When I buy something that ends up with a huge profit, I keep track of it for a while just so that I can calculate the ROI. I just like looking at the number. However, after some time goes by, I forget to keep adding in the sale price, and the number doesn’t get updated. I bought over 100 whiskey pitchers for about $29 in 2019, and my ROI is 59.6. Multiply that by 100 to get the percentage!!!

I just created my forum post talking about last week’s big sale of two vintage JBL speakers.
My other big sale was an 8-piece set of glass bowls and plates for $52. I bought them as part of a larger auction lot for around a dollar. The other unusual thing is that a buyer from Saudi Arabia bought them and had them shipped through eBay for a total over $200. I’ve had a few buyers from Saudi Arabia this way, and I can only assume that they have matching pieces that they can only get through an international purchase.
My goal is actually to purge my inventory. My “career” job is busier, and my boss is talking about me increasing my hours. In addition, my daughter wants a workout area in the basement. I have signed up for a MaxSold auction, and I am hoping I can create most of my listings by the end of January.
After the auction, I will need to be much more selective about what I list.
Another zero week for me. I did create a few listings and took photos, so that should help. I won’t complete those until later this week.
When I was helping my neighbor to downsize, I found two multi-piece wool suits in a junior or teenager size. One already sold. The other had moth damage, but I find that this does not necessarily prevent a sale if the outfit is unusual enough. This one sold for $50.

I purchased this Christmas plate as part of a retail arbitrage purchase I made over a year ago. I have sold a few items, but I would say it wasn’t the best investment. I’ll stick to the used stuff. It sold for $49, and I bought it for $17.50.
I actually was able to list 7 items this week with five of them being DPs. I have 13 in the hole if my count is correct.
Did I mess up with tracking the DP challenge? I have a challenge of two for this week which would leave one for the 2024/25 half and half week. Is that correct?
@Vintage-Lacy – From your posts over the last few years, I know that your father has not had it easy these later years in his life. At least he has a caring daughter who is helping the best that she can. I don’t know how much it can mean from some random stranger on the internet, but I hope for the best, that he is comfortable and your stress level is reduced.To keep myself up to date as well, here are my numbers from two weeks ago:

Number of items listed this week: 0Usually, eBay tells you when FedEx charges you extra; however, I found an extra charge on November’s monthly expense report. I would have to call eBay to connect the extra charge to which item, confirm that it wasn’t for a different reason, and then fight the charge (which I probably won’t win). I just don’t have the time and patience.
I just need to remember to use Pirate Ship for now on which means I should remove FedEx as a choice since Pirate Ship only has UPS.
@Retro-Treasures-WV – I keep thinking I should start the numbers post myself, but I’m never sure when to do it. I was thinking that I’d wait until Thursday to see if Jay writes one up or not. What do you think?

Blast from the past! This is carbon paper where you put a sheet between two pieces of paper so that your writing on one page shows up on the one underneath. When you “cc” someone in an email, you are making a “carbon copy”. Not a big sale for $13, but the COGS were less than $1. Bought a few years ago.

But, yes, ground shipping is probably a gamble at this point depending on distance.
I’ve sold several coats in the past month or so. Makes sense, but many of them have issues. This long wool coat has a few issues including missing buttons, but it still sold for $40. Either the buyer plans to fix it, or they just want the fabric.

This is a very nice pottery serving platter, brand new never used. Another one of my neighbor/consigner’s gifts (maybe from his wedding) that they never used. I had other pieces from this artist that already sold. This one went for $50.
I hit another 0 week. My time has been spent planning for the holidays and a sudden uptick in my career job hours.
Since I’m keeping track, I was 7 in the hole plus 5, so I’m now behind by 12.
Because I have so little time available for eBay now, I’m not sure that I will be able to dig myself out. I am close to listing all my DPs, and I don’t have piles of low value stuff left over from years of scavenging. I may not be able to complete the challenge after the past two months of focus. LOL
I have two groups of DP stuff that I would like to complete by the end of the year. Let’s see what happens.
I sold fewer items this week but had a decent average price. For the last three or so weeks, I’ve been doing a end and sell similar to 100 listings. It certainly is increasing the number of offers I can send, but, for this week, it did not end up in more sales.

I had to look up eejit as well which is idiot. Seems like the book set of four goes for $76 – $110. Single books go around $20 ish. That doesn’t seem like such an idiot thing to buy, although, maybe the price is higher in the US?
