One of the YouTubers I watch pretty much spent the last year saying that yard sales were beneath them now, and now they’ve dedicated the whole channel this summer to yard sales. Lol!

It is mind blowing that ebay can’t fix this behind the scenes. It seems so easy. Clearly something went really wrong during the beta test of fixing this. Remember photogate when they deleted all our photos? Or when they made it so that the dimensions you put into your shipping had to be under a certain limit or your shipping options didn’t work. I spent HOURS putting “10x8x3” on every padded flat rate listing I had and had to find them manually.
Anyways, I guess it’s time I got with the program and started using business policies.

I believe it was a “grown mid-30’s kids get your crap outta my garage” sale at the parent’s house.
If there ever was a time to do yard sales, it is now. I’ve been doing yard sales for many years and I’ve never seen the quality stuff I’m seeing this year ever. It’s the great post-pandemic “I bought too much crap online the last 3 years” purge.
….also unfortunately because many people died and their stuff is being dispersed through family.
Well the big scavenge of the weeks goes without saying…
I had actually lost hope on that sale. They never called me and I didn’t see a yard sale sign out Friday evening. We set out to yard sale, feeling kinda bummed. I checked 2 other sales in the neighborhood and decided to drive past the premium hoarder house before leaving the neighborhood…and they were out having a sale! As we got out of the van I heard the guy tell his wife “there he is! There he is!” Apparently she misplaced my number as she had wanted to call me. Lol! Now we have firmly established communication.
I spent $5500 at that sale Saturday. Whoah!!!!
Other sales were no slouches either. $100 items were laying around like plastic eggs on Easter.
Let’s see what I can remember off the top of my head of the bigger items. Yes there are so many good items that I forget them until I empty my van throughout the week.
- Xbox 360 250gb and a stack of games on an ask – $20
- Cars Lightning Mcqueen DVD/TV combo, CD player, alarm clock, and a bin of die cast*
- Rock Crawler RC Truck for $100 – sells for $300
- Bose Cinemate surround sound for $40 – sells for $150
- England Doc Martin Boots
* I’ll be back to the Cars sale in August as they have an entire closet packed full of Pixar Cars Die cast. All in mint condition. I’ve bought a massive collection of Pixar cars diecast before and it was incredibly lucrative. The die cast cars can be worth a TON.
Tomy Pokémon Plush Lot of 9
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266322285791
I didn’t make much on this listing, but it is the first listing that my daughter did for me on her own. All the research, listing, and photographs. If I’m gonna make it through the premium hoarder haul I’m gonna need her help making listings.
Sunpak 120J Auto Pro TTL Flash with Bulb Reflector TR-Pak II Cables Carry Case
https://www.ebay.com/itm/265787329073
This sale rules as I initially thought this was a low value item. I bought a large lot of photography equipment at goodwill last summer this was part of. I was making money on the other items in the lot so this was a massive unexpected dollop of icing on the cake.
Polo Ralph Lauren Silk Sweater Hand Knit Men’s Size L NWT
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266328557760
The first sale from the premium hoarder haul. Sold for $145 offer quickly after listing. This sweater is amazing. It has such an interesting texture.
Polo Ralph Lauren Clayton Button Down Shirt Cotton Men’s Size XXL White NWT VTG
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266328719110
Another premium hoarder sale for $70 best offer. Man I really hope I start selling 5-10 of these items a week! I sold 3 this weekend. Gotta keep that train fueled and rolling.
Ghost Party Board Game Complete Vintage 1992 Ravensburger
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266292593962
Always keep an eye out for vintage board games. They can be lucrative.
Lots more. Sooooo much. There is a packed apartment they are slowly unloading to a house in my neighborhood.
it was an eccentric family member of theirs. They know it is extremely valuable stuff, they just don’t care. The sellers are loaded too.
The back row of seats is down and packed to the ceiling.
I’ve already found 2 original receipts in 2 random boxes I checked.
some were bought brand new at stores. Others were bought at high end boutiques in NYC.
Some bought from vestiaire collective.I got curious and did the listings for the Spyder coat and bib overalls. They’re worth a bit more than $150. More like $300 for the pair. Nice!

