I listed 21 items. 12 were DP.
Goal was 10 DP, so that gives me a bank total of 16.
I started this week off rough with some stomach issues, but I seem to be mostly over it. Yesterday was a wash, but I’ve started by cleaning some items that already have drafts. My “career job” is mostly quiet right now, so I think I’ll be able to get some listing in this week.
Oh – and I listed it in mid-February, so about 8.5 months.
@Craig-Rex – Why do think that certain sellers avoid ending auctions on Friday or Saturday? Are those not considered good days for the end of an auction? I always thought that weekends (at least Saturday) was better to get a higher price.
@Craig-Rex – The menu was a commission item for the guy that used to be my neighbor. I expect it was something his wife must have saved from a vacation. I agree it has Rainforest Cafe vibes! If you read my description in that listing, you will get the feeling that I spent some time researching the restaurant.
During the pandemic, I purchased several boxes in a live (outdoor) auction where I found an old chemical set. I was concerned that there was something hazardous in there, so put it aside for research. In my current drive to get rid of my DPs, I finally did the work. Nothing in there was an issue for shipping. I put it up for $49, and it was purchased the next day, so I assume I priced it too low.

These shoes were given to my son when he graduated the VoTech high school. They gave him a size 8.5, but he wears an 8. He had to buy new work shoes, and these finally sold for $105. I hope they stay sold.

This drink menu is from a Florida restaurant that is no longer in existence. It is now going back to Florida for $23.
11/01/2024 at 5:51 pm in reply to: Ebay Fall Seller Update – Feedback, Easier Sale on Entire Store #104147I think most of us are certainly feeling it. I don’t know if eBay can do much if the issue is the economy and election concerns.
I bought this glass cutting board as part of a online auction lot that cost me less than $5 total. I didn’t think the board was worth much, but I know to look up each item. Even vintage Corning “counter savers” were coming up less than $10. However, once I added the word “Sunflower” in the search, the price went right up! Sold for $40.

When I was helping my neighbor sell off his stuff, he handed me a vintage 1930s small suitcase that was full with Lionel trains and accessories. It has sat there for a year or more because I needed to do the research and I thought that I should test it. I finally just listed everything as untested. The locomotive has wear and I have no idea if it works, so I listed it lower than the working ones, but definitely higher than other untested ones, and it sold in a few hours for $63.
I listed 24 items, all DP.
This is against last week’s goal of 11 DP, so I’m holding onto 13 for future weeks. Add one to that (14) for an item that got donated this past weekend. I’m going to need this saved DP list because I’m running low which is a really good thing!!!
I hope everyone is healthy and up to their ears in listing!!
I hope you guys are having a great vacation! Since you mentioned it as a “new town”, I assume this is not your yearly NY trip.
I finally got around to listing a bunch of vintage Lionel train cars and accessories. This was one box I hadn’t listed since it requires some research, and originally I thought that I should test it, but I decided against that since it has been lying around for a year or two. Once everything was listed, the best item (the locomotive) sold in a few hours. This is still part of my commission sales for my neighbor.
I think sales are slow in general for this time of the year.

Number of items listed this week: 13I did list some items on Mecari a few years ago. From what I remember, they did not like you keeping items listed for more than a month or two, but otherwise was a good site.
What is a seller-fulfilled prime order? That sounds like a connection to Amazon.
If the buyer does not return the item in original condition, then isn’t eBay taking the risk? At least for our type of store?
This is the second vintage work light of three that I’ve sold. They did not sell during the online auction, and no one wanted them when I offered on Freecycling. This one sold for $45.

My parents brought me these two Bose mini speakers when they visited in August. I asked my dad if he could verify the model name, and he said they had belonged to his friend. I asked the friend, and he had no knowledge of them. When you get older, your mind becomes mushy. Not sure who to thank, but they sold for $90.

This is one of those little things purchased in a large auction lot, but worth more than what I expected. It is a glass funnel made by Pyrex. Sold for $18, probably paid pennies.

About two years ago, I purchased several Great Courses CD sets from my library’s yearly book sale. This is the second one to sell. I bought them at $2 each. This is way too slow, but they did sell for $39. This year, I bought one cookbook for myself.
I listed 13 items. Twelve were DP, and one was new-ish. (I bought the framed art years ago, but my parents decided they liked it and hung it in their home. They were given new art recently and decided to bring it back.)
Anyway, I’m starting to have to change what I mean by DP. Since I decided to have an online auction to make room in my basement, much of my DP (mostly clothes and untested electronics) will not be listed any time soon. I’m now working on an auction pickup from June which is in the throws of death, but not really there. I only have a few items that are true DP, but require some cleanup or research. They will be sprinkled in here and there, but I’m actually running out of true DP because of the mass cleanout planned for the new year.
@VT – Yes, this week’s challenge is 11.
It is very distinctive, and, after going down the rabbit hole of Teddy boys, I see where you are coming from. From the Wikipedia page, I see this outfit fitting in well with some of the photos on the right hand side.
