I had 235 auctions end last Sunday, and sold about 30 from the pile. So I have 46 sold items this week, twice as many as normal. The vast majority of the solds (28) were my team lots, which mostly sold for the opening $20 bid at auction. I would have loved more bidding wars, but that’s just not how eBay auctions really work anymore. Still, it was nice to clear out the inventory and kind of reset for the start of Q2, and I still made $5 to $10 profit even on the lowest selling lots. I also kept making more team lots throughout the week, and a few sold at my normal asking price of $39.99, with my favorite being this Nebraska Cornhuskers lot since that’s about as niche as you can get. And wouldn’t you know it…sold in less than a day, and the buyer was in Nebraska.
I had one auction erupt into a bidding war, and it was a trading card that is on the intersection of sports cards and art collectibles. It was this “Babe Ruth” Play Dead card from the artist Alex Pardee’s Brightmares set which started at a bid of $19.99 and got bid all the way up to $46! Like a lot of these art cards, this was released for a limited time and then it was gone. I bought this solely from Terapeak research, and pretty thrilled with a $30 profit.
I bought this Roy Clark signed photo from the same consignment seller I got the Pardee from, maybe a few weeks apart. Though it only sold for my opening bid of $19.99, that left me with a solid $15 profit.
I made just a few bucks profit on this Maverick McNealy signed golf flag, and this was a bit of a slower sell that took a few months. Not sure I would be so quick to pick up signed golf flags even for a few bucks, but at least they’re light and foldable.
Similar story of a few bucks profit on this Carson Rehkopf signed puck, which was the only signed puck or baseball to sell out of my box full, and it was all the way at the bottom. When I get more into a spring cleaning mode in a month or two, I might just consolidate and do a box of signed memorabilia for $50 or $100 or whatever the right level would be.
Here’s an oldie but goodie: I sold another signed KJ Adams 8×10 Kansas Jayhawks photo for a net of $6.52. I bought these 5 at a time back in 2023 for less than $2 each and have sold them in drips and drabs ever since. I really don’t enjoy selling things for $10, but in a large quantity, it really does make sense because those $5 profits slowly add up.
What did you sell this week?

Nike Shox 317549-002 Black Metallic Silver Leather Sneakers Shoes Women Size 10
Nike Shox are a great shoe to pick up as long as they are in good shape. They have a dedicated fan base.

Ping G2i Blade Style Putter Head Cover Black Blue White
Golf club head covers can be great sales. People will get very precious over their clubs and then practically give away head covers. There are lots of them that sell for $15-25.

@retro-treasures-wv Most likely break-down of the Canada balsam (known as balsam separation) on that lens. It was used as glue between lens elements. The other curse is fungus, which shows up as filaments. That seems to etch the glass. The balsam fault is repairable, I think.

Now that is fascinating! I figured my buyers are folks who intend to restore these lenses. I’m hoping that at some point one of them messages me what they did. This one in particular is going overseas.
The level of precision in some of these lenses is just amazing. When I first found them, just holding them in my hand I could sense the quality (and dollars! LOL)

For whatever reason, my sales are pretty much all RA while I haven’t been listing. Some are mother’s day gifts.
