I think that would be inappropriate and against best ebay and overall business practices. This is a public forum, so anything posted here could become available worldwide. In addition, while I am not a lawyer, I think posting anything negative about someone else which could negatively effect them (ruining of one’s reputation and/or negatively effecting one’s ability to freely participate in the online shopping experience) could become a liable cause of action against the seller and/or ebay. I think it could also leave J&R open to take down notices.

02/28/2018 at 4:44 pm in reply to: How to Deal with Returns Arriving in Different Condition…. #34082It seems that ebay needs to hire a psychologist who just focuses on the psychology of business and can instruct them in best business and behavior (company, seller, and buyer) pratices and how to reinforce them. For having been around for at least 10 years, it appears that ebay is still engaging in the trial and error approach in certain areas.
I would really love to hear what Top Rated Sellers think about this new ebay stipulation that in order to be a Top Rated Seller one must give free 30 day returns. I really do not think it is ok for ebay to put that stipulation on being a Top Rated Seller.
I really have to agree with Jay here. For your own protection, engage as little as possible, keep any exchanges brief, be consistantly on the same message, be professional, and refer them back to ebay and the post office if needed. If ebay sees this buyer has a history of doing this, they are going to have to step in and protect you as a seller for their own benefit.
I am not a sewer, but I would imagine that having the buttons included may be a deterrent for some buyers especially if the price in the listing is effected by the inclusion of the buttons. There may be a buyer who just needs the material. From simply a fiscal perspective, you may want to list the buttons by themselves. If there is something special about them, having them listed separately my fetch you a few extra dollars than having them as part of the fabric listing.

Try a steamer. Make sure the steamer is not too close to the shirt so as to avoid damaging the shirt. Then start from the bottom and go up part by part. The wrinkles should start to disappear.
Shayward23,
I would offer that if you are selling this as a work shirt, then you must sell the “work image” as well as the shirt. Buyers do not take time to imagine what it will look like without wrinkles and many men (regardless of personal style preferences) are not going to buy a wrinkled shirt regardless of why they are buying it. In addition, I would offer that you take the shirt off of the mannequin and put it on a hanger with a lighter background. You want the buyer to see the shirt and think of it as “work ready” not something they will need to put time and energy into. Eventhough it will show up wrinkled due to having been stored and shipped, those factors are not taken into consideration when viewing an item for the first time and making an immediate decision as to whether to continue to look and possibliy purchase or to move on and continue looking/shopping.NiNjA BoB,
Just wondering why this item is not being brought to an auction house. It sounds like it’s a piece that could fetch a large amount of money.
Sigilini,
For the second recorder that says Standard on it, you may want to look under Cassette Deck Player recorder. That looks like something an educational institute might use. If you havn’t already, you may want to list it with a price compariable to the other Cassette Deck Players. Make sure you include all identifying information in your listing in order to make it easy to find.02/22/2018 at 12:48 am in reply to: Cleaning Tips – How to Remove Price Marks, Tags, and other Annoyances #33603From the Today show online
How to remove lipstick from your clothes.

That is really good to know. Thank you for bringing it forward so all of us can benefit from it. If you have a current tip, it would be great if you could put it in that thread so it becomes active again allowing for others to add to it.
It would be great to have a thread titled something like cleaning tips, so anyone researching cleaning could just type those words in and easily find the thread.
02/19/2018 at 9:51 pm in reply to: Neutral Feedback for Item Stolen Out of Mailbox – How to handle? #33406I would be interested to hear what more experienced seller’s might say, but in my opinion, in regard to the feedback, I would call ebay and see about getting it taken off. Something being stolen from a buyer’s mailbox has nothing to do with you as the seller. If ebay will not remove it, you may want to let it go and move on. I think perspective buyer’s (upon reading the feedback) will see that the neutral feedback had nothing to do with you as a seller. Packages being stolen off of porches is a current day crime wave that seems to be escalating with both individuals and groups alike participating.
In addition, Priority Mail comes with insurance, so you may want to call the post office tomorrow to file a claim.
Congratulations! Having 20 items listed is huge. Every single seller who is a part of SL knows the work, energy, time, patience, persistence, and effort it took to navigate Ebay in order to get even one item listed much less 20. Celebrate each achievement. Before you know it, you will be up to 500 listings and wondering where the time went.
02/19/2018 at 12:42 am in reply to: How to Deal with Returns Arriving in Different Condition…. #33316Sounds like a really frustrating situation. After addressing these situations with ebay and taking pictures, if you are stuck with the items and are not able to recoop your monies, I would offer a few thoughts:
1. For anything new you sell, add a restocking fee.
2. Take one item at a time and see if it can be redeemed in order to be resold. Depending on the material makeup of the sweater, the stretched sweater may be able to regain its structure by running water over it, gently squeezing to get excess water out, and then laying it on a flat surface to dry.
3. Check on YouTube for fixes for each item based on what kind of material the item is made of and what the issue is.
4. After you do that, I would offer to just remind yourself that these unfortunate situations occur in the world of business and online selling and that they are only temporary.
5. Keep moving forward by listing some items that really interest you or have a high dollar value.-
