If you put “records” in the search box under the free section, it’s still there.
Usually too good to be true is an Email harvesting scam.., but you never know.
I see the table.. very cool. Thanks

I wonder if this is a real free ad. 20,000 free records. I can’t possibly handle this and I’ve never sold a record, so I’m going to pass.. timing in life is key.
Maybe Paul or Sigilini wants to give it a shot..
The link isn’t working. It’s in the Los Angeles Craigslist Free section 1/28.

So Cal Joe.
The problem with a buyer like this is that he was savvy enough to open another account to bypass being blocked. He might decide to open up a INAD claim for who knows why.. or he might leave a negative feedback and never mention shipping…
We all pick our battles, but sometimes being right is not enough of a reason to fight these guys.
I’m just so glad these situations are the exception to the rule.. Most sales are just money in the bank.. not a headache like this.
Yes, you made a smart move. For $3, let the guy have his day.. It’s not worth the time and hassle to fight it and probably end up paying anyway.
If the shipping cost is stated in the listing, I don’t see that the buyer should be able to make an issue out of it. The listing doesn’t say “this is what I’m paying the Post office”. It is the cost of shipping, which may include boxes, packaging etc and handling fees.
The obvious work around is free shipping, which doesn’t always benefit the buyer. Of course each item can included a handling fee, which just complicates the listing process even further. In the end the buyer is going to pay for the shipping ,one way or another.
Doublythumbs is dealing with the classic unreasonable grumpy buyer. The buyer probably called Ebay and badgered the representative into sending that message. It was an easy way to hand off the problem to the seller.
You have to remember, this buyer was blocked and created a second account to buy the item. If not the shipping, he probably would have found another reason to request money back.
I’m not changing anything, based on these type of buyers. They are out there and will exploit the system any way they can.
I haven’t been to the Long Beach Antique Swap meet in quite a while. When I did go, I got the impression that it was mostly furniture and the sellers were the people I saw buying at the Estate sales and Rummage sales.
Yes, I’m exaggerating, but I bought very little back then. I actually did better shopping at the motorcycle swap meet, which is also held at Veteran’s stadium.
Maybe now with more experience and a different set of eyes, I’d have a different opinion. It’s still a fun day, just the same and worth the trip.
I don’t know if you really have a leg to stand on. the reason I say this, is that the buyer paid for USPS Parcel Select and you shipped it Fedex Smartpost. Technically you changed the method of shipping and the buyer can say that this resulted in the package being delayed. I hope I’m wrong.
I’d agree with the others and say to call Ebay and try to get the negative removed. They may suggest reaching out to the buyer.. refunding etc. I don’t know if I’d do that with this guy. It doesn’t look like he’d be willing to change the feedback anyway.
I never think about flat rate boxes either for shoes. I just sent a pair cross country that I should have out in a flat rate box. Can you fit a size 13 in the medium box?
Anyway, good luck with it and keep us posted.
There’s a Salvation Army on the other side of the hill, 4310 Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance, CA 90505.
This is a very expensive thrift store, but I know you deal with a lot more high end items and clothing than I do. You may want to check it out.
I usually just follow the solds and list where they do. You are on the right track with the electronics manuals. I think the causal buyer will find it there. The determined buyer is going to run a search and find it wherever it is.
Good Luck.
I’d hit the estate sales in Palos Verdes first. There’s a fair amount of money up there.
I think the Long Beach antique mall is closed (Out of Business) .. on PCH. The St. Vincent DePaul and Out of the Closet thrifts are fairly close to each other on PCH in Long Beach. They get a lot of traffic, but may be worth a look.
Don’t forget to check Craiglist for the Rummage sales and Community yard sales.
I just got burned by Smart Post on a pair of shoes. They’re going across the country, so USPS Priority won’t save me. It’s not a lot of money, but I’m considering taking out Smartpost as an option until this is resolved.
Well I thought about and and called Ebay.. after speaking to three different people, the sale was cancelled. Hopefully, that’s the end of it.
By the way, after speaking with each rep, they had me wait while they entered comments in the computer.. Maybe things are changing.
01/25/2018 at 7:09 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Mushroom mugs, Car books, Lineman belt, Sansui amp, Columbia snow shoes, Native Barbie, Gun case #31314Last month I bought a non running motorcycle for $150. I’m keeping a bunch of the parts for myself, but many I’ve sold.
So far have $534.47 in sales from this.
I found this in the free section on Craiglsist. I took a best offer of $100 plus shipping.
Cool Alfa Romeo belt Buckle.. paid $1.00 Sold $29.99..
This kind of stuff is so much for interesting to me than books or hats, which I tend to sell more.
Now I wish I had told him exactly why I blocked him. He managed to buy it from another account for full price.
Should I just send it and go silent? Should I communicate first, or should I find a way to cancel the sale.?
I’m guessing I’ll just send it.. Any ideas?
01/23/2018 at 6:40 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 344: Decluttering and Auction Cravings #31190I had guessed that USPS stopped making the 15 X 12 X 12 SHIPPING boxes because people were using them as free storage containers and not for shipping… I guess we’ll never know..
