I had 1,309 active ebay listings this morning. However, within the last 20 minutes my listings have dropped to 1,267! Every time I refresh, the number of active listings drop! They are not sales and they are not on my ended listings page. My ebay app on my phone is showing 1,304 listings. I’m afraid if I refresh it, I’ll lose whatever listings ebay is deleting. I don’t think it could be listings for Required Item Specifics because I updated every one of those listings and my account has indicated for weeks that I have 0 listings requiring item specifics. But what else could it be??
I’m going to try to compare my listings on the app to the listings on the website to hopefully determine which listings are being deleted.

Yeah, my total has dropped too, and so has the better half’s ,although (so far) not by nearly so many. Others are reporting about this on the Community Boards. Some have said their number has gone back up. I’m just going to wait it out for now….seems like a bizarre glitch of some sort.

Okay, thanks MyCottage. There’s comfort in knowing it’s not just me. However, I am now looking into paying for a service that will backup my listings, such as InkFrog. I hate to pay for another service but it will probably be worth the peace of mind.

Huh, all good on our homefront.
Sounds like a glitch. I agree that Inkfrog is nice to have as a backup.

I heard this was going on, so I just ended the 200 listings that would have relisted next. I’m in process of relisting them. It’s a pain because I have a few with multiple quantities. I have to write them down and then make sure they don’t get relisted to the original quantity. If I’ve sold one or more, I can’t have it go back up.
This happened 2 1/2 years ago, I think, in the summer? Just one of the most stupid glitches ever. I can’t believe that eBay wouldn’t have programming in place to make sure this didn’t happen again. I’ve lost about 30 or so listings. If they don’t fix the issue automatically, how will I know which ones were lost?

Sharyn, I’m doing the exact same thing. I ended a ton of listings, had to write down how many quantities of each were left and now I’m relisting. Not what I wanted to do today! I really hope the 40+ listings that already disappeared, aren’t gone forever.

Im pushing way for the afternoon and see what things are like later 🙂

Hey guys, info from my other eBay group:
eBay missing listings? Here’s the deal, you might notice that your active listing count in your seller hub is lower than it should be and you have no idea which listings are missing or where they went. Here’s the info I have from eBay Concierge so until we hear otherwise, we’ll assume this is the issue. All listings are Good Til Canceled which means every 31 days they end and then automatically relist. For some reason this year because February is a shorter month, it has somehow affected how this is happening. The eBay guy I talked to basically it’s like they’re cramming 2-3 days worth of relisting into one day, they’re working on it and it SHOULD all resolve in the next 24 hours.
So bottom line, don’t panic, don’t try to figure it out or find a way to fix it. Just keep on keepin’ on and let the IT team do what they need to do. Take note of what your listing number should be and how many you’re short and if doesn’t resolve in the next day, we’ll take it from there. Thanks!! -

Amatino, Thanks, I kind of figured it was some kind of ebay glitch that should correct itself in time. I’m willing to wait it out (It helps that I use SixBit, so I have the old listings available there should I need to relist….)

Amatino thanks for the info!

I just watched this happen in the process of my weekly routine of sending out offers to watchers. I see 1397 listings in my seller hub on both desktop and mobile and 2311 active on mobile. I’m not the type to waste a lot of energy about these sorts of things, but I don’t use SixBit or InkFrog so I’m a little squirrelly right now!

Can confirm this as well. Missing about 300 listings.

Follow up information received:
eBay apologizes for any inconvenience. They say it will not happen next year as they’re correcting the error in the program, but to please be patient. As they’re processing three days’ worth of listings, (everything that would have ended on a 29, 30, or 31 is messed up) it’s not going to be sorted out in a day.
Also, for those who have month end payments go through, the payments may be delayed or go through on a different date. They say they will sort it out.

So grateful for your updates, Amatino. I’m bleeding listings at this point, down to around 1200, but it’s good to know that this is being worked on. For the most part, eBay is pretty good about quickly handling problems like this that affect a huge number of users…(hopefully not famous last words!!)

I just watched one of my active listings renew. It disappeared from my active listings page and the search results but I could still get to the actual listing with the URL that I saved so I believe the listings are still there but they are missing from the search index. My guess is that the refreshing the search index has a delay. I’m going to be extra safe. I just ended 200 listings that were set to renew in the next 18 hours. I painfully remember when all our photos were deleted as the listings renewed and ebay promised they would be recovered. I’m not waiting around to see what happens this time. I’ll relist those 200 tomorrow if the problem is fixed.

All my missing listings were back in the Active List by this morning.

Yes, it looks like all of mine (or all but a few) are back this morning, as I’m back at my usual level of ~2300 give or take a few. Impressive that eBay was able to fix such a wide-ranging problem so quickly!

Yes, mine are back, and I’m breathing easier now. Kind of funny thinking about all the jokes and memes I’ve seen about non-existing days in February. Something on the order of “Let’s give up drinking alcohol for February 29, 30, and 31; who’s with me?”. The eBay glitch, though, wasn’t too funny.

Latest update: all listings should be restored within 42 hours. If yours are not, please contact eBay CS for them to fix your account.

Possible ripple effect?
I noticed that eBay has charged for a few listing fees on March 1 for GTC items that should be included in my free listings. These listings renewed somehow in the first 3 hours after midnight. Probably has something to do with the glitch described above.
Follow up:
Just strange.
These were all items that should have ended on day 29, 30. Now they renew again on Mar 29, etc. So I guess eBay was correct to charge for them. Just strange.
