Thank you for this. Is there anywhere else on eBay this has been posted that confirms this? I would hate to cancel just based on a forum post and be hit with the early termination fees.
Can confirm this as well. Missing about 300 listings.
I think you will be fine. I think INR cases are covered through eBay. I think only the INAD cases have no seller protection.
Just got a chargeback under managed payments, again. This one is for a Verona Collection Figurine that arrived damaged to the buyer. The buyer opened a return, which I accepted and provided a shipping label. Buyer never sent the item back and a day before the return closing automatically, the buyer opened an INAD dispute. I called Managed Payments and the rep pretty much told me I was out of luck. He said the financial institution will most likely side with the buyer and I will have to eat the cost. Now, the reason I want it back is because I opened an insurance claim with USPS and they are requesting to take the item to the post office for inspection. I obviously can’t do that if I don’t have the item back. I fear this may be recurring theme with chargebacks on Ebay. I never had any issues with Paypal at all. I don’t think I ever lost a case there. Now I’m going for my second chargeback case lost.
Oh, the best ones are those when buyers contact us letting us know they found our item cheaper elsewhere and if we can lower the price.
I would reply stating your return policy. I had something similar happen before and buyer opened a chargeback INAD case (without buyer returning item). I did everything right (send item within specified time, as described, etc) and lost the chargeback case. While I don’t know exactly the reason, I assumed it is because I did not reply to buyer when they contacted us. I could very well be wrong on this though.
I’m done with Godaddy Bookkeeping as well. I was getting ready to start cleaning/fixing the transactions to get ready for tax time and noticed it is quite a mess. Nothing has been fixed for Managed Payments. I have noticed GSP transactions are all messed up and Fedex shipping labels costs don’t even show up anywhere under expenses. Anybody know something reliable with Managed Payments? I may also have to create an Excel Workbook going forward.
I am getting massive number of complaints where packages are not moving and have gone into a black hole. I have changed my handling time from 1 business day to 3, but this is very worrisome.

Jay, you may be right, one order just went through. Just need to wait for the other ones.
11/01/2020 at 10:03 am in reply to: How To Handle Global Shipping NOT AS DESCRIBED Returns ( Please Read ) #83056Thanks for the info. I feel I’ve been lied to all this time by the eBay reps. Good info to know for the future.
11/01/2020 at 1:50 am in reply to: How To Handle Global Shipping NOT AS DESCRIBED Returns ( Please Read ) #83037It is still not 100% clear. At mark 5:16, Griff mentions the shipping label cost for returning the item has to be negotiated with buyer, which is what all of the eBay Anchor reps have told me. Also, at mark 6:04, it is mentioned that return has to be accepted??
10/31/2020 at 9:59 pm in reply to: How To Handle Global Shipping NOT AS DESCRIBED Returns ( Please Read ) #83030Well, I’ve had different experience when handling GSP Not as Described cases. Basically, how we have handled these cases is when we get one, we do not accept the return, however, we do call eBay. Every single time we have called eBay they mentioned we need to pay for return shipping since the item is not as described. So, one item that we remembered have sent back (fortunately it was only from Canada), we had to request (all of these were steps from eBay reps) a quote from buyer for return shipping. Once we knew what the quote was, we had to go to Paypal and issue the return shipping funds. After this we had to call eBay so they’d escalate the return and make the buyer uploaded the tracking. Once tracking showed delivered, we needed to issue a refund. Never had a situation where buyer was responsible for shipping item back on Not as Described cases.
INAD Chargebacks with Paypal forced the buyers to return the items for a refund at their own expense. Most never did. But with eBay, it seems they simply issue a refund to buyer not caring if they sent the item back.
Jay, yes, I called eBay and they mentioned that this was opened with buyer’s financial institution and they had nothing to do with it, and there was not much they could do. I think you should be fine if buyer opened the chargeback for “item not received”, however, if it was opened for “item not as described” I hope you have a better outcome than myself.
