After reading a message from an angry or unreasonable buyer, I generally walk away and do something unrelated. I may go hiking or shopping or whatever.
After a few hours or sometimes a day, I will revisit the situation. By then I’ve become emotionally detached. It’s all business, so I’ll respond as needed and not really care about the refund. The buyer never really gets in my head.
Right now, I’m looking into buying a new car. Unknown to me, the prices on the dealer websites are far from accurate. They don’t include unwanted alarm systems, paint protection or interior protection. I thought these deceptive tactics had gone away. Boy was I naive.
I’m still not ready to revisit that situation. In the end I’ll probably go silent with them too.
Life is just too short to let people make you unhappy.
You only lose when you let them get into your head.

Hi Carol,
I used to use the notes, but if you want to end a listing to “sell similar”, you lose the note.
Now I just put it at the bottom of the item description. Usually it says something like G23.
It also enables me to search the location “G23” among my listings to see all the items I have in that location.
There’s no right or wrong method.. it’s whatever works for you.

There is a big gray area between listing consistently on Ebay and closing the store and selling off all your inventory.
My store peaked out at just under 2100 listings. In 2018, I stopped listing and sourcing to focus on moving. Since then I’ve become somewhat unmotivated and have also been looking at alternative streams of income.
My store has become somewhat passive. Occasionally I’ll end and “sell similar” my listings and I now ship with a 3 day handling time.
Even so, I’m cash flowing after expenses about $200 to $300 a month on existing inventory which is now below 1400 items. It’s not a lot of money, but it’s also not a lot of work. I do have to update some of my item specifics one of these days.
I’ve also got the option to start listing again to bring the store back to a more “active” level, if I choose. This is a great comfort to me, knowing it’s an option.
Developing multiple steams of unrelated income is a smart concept you two have come up with. I wouldn’t be in any rush to close the Ebay door.
As far as the $2 bill is concerned, you can just get them from any bank. In fact once, before going to yard sales, I went to the bank and asked about $2 bills. They sold me everyone they had. They were happy to be done with them.
I thought they would give me bargaining power at the yard sales. They really didn’t and quite a few people looked at me like they were counterfeit.
I don’t see myself spending $1000 for a phone, at least not right now. I’ll have to do a little research, but most likely I’ll just buy something new, that gets the job done.

It looks like the writing is on the wall and my phone will soon be obsolete.
Most likely, I’ll just find something new and push the cycle to the limit again. I think a 5G capable device would probably be the minimum requirement.

I believe I have version 5.0. The last update was in 2017 and no more are available.
I did see the upgrade you are talking about. Right now this phone is my only way of communicating and getting on the internet, so I’m not up for that gamble just yet.
It’s really too bad this phone is becoming obsolete due to software. I’ve been very happy with it and it still works fine otherwise.

If the tag was written with a ball point pen, there’s no way it was before World War II. It would have been written in pencil or possibly a fountain pen.
My guess is possibly 1050’s, but most likely 1960’s., based on the price tag.
After the war, imports out of Europe were pretty cheap.
I usually carry one of these fold up carts with me, especially if I’ll be parking the car, to walk a street of lined with sales. I usually find them at garage sales for less than 5 dollars.
They fold flat to about the size of a briefcase. The listing does not have a good picture of this.

I don’t sell many items at all anymore. My listings are down to 1400, of which less than 1000 are being counted against my free listings, so the move to downgrade was a welcome one.
The extra $15.99 is probably not worth it for me.
I’ll probably just log in every couple of weeks or so to leave feedback.

Another advantage with an insurance policy is that it provides a defense (pays for attorneys). This cost can be expensive, even for those who have done no wrong.
I second the idea of Old Dad and insisting on USPS money orders. you can even have the buyer wait until you cash it to ship his item.
Way back in the early days I didn’t have a Paypal account. It was all personal checks, money orders and a strange Western Union product called “Bidpay”
Even so, I only had one check bounce and then it cleared when it was resubmitted.
