I listed three and two of those were DPs. Thanksgiving and then Black Friday ended up taking lots of my time.
Since I’m keeping track: I was 3 in the hole, I only listed two DP, and my goal was 6. I am now 7 in the hole. Not sure that I will catch up, but you never know.
I had a similar feedback on some old magazines a few weeks ago: “quite rough but I was warned“.
These antique set of 5 books was a commission from my neighbor (well, he moved out a year ago). The History of the World War was published when there was only one WW to talk about and sold for $75. He said they came from a used book store that was going out of business near his home when he was a kid, and his parents purchased a number of books on sale.

On the other side of things, my son found that Jets tickets were very cheap on Halloween. He paid about $40 for him and my daughter to go. It ended up being a pretty interesting game and the Jets actually won!
My big sale of the week was a Antique Stratton Brothers Wood Level. I saw a few sold for $130 – $150 (with a $200 outlier), but they all were in good condition and still had liquid in the vials. The others were listed at $90-$100. Mine did not have any liquid left, so I listed it at $98, and it sold in just a few minutes! I guess I left money on the table, but I’m not sure.

I sold this organ grinder vinyl record for $15. I’m pretty sure my parents bought it in the 80’s when we visited Luray Caverns on vacation. This guy was playing the organ demonstrating the cool acoustics in the caves. There is a organ still there if you visit today, but this guy had decided to bring his own. At least, that is my memory. My parents had him sign it to my sister and me.

One buyer bought three listings of porcelain serving platters in the same pattern. I wonder if he has the matching place settings or he just wanted matching serving pieces. The total came to $70. These are on commission. Here is one:

Number of items listed this week: 21@Jay – I also sold a vintage whiskey bottle, but I got a mere $10.56 for it. I bought it in 2019 as part of a large auction lot for around $25, and I’ve made close to $1000 from that purchase, so I’m good.
I did something interesting on Friday. I had some gold jewelry that I wanted a jeweler to look at before I listed it again. I had it previously listed on Ruby Lane and had moved two over to eBay, but I wanted to double check that they were described correctly. The two pendants that had been listed on eBay were removed because the gems were cubic zirconia, and CZ couldn’t be listed in the fine jewelry category. I wanted to verify that they were actually CZ (they were) and that another pendant was mother of pearl (again, yes). The jeweler offered me $500 and estimated that I could make about $850 on eBay. I agreed with his numbers as I had already had them listed at one time, so I figured it was worth just selling now. He can definitely make more money on them than I can.
Now I have 5 – 100 dollar bills, and I will need to break one so that I can pay my consigner when I see him in a month.

I actually did not list anything this past week. I did do lots of prep work, so I should catch up this week.
The goal was 7, and I had 4 in the “bank”, so I am now 3 in the hole. The goal for next week is 6, so I have to list 9 DPs to even out.
@Amatino – Now, looking back at your boutique, do you still feel the same? Will you skip it next year, or have you changed your mind?I listed 21 items this week. Only 3 were DPs. Challenge was 8, so I’ll take 5 from my “bank”. I’d like to mention that one of the DPs (a vintage electronic item) has been around for a few years, and I’m so happy to finally tackle it!
I am left with 4 in the bank. Next week challenge is 7.
I don’t know if this meets the popup challenge, but the photo below is of items from recent auction lots that are not worth the effort to list. I posted them on two freecycle Facebook groups, and I have about 80% given away. Someone is supposed to take about 10% more, but they haven’t been responsive on arranging a time. Whatever is left will get posted again, or saved for our town’s next in-person freecycling event (which I happen to manage).
I had a strong week as far as quantity, but I didn’t have a real big sale like last week. However, I did have a two good sales over $50.
This silver plate tray was made in Morocco. I bought it as part of a lot in a live auction several years ago, I think 2018-19 timeframe. I set the price up way too high and reduced it some time in the past year or two. I finally sold it with a 15% offer of $67. I noticed that it is correctly described as footed, but I neglected to mention that it only has three feet. It is shown in the photos, but not in the description. I hope that I don’t get it back.

This cute porcelain tea set is a complete set for two. The buyer paid full price of $95. I bought as part of a lot in an online auction a few months ago. Paid about $7.
I had a slow week on eBay, but I had one really big sale, so that saved my numbers!

Number of items listed this week: 8I know that Business Policies changed a while ago to remove PayPal as a way to get paid. I recall getting weird duplicates, so I updated them the way eBay wanted. Sorry, but I don’t recall all the details.
My store was soooo quiet. Only six sales! However, a few of those were pretty darn good, so my numbers aren’t that bad.
My mom brought me some books that her library was getting rid of. This book on Alexander Calder has really nice glossy photos of his art. I’m assuming that’s why sold prices of the hardback version were $450 and higher. This one was softback, so I listed it at $399. Buyer bought it at full price, and I upgraded to Priority and added in extra insurance. I love how many of the items my parents bring me from Florida end up back there. The book is now in Naples, FL.

I saw this Downton Abbey mug at a small yard sale a month ago for $1. Maggie Smith just passed away in September. (Great actress with an awesome career!!) I figured it would be a quick sale. Sold for $19.

Earlier in the year, I purchased three Bordallo Pinheiro items at a yard sale, which I listed on Etsy. This large platter was $10, and I sold it for $89. I always like this brand. They are made in Portugal, and the cabbage style is very popular.

I listed eight, but only two were death pile. I will pull seven from my “DP bank” to meet the challenge.
I am now left with nine in my bank. Next week challenge is 8.
My remaining DP items are mostly more complicated because they require some research or organizing, but I should be able to get there.
@Catmom – Welcome! Yes, sales are slow on eBay for pretty much everyone. The Scavenger Life site itself has also quieted down since the podcasts stopped, but a few of us diehards post our numbers each week and talk through some of the latest eBay news
Jay & Ryanne – So where did you go on vacation?
I had an average week. I’m really still chugging away trying to list all my inventory and not buying anything. I need to start work on that online auction sometime soon. The plan is to get more hours on my career job and cut back on eBay.
My big sale this week belonged to my son. It was given to him when he graduated from the VoTech. They had a grant where they gave him tools and work clothes, but they didn’t have shoes in his size (8), so they gave him a half size too large.
I noticed that I missed a return from last week’s numbers. An eBay international sale item broke in transit, and the buyer was refunded.
