Got the Brochure from Frick, the work is listed, no picture. There may be some records at the Smithsonian within Marshes personal diaries or book keeping. I had looked before, but maybe not the correct year.
I sent off an inquiry to Christies today.02/19/2019 at 4:29 pm in reply to: Art experts, MDC Galleries or others, please advise me on Wyeth print #57303Hello Everybody-
Frick Library reference desk in NYC answered the phone on the first ring and the very nice lady knew exactly what I was talking about regarding my request last week; And then she told me they would be sending the scans of the brochure at the end of this week. And then we talked about how NY and PNW have switched weather this winter…Very nice Lady. I have never made a request like this and it was very easy.
cheers

I am waiting to hear back from Frick I’m not sure I requested it correctly. But I’m going to follow up this week. Also going to call the Seattle Art Museum about their copy. I’m glad you’re excited, me too!02/08/2019 at 11:05 am in reply to: Art experts, MDC Galleries or others, please advise me on Wyeth print #56621Hey there-
The painting is now in a climate controlled 5×5 locker in a bike box. Road Trip to Seattle next week to check out the catalogue, weather permitting.
Hausfrau you are amazing , thank you so much. Yes you are spot on in your report. You cracked the case wide open.
In the meantime big weather event coming to the PNW , You salty snow dogs would laugh at everyone here losing their minds with 6 inches of snow. gas fireplace, honda generator, 2 day shipping, we be ok.

You are amazing thank you! Thank you. The link did not have pictures. were there any? OMG, wow. ok. Oh boy. Time to start figuring out a plan. head spinning…Suggestions please! feel like I’m on antiques roadshow …
Lukas great job on the lures! I also spend way to much time on research- the eye is always drawn to something foreign – I’ve included the history to some military relics when I get them directly from the estate of a veteran who clearly served in infamous battles, wars, etc.
In 20 years, the collector ( or their estate ) will want to know what the heck these things are, and their historical value. Provenance of sorts.
What lures should I be looking for on the west coast? wood plugs?
sally@ Jay “I’d add “Do you want this item in your life?””
…I know your talking about a Ouija Board….;) Heh Heh

I never heard back from anyone at the big auction houses, so I’m trying to research it myself before reaching out to a broker. If I could find Marsh’s name on a list of entries in the La Tausca art competition in 1947 or 1948 it would help with authentication… I did find out it was a travelling exposition that made it from NY to the west coast so thats a good lead.I did find an image on https://www.the-athenaeum.org/art/detail.php?ID=96305 (still not sure what this website is actually)
of a painting very similar in size and subject of Marshs work, so that is promising….
And Mike never revealed his opinion as to authenticity, so it might be a big fat fake. Don’t fall over yet. If it turns out to be authentic you’ll be the first to know 😉 and I will be the first to fall over…
sallyHi Ben, good luck with the adventures!
Steve Great cinematography at the end. Way to brave -25 to get that amazing shot, and with a huge smile! Love it – Thank you !
Mike I’ve got to find something to try this test on, great tip!

1 Month away from a complete Ebay journey around the sun, what an amazing ride. The power of saying yes, shifting thinking , taking huge leaps of blind faith is certainly enlightening.
It’s taken so much more work than I had bargained for. And the rewards are more than I ever imagined. My ebay store listings were over 200 for a day, now hovering in the 190’s with listings in the pipeline. I’m excited to see what my 12 month numbers look like.
I’ve cracked 5 figures including local sales(craigslist, offerup etc) and hope to have a 10 k (gross) first year on ebay, March 1st.
The Airbnb did not make the nut in January and the Ebay money saved us from having to dip into the designated business reserves. The Airbnb experiment has a 36 month timeline. If we can’t sustain it, or it becomes unenjoyable, we will sell or turn it into a long term rental.
Still working on inventory tracking and storage logistics. The warehouse at the rental may not be a viable storage option as I don’t like being on the property picking parts when guests are around. I’ve been able to sneak in and grab parts when doing trash removal during bookings , but the spaces share a driveway and its not ideal. And we are accumulating a cache of rental decor , cleaning supplies , tools, paint etc in that space.
I have a garage/workshop on my homestead and am wondering if I can carve out space here. Waiting for the solution to come to me.
I learned how to make a spreadsheet (poorly) in google sheets. Most of my 2018 items and all of my 2019 items. Yes I’ve never made an excel spreadsheet. Youtube, thank you. Taxes will be interesting…
Off to clean and repair my sofa and pick up some auction items I will be listing later this week to get back above 200!
My hat is off to anyone and everyone making their living selling on Ebay, it is hard , I could not do it.best
sallyHi Ryanne- I came back to update and saw your question.I get lost on the forum all the time if don’t keep up with the threads-sorry
Thanks for the compliment, Yes bought the house for Airbnb, we are a mile away from a US Open PGA Golf Course.
Although we’ve got no bookings from that because they closed the course to put in new greens last fall. It’s supposed to be up and running by March…log update to follow….
@ChristineR
Maybe just list it at the high number while hunting for a gallery? Ya never know… The Reginald Marsh tempura painting I posted here, I sent emails to Sotheby’s and the other auction house in LA, just auto email responses. I fell down a rabbit hole when looking for authenticators and appraisers. This lady is an appraiser and a broker near me – I post the link just as an example, I don’t know this person. Mike probably knows if working with a broker is a viable option.Keep us posted on the tile quest…;)
Hi Speckled- Lots of treasures in Fla!
