…as you wrap Christmas presents, you are annoyed at having to use scotch tape and are dying to just slap a long wide slab of packing tape all around the box.
…you can find sold inventory to pack and ship more quickly than you can find the Christmas presents you hid somewhere in the house a few weeks ago.
wow – it does look like the same one. Like others have said, it probably doesn’t really matter. I just happen for some reason to be interested in learning the different kinds, and it’s hard to do from just photos. I have a lot of experience touching and seeing mink (and rabbit) (lots of mink coats around in the 80s when I was growing up – though not at my house), but also there are now tons and tons of used minks for sale, so mink collars are no huge deal. When I was a very new seller, I happened on a unicorn buy – $5 for an all sable jacket at a rummage sale. It took a bit of online research as well as consultation with my mother to identify it as sable. I bravely listed it for a high (to me) $100, and it was snapped up in less than 15 minutes by someone in Russia (they know their sable over there). I know it will never happen, but in the back of my mind I’m still hoping for a repeat of this type of find so I can price it higher next time. 🙂
A little tidbit of fur info I learned along the way: My mom had a seal coat in the 60’s and 70’s – boy was it soft. What I know now (based on ebay-related research) is that it was not true seal fur, but rather what was called “Hudson seal”, which is actually muskrat fur that has been processed in a particular way. I have sold a Hudson seal hat and maybe one other Hudson seal item on ebay.
Good luck with this beautiful coat – great find!
wow. that’s beautiful!
the red color in the link I shared is probably dyed, fyi.
Fox is another possibility.I think what you did is perfectly acceptable.
I’m definitely one of those “bad” buyers that drives some sellers crazy. A few months ago I purchased a cobbled together set of vintage flatware from 5-6 different listings, 3 different sellers, then an hour later changed my mind and asked for cancellations. Luckily all these sellers acted professionally and processed my cancellation/refund quickly.
I can tell you that it’s definitely not mink.
If it were me, I would put “Sable?” in the title and then make it clear in the description that I was not certain of the fur type.https://furoutlet.com/buy-vintage/vintage-fur-burgundy-sable-coat/
My local post office lady didn’t know anything about this. She said that some post offices might be closing early that day, but didn’t know which ones. Knew nothing about everything being shut down completely on that day.
oops – I read that wrong.
It sounds like the buyer is out $0 on this transaction, since you have free shipping and free returns. So maybe the buyer is confused – I would message the buyer to clarify why he wants shipping refunded when you already refunded original shipping (included in original purchase price) and they didn’t have to pay for return shipping b/c you have free returns.
12/19/2019 at 1:38 am in reply to: Have Sneakers to sell worth $100 or more? Now FREE to sell on ebay … #71865OK – I can see the argument for attracting more buyers and sellers, who would then be more likely to buy and sell other items on ebay, not just the high end sneakers. Interesting.
Is it just me, or is the new USPS “help request” form (step 2 on this page
https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm) something relatively new?In the past, I’ve only seen and used Step 3 (Missing Mail search), which sometimes does the trick to get things moving and delivered (but is a little bit of a pain to fill out), and then 3-6 months later you get an automated email saying “still haven’t found your package.” (yes, even if the package was delivered).
I recently saw and tried the new-to-me “Help Request”, and actually got an email response from a person (!!!) at the destination post office within 1.5 business days letting me know that the 3-week-delayed packaged was now delivered. It was great. So just an FYI for anyone who doesn’t know about this service.

What am I missing?“They call anyone who questions what he has to say “haters” or “jealous.”
“It’s starting to sound like a cult.”
A lot of these comments in recent replies resonate with me wrt my experience with the Crazy Lamp Lady youtube videos. While I do not at all think she is scamming anyone nor is she trying to start a cult, I had to quit watching her channel cold turkey b/c there was way too much drama. One example:
Whenever she saw more “dislikes” of videos of her children in them (this is like 100 dislikes compared to thousands of likes) compared to videos that didn’t have her children in them, she would complain about it in her video. Then in the comments, her “followers” would repeatedly call all the people clicking on the thumbs downs “haters” and “sad people”, and CLL even joins in with that sometimes. This was really annoying to me b/c a) I happen to despise the videos with her children in them although I think the children are wonderful adorable children and b) I like scrolling through the comments b/c knowledgeable people would comment with identification information on items when CLL didn’t know what they were – I wanted to learn. But it just wasn’t worth it to have to read through comments that were basically insulting me.
Another negative was that the more I watched her videos, the more I was drawn to buy the things she buys, and large percentage of these things are not worth anything on ebay unless you have a cult following like she does. So I stopped in order to get all that cheap stuff out of my head.
Yes, I’m pretty sure I heard recently that ebay was extending the feature beyond just watchers, to people who have only viewed the item as well. That’s why they don’t call it “offer to watchers” anywhere in the UI – it’s all about “offer to buyers” now.
Thank you SO MUCH, Temudgin!
