Yes that is correct. Depending on what you are wanting to track, you can select different time frames.
weekly STR for my style inventory is about 1%, so if I want to sell 45 items a week on average then I need about 4500 listings.
I also log quarterly STR so I can get a feel for how my sales will vary throughout the year. It keeps me from panicking when sales are slow. I know when
45 sales with a $45 average sales price is my long term goal as that is a $100k annual sales store. 4500 items is about as much as I can efficiently store as well.

Two good examples of why shoes have to be researched a bit at time of purchase. These catch my eye, but until you research the model you don’t know if you have undesirable (but nice) shoes or something special. I’ve put back really awesome shoes because there was no market, and I’ve been shocked by some that were interesting enough to at least research. For sure though – I don’t leave a thrift shop until I’ve researched every item in my cart and applied my sourcing standards. Both of these pair sold for full price and I paid $5-8 each.

Sold on sent offer for $60. I got lucky with a buyer in Virginia so my shipping was less than $7. I rarely use free shipping but on some items it can be strategic when comparing to the market. When the buyer is local it’s just a bonus.
Your ebay store has been overperforming for a while. You sold 8 items on an inventory of less than 300 – all of which are in a very specific niche? CONGRATULATIONS! That’s a resounding success! A store that size (unless you are selling underpriced hot cakes) I would expect to generate less than 10 sales a week.
My store has about a 1% STR every week when I’m actively listing. Back in March I had a week of 10 sales for $286. That really was a doomsday feeling week. Since then I’ve listed almost 500 new items.
Keep your head up and keep plugging. If ebay no longer works for you, feel free to pivot to wherever the iron is hot. That’s why so many youtube resellers have left ebay and went all in on live selling. You can always come back to ebay if you need to.
Live selling is eventually going to get oversaturated and then hit a decline. The growth it is currently experiencing is not sustainable. Will it be as epic of a collapse as the metaverse? I doubt it. It’s here to stay in some form or another. Just another tool in the tool belt.

The rest has been collecting dust on a death cart for years. Well no more! I’ve been working through the rest of it. There was a big pile of Mack trucks that this was in and I originally discounted all of it as undesirable low priority. Well…I was wrong. I didn’t realize this one was a storage truck AND it was full of minty cars with real rubber tires. Some of the cars that were in this thing sell for $30 each.

I wanted to get as much done as possible before I left to have a good chance to maintain sales during my time away setting. I turned on time away on Friday morning, but also got a negative feedback and a return around the same time. Needless to say, NO sales on Friday and very few over the weekend. So strong week turned into a decent week as most of my sales were Monday thru Thursday.
It was just a solid week of sales. Nothing too earth shattering but my non- home run items were solid in the $30-40 range.

I was pretty picky as there was a bunch of stuff I would normally pick but the STR/ASP just wasn’t good enough.
i ended up with a bag of stuff for $25. The wild card is a vintage oscillator test equipment device. It may be worth a couple hundred to the right buyer. I need to photograph it still but will list for $500 based on a comp.

Garmin Dakota 20 Handheld GPS Navigator With Belt Case Tested Working BundleI got two of these at a yard sale along with some other odds n ends. I took a swing on a few other items here but they ended up just being $15-20 items once I researched. Still profitable but I don’t really want to source items like that each of these GPS units will sell for $50+ with a great STR.
Women’s skirts is a FLOODED market.
Men’s jeans/pants can be good. Sizing isn’t bonkers like women’s sizing and once men find a specific model/size they’ll buy 20 of them. LOL!
I recommend just strolling through and looking for NWT items poking out of the racks. Your STR will be better. Mall brands NWT are always good for $25.

Long story short – unless you have something extra special your odds of selling are low unless you price REALLY low – like $10. I stick to unique skirts or mall brand (EX: Banana Republic) NWT skirts.
No yard sales this week, but I did stop at a few Goodwills. I picked up some good shoes that will get put up on ebay quickly instead of going into a death pile thanks to my current system prioritizing shoe listings.
One neat item I picked up was a new in box acrylic paint rotating rack. It holds 160 of the little craft acrylic paint bottles. I paid $15 but it will sell almost instantly for $100.
There is a 1980’s Magnavox console TV there that I’m sorely tempted to buy and list, but it takes up so much room! Those old console tv’s with the ornate woodwork and cloth covered speakers can go for really good money to the right buyer.
I also just missed out on a pinball machine on FBMP. I don’t really have any desire to do pinball anymore, but this was a machine that sells for $3500 that just needed a little bit of work and was asking $1k. I messaged within an hour but it was already spoken for. Oh well! I’m kind of relieved.

I have pretty much nothing in this. It was from a big box of power rangers misc toys that was a pile throw in last summer at a yard sale. I have a pretty good process for listing lots like this now. Use google image search to get my keywords, do a search to determine ASP and STR. List individually if worth it, set aside if not. This one was clearly worth it.
Then at the end the pile I have that is unlisted I’ll either list a bulk lot or just donate it if it is junk.

So I’ve had this console system sitting in my way at the edge of my ebay work desk for YEARS. About 2 years ago I tested everything to list it….then didn’t. I was using the amp to power my record player to test records for a while but I haven’t done that…again…in at least 2 years.
So last weekend I was in a wild hair to list all the stuff in my way and all these components made the cut. I sold it…YAY…but now I have to ship it…booo! It actually wasn’t too bad. I padded the crap out of the amp and floated the tuner in it’s own box. I figure UPS will destroy it no matter how well I pack. It arrives tomorrow so we’ll see! Damaged or not, it’s gone and won’t be coming back.

Sold this one quick. It’s nothing special as a sale, but the content is awesome. I was an avid kettlebell user before I got sick with Covid and studied this material alot. Having a knowledgeable trainer is a requirement though.
I had an coworker teach me initially. We just went out in the grass on lunch time and I SPECTACULARLY blew out the seat of my khakis the first time I properly did a swing. Fortunately I had an extra pair of pants in my car. I then made sure to wear flexible pants from then on out.
