Mark “try to keep clean for a year” haha I’ll do my best. I’ve never been an outlaw before which explains why I’m no good at it. is it 3 in a calendar year or rolling?
If I screw up at a rate of 1 per 5 mos, I may be OK. One random Velcro indiscretion or some other violation already exists in my listings I’m sure.
I list a fair share of military WWII items and always get the prohibited items warning pop up – and since I don’t sell hate (nazi) I continue to list. Never a problem. Sold some Navy Pilots wings this morning 🙂Another lesson learned…
When persian rugs are outlawed, only outlaws will own persian rugs…And RR keys.

“Listings that don’t follow this policy in the future will be ended. In addition, there will be a temporary 3-day restriction placed on your account, and your other listings will be hidden from search during this period. All fees paid or payable for listings that are ended and/or hidden from search will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account.”
My crime? Listing an antique railroad key from a defunct rail company. I am guilty, and uneducated. So of course I didn’t see a problem listing something I’ve seen a bazillion listings on. Ignorance is bliss until now.
I searched for one of my items by title and it came up for me-
Vintage USS Nimitz Hat Cap New Old Stock Made in USA Navy USN Aircraft CarrierSo I think it applies to future violations?
Crazy Bones Gogos is what they are…thanks to an ebay shopper who sent me a message this morning… No sale yet. Tons of them listed and 1/2 a ton solds…Thanks Y’all
Thanks Sharyn, I’ve got them listed with alien and anime keywords now…? paws crossed –
@debitsandcredits I hear ya, it’s frustrating. Sometimes I can find the broadest category with the lowest promoted average rate.
collectable travel memorabilia 6%
collectable state plates 4%
collectable plate 6%– IE If this were a collectable pennant the rate for that category is over 7% or list it in travel for 6%.
– working on a listing right now of WWII sweetheart Earrings-Tiny screw back p-38 lighting planes, sterling. List in jewelry or original WII ? There’s been a few solds in WWII but I hope I can get a better price in vintage / estate jewelry. I can see someone limiting the search to earrings or jewelry before limiting a WWII search due to sheer volume of results.
Who knows what really happens on the other end of the promoted listings toggle…s
Amatino,
I feel for you! I’ve had those days too! It usually involved mislabeling orders ….My solution now is to take a break, take a walk , listen to the Universe. Is there a reason you are getting slowed down ? Do I sound like Brene Brown? Lol!
Thanks Amatino!
@ Ironman -Actually I adapted the idea from “stay here” airbnb series. They recommend spending 10% of the first nights gross on goodies.
The only reason I can ‘stage’ the house is I literally live down the street. I head over before check in , put out the treats, get the lighting on, music on (NPR Jazz…) cut flowers if we have them growing and put the gas fireplace on in the cold months. Pre guest staging is my very favorite part of hosting.
@Ryanne You two must have been sending out Airbnb vibes westward- Thanks, I’m going to download it and listen to it on my flight to LA tomorrow. And the house will be rented while we are on vacation and 5 day shipping on ebay.Perfect way to celebrate the land of the free, and the freedom to pursue happiness…
Happy 4th Scavengers and happy birthday ‘merica
They will prob put water in the container first to cool the hot grease….Doh!
I will let you know if its worth the 20-
We leave sparkling water, a bottle of Wa state wine and 1 Rainier Beer for each guest – If there are kids I get the juice boxes. We also have a guest book.
Do you leave personalized treats?
The link did not paste oops!
@Jay, just the one rental…Ryanne I ordered this for the bacon grease after listening to your podcast. The bags look like coffee bags. Hmmm…
Trying to head off plumbing problems. Just replaced a toilet that started leaking during a guest stay.
Thats a fun topic- When shi* hits the fan and the house is rented! Plumbing issues may be our rentals kryptonite.Hi Ryanne –
I’ve been enjoying your S&B Podcast very much. Last episode about supplies to leave at the house was a good one! Do you have kleenex tissue at your rentals? I do. I keep forgetting creamer- I try to pick up fresh cream then I forget. I am probably out of powder cream. Great reminder, thank you.And makeup wipes I put them out, and have not had to many ruined towels. I buy the single pack in bulk and throw a bunch of extras in the drawer. Only once has a guest decided to take them all (about 20 packs) home.
We were at this very nice Airbnb last weekend- It was insanely cheap 175 a night split between 2 couples- This was a business trip to buy wine for our Airbnb of course….

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/28202543?source_impression_id=p3_1561213301_8lg200rzjEDNj3tAThe host met us at the property, as she has a grumpy neighbor to warn us about. She has 3 properties and does a lot of the decor herself- repurposed stuff. Not one box of kleenex in the house?
It is fun to see what other hosts are doing with their business-
We are in the high season now and making lots of hay while the sun shines, thankfully- as the ebay gods are certainly not helping make the nut this month.
was I supposed to post this on your other blog?
Is it possible yet to give permissions to employees on the Ebay? Anyone know if this is still in the works?
