09/16/2020 at 6:51 pm in reply to: Where do I see my shipping fee for a return shipping label that a buyer printed? #81615
I haven’t had a return yet on MP, but I’m guessing it might show up in “Expenses” in the Payments section of Seller Hub.
“Expenses” is an option on the left side of the Payments page.
Do you see it there? I’m curious as well.
That’s great news! Thanks for the info, MyCottage.
MyCottage,
Did you get any sense of whether the mock-ups you were seeing were for
a) the packing slips that you print out individually on a per-order basis from the shipping label purchase page, that currently say “Not an Invoice” at the top, and don’t show any prices
or
b) the sheets that are called “packing slip/invoice” in the current UI when you go to print them out in bulk for all your orders, and show prices
or
c) both a & b – which would provide a single consistent packing slip format?
I hope the answer is (c).
09/15/2020 at 2:30 am in reply to: The New Time Away Settings (Old “Vacation Settings”) – Woo hoo! #8157015 day limit for Time Away mode is strange given that you can set 30 day handling time within the listing itself. So if you want to sell while going away for a month, you can just use the old way of bulk editing handling time or editing handling time in business policies. 😐
Good luck! Let us know how it works out.
I would have the same kind of trouble with confrontation in this situation if I had a helper!
On ebay, I often use FedEx Ground/Home Delivery for these types of parcels. Or USPS Parcel Select.
09/03/2020 at 3:29 pm in reply to: Any luck with asking eBay to step in with an INAD under free returns? #81262In my experience, once a return is an INAD, it stays that way forever no matter what. Even if the buyer says it was a mistake on their part. You can check your Service Metrics to confirm this – you may have to wait a month for those to update, not sure. Like Jay said, as long as you don’t get a lot of them, it’s no big deal. Service metrics will tell you whether you’re getting close to it being a real problem.
Could you share where you found it?
08/30/2020 at 9:33 pm in reply to: eBay Global Shipping when listing has free ship, no box size/weight #81122I don’t know, but you can find out by viewing the item page in a browser where you’re not logged in to your ebay account, and then in the shipping section/tab, enter a different country for your address.
Interesting. I hadn’t noticed that.
What don’t you like about it specifically? In other words, what info might you be sending the buyer that you don’t want ebay to see? Or is it just the general “big brother sees everything” uncomfortable feeling?
My first reaction is that I like it, but I haven’t given it a lot of thought yet.
I’ve had delay issues with Priority Mail.
There have been a couple of recent threads on the topic of what to do if the customer complains about not receiving a package.
Unless commuting time/cost is an issue, I’d continue working for the time being. Their gradual cutting of your hours actually gives you a way to gradually increase your self-employment income until you are at a point where quitting the job is a no-brainer. For me, gradual change and progress sounds much easier than the stress of having to make up the income super quickly.
08/24/2020 at 10:04 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 476: #SaveTheUSPS and Crocs are Cool again #80984Mike – Welcome to Managed Payments!
If you are still using GSP for international sales, keep an eye out for incorrect extra income showing up in the form of Import Duty line items, and Shipping Income line items that equal the sum of the amount you received to ship the item to KY and the amount ebay received to ship it out of KY. I’m seeing these issues in GoDaddy and correcting them manually (luckily I’m a small seller and GSP sales are not that often), and while I realize that Quicken is a much fancier bookkeeping/accounting software compared with GDBK, I’m assuming they are both using the same ebay APIs to get the numbers, and it’s the APIs that are sending these wrong numbers.
Would love to hear from anybody on MP and using GSP with any form of 3rd party bookkeeping solution (including the EAT spreadsheet) to see if they are seeing such issues.
Yes – I do that, too. When I’m not feeling too lazy to look it up, I even put the ebay item id# in that paypal text box.
If you’re not yet on Managed Payments, then partial refund via PayPal is indeed the way to go. Every time I have done this in the past (but I didn’t do it very often, and haven’t done it in a while), the ebay system could see the partial refund.
