It is stipulated in ebay’s documentation that when one signs up as an ebay seller and/or buyer they agree to have their number released to the relevant party. It can be done electronically and/or via the phone without consultation. If at any point a phone conversation does occur between you and a buyer, make sure to follow the conversation up with an ebay message to the buyer documenting what was said and/or agreed upon so there is a electronic papertrail.
Sigilini,
If your parents had the coin valued and paid $500 to do so, it would seem to me that this coin has some value and that maybe you may want to hold off selling this coin. Maybe even hold off selling it on ebay at all. If the money is not immediately needed, you may want to research auction houses as Incompetent Picker noted as well as other possible venues. I would offer that if the sale of this item is not an immediate need, you may want to schedule it into your time so as to avoid allowing it to distract you from your other selling responsibilities and goals. Maybe schedule an hour each day toward this coin so you stay focused on the rest of your inventory, your listings, your store and any other life activities that might be demanding your time.I would also be inclined to say it is a gun holster.

Hello Sigilini,
Any time we as sellers venture into new territory there are inherent rewards and risks. When we venture into areas which can be of high value, sometimes the risks become greater especially if we do not have an expertise in a particular area or areas in which we wish to sell. Regardless of venue, it is important for us to empower ourselves with the knowledge, skill, and/or resources needed when selling in new areas. This may lead us to find out that one venue of sale is not appropriate while another is. When selling in high values areas (money, art, any kind of technology, cars, watches, etc.), it becomes especially important to become informed and to have safeguards in place to protect oneself against the possibility of fraud especially due to the fact that the previously mentioned areas are all notorious for fraudulent activity.
I would offer that before you consider selling the coin, you allow yourself the time to learn a little more about coin. In my very basic knowledge about coins, there are key markers on coins that are imprinted and then used for verification to prevent against fraud. The U.S. Department of Treasury (https://home.treasury.gov/) may be a place to start. They have a section on coins. After that, you may want to do some research online about high dollar value coins, selling of these coins, and safeguards available to protect against fraud. You may want to also look at major shopping channels who sell coins to see how they sell high dollar value coins and what safeguards they put into place.
Hello LAwoman,
I would offer that if you can, call ebay tonight to try to head off a problem. Better for you to know facts and options ahead of time in case the buyer does respond. Even if the buyer doesn’t respond to your messages, if he does not send the item back within 5 days of opening the return, I believe that you can call and get the case closed on day 6.
It looks like this piece is based on Ronald Wong’s Deadly Chase Painting/Picture.

Yes, there are videos on YouTube specifically dedicated to taking photos for ebay. Just type in something like – Taking good listing photos.
I found this Scavenger Life video from 2014 on YouTube while looking for videos on photography.

Jay and Ryanne,
A reposting seems to have worked instead of trying to find the original one.Marjean28,
It sounds like you are working on developing your rhythm, strategies, and work style as an eBay seller. I do agree with the comments above about the importance of lighting and backdrop, but I think for all of us the important question is -what works for us? What is our rhythm, pace, style, and/or perspective? How do we want to present the items in our inventory? Trying to do it another’s way may only cause challenges and/or stagnation because someone else’s work style, thought pattern, perspective, and/or rhythm may not match your own. What if the focus became simply on what works for you without judgement and/or comparison? Once you find what works for you instead of maybe what should be, you may find that you are moving at a faster pace than expected and have found your own personal rhythm. As you grow and change as a seller, so will your perspective, style, pace, skills, and strategies.
I would offer that when taking pictures, ask yourself this question – how would I want to present this item to someone else to make them love it as much as I do which is what caused me to include it in my inventory? Even if you do not love the item, you must have found value in it in order to have chosen it to be in your inventory.
Just take that one item and explore with different shots. Then take a different kind of item and explore different shots. I think if you just give yourself the time to explore what you like, what works for you, and how you want to present your inventory and store instead of how you think the items and your store should be presented, you will find that your listings are successfully being completed at a faster pace than you realize.
As for whether to use the laptop and/or PC, or phone, while many use and like the laptop and/or PC, some use the phone and/or their tablet. The question is – what feels comfortable for you and allows you to be the most productive?
As for taking pics and then writing listings or vice versa, what feels comfortable for you and keeps you motivated? Personally, I like writing the drafts, uploading the pictures from my phone, and then finalizing a listing before submitting it. It took me awhile to figure out that this works for me.
As for the rotation difficulty, pictures can be rotated after being uploaded into the listing. Paint 3D is also a good program to use for editing, rotating, and cropping. You may also want to look up iPhone Picture rotation on YouTube. I am always amazed at what one can learn on YouTube.Hello Jay or Ryanne,
My response to this thread topic seems to have gotten lost. I was wondering if you could please assist me with having the post included in this thread.
Thank youTwo thoughts come to mind
1. This looks very similar.
2. If you have not already, download the Shazam app and then hold your phone close to the box to see if it can recognize the song. I tried it, but Shazam was not able to recognize it- possibly of the format it is in.
Yes, any company can claim
Trademark and/or copyright infringement on any or all of their items leaving any other seller without rights and/or protections to sell that item/items in question. EBay is not about to fight with a company and open themselves up to a lawsuit. If a buyer claims a Vero, that is different because an item can be left up if their team of validationtion specialists deems it legit.
You’ll see that ebay does not pull down every listing that would fall under a Vero claim. Most likely that is only done if every item is reported or if a company gives notice to ebay to do so. Taking down listings costs ebay money each time they do so.
If the company is selling on ebay and you are not an official rep or seller, they don’t care how real the product is or that you bought it from them. You selling their products takes away from the company’s exclusivity rights, trademarks protections, and image/reputation/practices (you as a seller may do things differently than they would do it as a company).

I would first want to investigate if there was any kind of ebay program coding error. We have seen ebay have multiple programming errors in the past couple of weeks which negatively effected seller’s stores and accounts and even cost the seller profits.
CTVintage,
Yes, not getting sales when you have been working hard listing can be frustrating especially when expected monies earned are allotted for in your budget. I would like to offer to you to change your focus from sales to your business plan (if one has been put into place) and/or your life plan. Instead of focusing on sales, try to focus on what you want to achieve with your store (a certain way of doing things, a certain number of listings, a certain and/or quality of item), how you run your store, the finer aspects of your store (pictures, organization, keeping abreast of eBay and market changes and understanding how they impact your store and business), and what you want to achieve in your life. Have your plan or plans visible with something indicating what in the plan you are working on at one time. I would also offer that you find someone or something that is motivational and turn it on or spend time doing it every day. If you shift your focus away from sales and onto the larger picture of you, your business, and your overall goals, as you are moving along making overall progress, you will notice sales coming in. And when they don’t, you won’t be so effected by it because you will know that they are just a piece in the larger plan/outlook for you and your business.
