and building up my feedback before I tried listing more expensive items…and all I had was a used flatbed scanner.
Made approx $200 with that lot at the time, and was hooked.

I got the email but no coupon, boooooo! My first purchase was 2002, a Dean Martin/ Frank Sinatra / Rat Pack playing pool poster. Hung it in my pool room way back then. Have since sold the pool table and house and moved 4 times to 3 different states. First sale was a quilt book in 2009.