Active Listings 13
Active List Value $285.87They have sold 3 items in the last week. They also finally got back on track and spent some time getting their purchased items listed. They are starting to see how things are compounding. While they officially have tripled the $20 into $60 cash in hand, they have 13 more items listed worth almost $300 that are already paid for. They really get the compounding nature of reinvesting their earnings.
Also this weekend I let my daughter do some listings for me 100% on her own. The key was having something she would REALLY be interested in researching – a trash bag full of pokemon plush dolls. She did a great job, and I was able to guide her to figuring out what to list on its own vs what should be lotted up. She didn’t want any money for the work. She just wanted ‘pick of the litter’ of the plushies to add to her personal collection. Yes, I think that works for me. Lol!
Well being the early bird got me some big fat worms again this saturday!
There was a sale in my neighborhood that had no clothes- just awesome hard goods.
At that sale I bought:
- an Embroidery sewing machine (sells for $150)
- A Nikon DSLR with 3 lenses (sells for $200+)
- 2 Coleman camp stoves ($50 each)
- A Spyder convertible snow suit set (sell for $150)
- A Firestone Ride Rite Airbag kit (listing for $300 as it is used)
- And the best item: https://www.ebay.com/itm/266322366931
I paid $200 for everything. There were a couple more odds n ends in there as well, so value over $2000.
The DJ laser show systems were only $5 each. There aren’t alot of comps but $500 is based on what I could find.
At another sale I asked about video games and the guy brought out a box with a complete Wii with games and a bunch of XBOX360 controllers and games. Paid $20 for that. I have the wii listings ready for photos – list price for the system with some junk games and a few good games listed separately was $150. The Xbox stuff will sell for about $75.
Never be afraid to ask for stuff that isn’t pulled out. You never know what else could also be for sale.

Listing 2023 weekly Avg 29Yeah it is slow, and it gives me cold chills to think of how bad it would be if I wasn’t listing frantically!
Some decent scores this weekend at yard sales. Plenty items got listed. I’m in full on ‘nose to the grindstone’ mode right now and just want to keep going full steam until my vacation in August. I’m wanting to hit my 1000 listings goal a week earlier so I need to list even more.
I can’t control sales right now but I can keep listing and sourcing high dollar items.
No big sales this week, so I’ll focus on the quick flips. All of these items sold in less than 24 hours.
Mundi My Big Fat Wallet Red Croc Print Flap Clutch
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266320386423
My wife actually got this for herself for $1 at a yard sale and decided she didn’t want it. Turns out it is quite a desirable wallet/purse. Unexpected score!
ENO Singlenest Hammock Olive/Green with ENO straps Atlas Suspension System
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266320387148
Paid up at $10 at a yard sale, but this one just felt right. Bought it without research and trusted my gut. Paid off with a lightning quick sale.
Sony PlayStation 2 PS2 Slim Black Console Only PARTS / REPAIR Does Not Read Disc
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266319449000
Bought this with a stack of games as part of a ‘pile’ offer so my COGS was about $15. Unfortunately the disc drive won’t read. These are repairable…but not by me! I parted out the controllers and cables an listed the console for parts/repair. Sold for $25 quickly which is the going rate for a parts PS2. Bummer it wasn’t working, but take the money and move on!
Capresso Jura Infinity 560 Conical Burr Coffee Grinder FOR PARTS
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266312089461
Another bummer listing that turned a nice profit on a quick sale. I tested this and couldn’t get the darn thing to run. I was going to just toss it, but decided to list it for parts. It sold within a day for full price.
Denby Blue Jetty Covered Butter Dish England Stoneware
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266312073730
Sold quickly after listing. Hopefully more of this dinnerware starts to sell. The potential profit on this lot was insane!
Man everybody must be super busy with summer stuff on here.
So far I’ve created 27 drafts for a list price of $3000. I know there are plenty more of the big unicorns in there so I’m feeling confident my final list value will be over $8k, possibly $10k on the “premium hoarder” sale.
I haven’t made it live yet, but one of the items was a sealed Queer as Folk complete DVD set. I got it thinking that it would be worth an easy $50 as it looks like a very premium style box set. Well it’s way better than that! I’m kinda stuck on deciding where to price this one. I was going with $250, but there is a comp from 1 year ago that sold for $450. I think there may be some differences in variance in the box sets. I may bump it up to $399 and see what happens.
