Add the word digital to your search…
Mine looks like this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/FAIRBANKS-DIGITAL-SCALE-SHIPPING-MODEL-70-2453-4/262757238185?hash=item3d2d8d45a9:g:2tIAAOSwOtdYTHXS

So Cal Joe.
When they began checking weight etc they added that message. It’s fairly recent.
Did you check Priority Mail with your discount. Sometimes it’s less than Parcel and insurance is included.
L X W X H must be 1728 or less.
You have 19 X 17 X 14 = 4522…
Oversize package.
That is way oversize…
If you don’t put in the measurements and they charge you later.. you will be charged the retail rate with no discounts… That would be ugly.
If it were me and I couldn’t get the dimensions down, I’d just bite the bullet and pay the shipping. You aren’t the first one who has made this mistake and you won’t be the last.
I wish I had better news.. if possible, get the size down, but it sounds like it’s going to be an oversize package regardless.
Good Luck

As a general rule the older the better. I focus on the World War 2 era or older.
I do well with religious books, technical books and some yearbooks. I try to find books on very specific topics, such as small towns or individual military units. The more narrow focused, the better.
First editions are great, but are no guarantee of value. Also It can get tricky, determining if the book is the first printing or a true first edition.
I’m always looking for signatures from the author or other famous people. If it’s also dated, that’s better.
Encyclopedias or other sets look good, but require a lot of storage and take time to sell. Unless they’re very special, I stay away from these.
Cook books sell well for some.. but not for me.
Don’t do too much research on site.. just grab and go. Be prepared to bring home boxes and boxes. Books are very heavy, so you may need help or a cart.
Like anything else, research is key. When I acquire a hoard of books, I look them all over and begin to group them into similar piles. I pick out the ones with value, that I can sell by themselves. After this, I start grouping books together I can sell in lots.
What’s left generally gets donated. You’ll probably end up donating more than half the books you bring home.
If this ends up being a large find, you may end up bringing home hundreds of heavy dusty books. Fill up the car, after all they’re free. Sometimes the least likely book, will have the real value. You really won’t know what you’ve got until later.. sometimes much later.
Again.. the value is in the research. Knowing what you have and creating a great listing will bring home the money.
Good Luck
I recently bought a used Fairbanks Scale 0 to 150 LB with a 13.5″ X 13.5″ platform. It stays on all the time.
For lighter items (1LB and under) I use a small Digital food scale. I don’t know if you’re going to find a scale that can accurately handle really small increments and also the large.
Good Luck.
I see that..Interesting.. looks like a nightmare to ship though…
Good Deal.. even if it doesn’t make sense to sell some books individually, you can also group them into like categories, such as author topic etc.
Keep us updated on how it works out..
02/07/2018 at 2:18 pm in reply to: Late shipping seller performance doesn't seem to be accurately reading tracking #32442If you contact Ebay and send them the scanned receipts from the Post Office, they should be able to reverse a bunch, if not all of your late shipments.
The worse thing you can do at this point is to ignore the problem.
Good Luck.
02/07/2018 at 2:12 pm in reply to: Late shipping seller performance doesn't seem to be accurately reading tracking #32439Are the tracking numbers being uploaded by the Post Office? I had a problem a while back, where the tracking was uploaded to the USPS internal site, but not making it to USPS.com, which is where Ebay gets the tracking.
In other words, when you click on a tracking link, is your acceptance accurate. It should show the date and time you dropped it off. If not, you need to talk to the Post Office.
Otherwise it’s probably Ebay’s problem. With all the other people saying they’re having problems, it just may be. It’s seems like the people who have been reporting problems though, were all part of the guaranteed delivery program.
I am not part of the Guaranteed delivery program and my tracking has been 100% accurate. It doesn’t mean it’s related.. just an observation.
Good Luck.
More free books on Craigslist : Free Books! Tons and tons of them! (La Canada Flintridge, CA)
Closer to you than me..
Regardless of which method you use to enter the location in the listing, the key is to get started.
Contrary to what you may think, you don’t have to do it all at once. I would start with new items as you list them. Put the location code in the listing with the other information. I generally have a plastic tote next to me, when I’m listing. As I list the item, I place it in the tote, which is numbered. Every new listing, needs to get inventoried now for the system to work.
Later, when I notice a half filled numbered tote, I’ll bring it in the house with me and fill it as I list.
If you have other unnumbered totes, filled with listed items, don’t sweat it, just don’t fill those up until you’re ready to inventory what’s left in them. This will usually happen when you are down to 2 or 3 items in the tote. Then, it’s no big deal to inventory them. Before you know it you’ll have more numbered totes than unnumbered ones.
To this day, I still have a couple of unnumbered totes, one is full of maps and the other shot glasses. It’s not worth it yet, to inventory what’s left, but all new map listings and shot glasses get inventoried and placed in new bins.
It sounds crazy, but having unrelated goods stored together, makes it easier to find what you are looking for, when it’s time to ship. Of course use common sense, don’t store bowling balls and wine glasses together.
Just changing the way you currently list will eventually get all your items inventoried.
Good Luck.

In the meantime, I sold a hat for $30.. on Ebay..
I never drove for Lyft again..
The V1 is cool.. Is it a painting?
