Thanks for the thorough and helpful reply, Sharyn! What you say makes sense. I am definitely going look for lots on ebay when I’m considering making up a lot of something myself – great idea. And maybe “I don’t know, but I definitely didn’t want to sell them separately” is a good enough reason, too – it worked for you. 🙂

Question for you or anybody else re: lotting items together like those russian tablecloths and the vintage gloves. Those are great sales, but I never would have thought of lotting those items together b/c I keep coming up against this block in my mind: Who really needs THAT many similar style but slightly different size tablecloths? And the gloves – they were different types and maybe different sizes – are there really that many prop houses out there to buy such lots?
Today I purchased 3 Tuva brand vintage 80’s “big eye” women’s eyeglass frames. I’m not sure how much I can get for them individually, but perhaps grouped together I can make the listing worth it. But again I ask myself – who is going to buy as many as three of these things?
I can understand when people lot together say, 3 golf shirts or 3 dress shirts that are all the same size and quality. B/c people usually have a whole closetful of them.
Anyway, you get the drift. If anyone can enlighten me on this question, that would be really helpful.
I don’t see any photo
Recently I found a pair of like new Stuart Weitzman sandals that were just my size. I was planning on selling them until I tried them on… 🙂
I have also found clothing for family members. Like thick cotton bathrobes for just a few dollars, and most recently a cashmere/wool coat for the winter. That one was a bit high at $30, but it’s actually quite reasonable for a coat you’re going to use yourself. Some people are genuinely sensitive to artificial smells like dryer sheets and standard laundry detergent and air fresheners (and many other things). I am one of them. Just being within 25 feet of the local laundromat is truly unpleasant for me and I avoid it as much as possible. I hope to never receive a pair of shoes with a dryer sheet enclosed, though I’m sure I could air it out fairly easily. All this just to say that it’s not very helpful or nice to bunch chemically sensitive people into a general “complainers” bucket. Especially when, by doing so, one is complaining about them! If you have made a business decision not to cater to their needs, that’s obviously your right, and perhaps is the best thing for your business. No need to bash these customers, though.
Back to the original topic. I tried the ozone machine on the musty/moldy-smelling items I had (shoes), and it works great! So much easier for me than putting things out in the sun outdoors and then bringing them in at night and back out again in the morning, which only gets harder (and sometimes impossible) in the winter.
I just ordered an ozone machine on Amazon. I’ve used the freezer and out-in-the-sun methods over the last 6-9 months, but the freezer method doesn’t seem to work every time (even if I keep the stuff in there for 1-2 months), and with the sun method, I’ve gotten sick of having to put stuff out in the morning and take it in at night for many days at a time for items with extra-pesky odors. There are a couple of pairs of high end boots that I really want to list soon, but after being out in the sun for many many days, some of the musty odor remains. I think it’s because with boots, there’s a whole lotta nooks and crannies where the sun can’t shine. 🙂
Thanks for sharing your experience, Retro WV. I’m going to try putting it on for just a few minutes the first time. Are you still continuing to use your ozone machine for reselling purposes?
I haven’t gotten any free insertions since I signed up for a store.
“If the tracking shows later on that she got it, can I get my money back through eBay if I have already refunded her?”
I have always wondered about this, so I’m looking forward to the answer.

I do both.
>he said he’d reverse the decision
wow – that’s great! So glad that all your hard work is paying off.
I agree with Jay that revenge is not a good idea, and I also am very grateful to all the people who take the time and effort to “fight for what is right” – whether it’s a small thing or a large thing. That’s how improvements/changes in society happen that benefit all of us.
Thanks for the input. I decided not to get it b/c I don’t want to sink so much money into one item right now. Plus I came to the realization that lugging it around the house and to the PO is probably going to be a lot more difficult than it was for the large braided wool rug I sold before.

In our family we always hung those types of bags on one of the car radio knobs. Live and learn…
btw, the one I can buy is NOT new with tags like the one in the link I posted.
