09/20/2019 at 3:03 pm in reply to: Does Return Reason: "Doesn't seem authentic" Raise Flags on Ebay? #68069
That’s what I am thinking. Unless I get those very often then I should worry. Got one last year and now one this year, which both were bogus, but we still accepted the returns and carried on. I did call eBay Anchor support and told me that unless I don’t take care of the return and let eBay decide on the buyer’s favor, then it shouldn’t affect us.
I think they are missing the mark, however, there is still a big issue with eBay’s new change. I think the Adblock is a non-issue. I sell items through promoted listings all of the time, so I don’t think the issue is there. What I do think is an issue, and I have confirmed it by doing a search on my store, is that your original listing will disappear in favor of the promoted listing (when eBay flags the the original listing as being ranked lower than the promoted listing). So, essentially, you will be paying MORE on promoted listings than you were before (considerably more). I run a small percentage promoted listings on all of my items perpetually and just by looking at my current ad fees, they have escalated quite a bit. I would recommend everyone look at their invoices and make sure ad fees haven’t climbed too high from what you are willing to pay.
Thank you for the reply, Temudgin. It just seems strange that everywhere else is higher at a commercial rate, but not on eBay. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll stop using Shipstation in a heartbeat and buy eBay labels, but I just would like some confirmation as I wouldn’t want to be hit with adjustments in the future.
Can anybody else confirm the prices shown on their shipping label screen? Thank you
The biggest advantage to offer free returns is that you actually get seller protection this way. If there is a return that you feel buyer has abused (such as sent an item back in different condition, or worse, empty package) you have the ability to issue a refund less than 100%, the lowest being 50%, if the item sent back still retains some value. If an item is returned in a condition that has absolutely no value for resell, you can contact Ebay for coverage through seller protection. By not offering returns, you are on your own. Ebay will NOT protect you in any case when you did not offer free returns; pretty much you are on your own.
12/14/2018 at 7:42 pm in reply to: Crazy Buyer trying to scam me or rightful owner of my estate sale finds? #53394I think you are engaging too much with this person. I personally would even block them from purchasing from your store – you just don’t know how much craziness is in some people. They may try to purchase and return something different. Unless it is photographs or personal documents from them, you really don’t owe anyone, not legally (I assume you still have receipts for the transactions) or morally. The deal was between you and the Estate company. I would just tell them that they need to contact the Estate Company they worked with so they can contact you. Should the Estate company contact you (a stretch here), you may want to negotiate with them where you come out on top with some profit.
12/04/2018 at 4:15 pm in reply to: USPS – The Post Office will be closed on Wednesday, December 5th #52665From eBay’s Selling Announcements:
USPS has announced very limited operations for December 5, 2018, in observance of the National Day of Mourning for the passing of President George H.W. Bush.
As such,
All Post Office locations will be closed.
Regular mail will not be delivered.
Package delivery will be limited.eBay will automatically protect your Seller Performance and your late shipment rate will not be impacted for USPS shipments during this closure (any defects incurred will be removed and correctly reflected in your monthly seller evaluation).
And remember, as a holiday best practice, please ensure to handle within or faster than your handling time.
Thank you for selling on eBay.
12/03/2018 at 9:57 pm in reply to: USPS – The Post Office will be closed on Wednesday, December 5th #52616I wonder if we need to do anything on our end so we are not hit on our metrics for not shipping on Wednesday. I have a one day handling, I may need to adjust to two days to cover Wednesday.
Thank you, Mike!
OMG, thank you! I hadn’t looked back at this thread, but thank you so much for the info!
This is one of the reasons we cancelled our Bonanza store. We did a little bit of research and came up with that Google sees the listings as duplicate and, thus, considered it spam and suppressed the listings.
Yes, I thought it was a Howdy Doody as well but upon researching it further, I figured it was probably not it.
PVC/Plastic. Not sure what it’s filled with as it does weigh 5 lbs.
