Ha, I’m trying, I’m trying …
It’s going up!
The vase looked familiar when I saw this post. My aunt gave me a picture frame from the same designer when I graduated college. After my college graduation photo got some kind of water damage, I put the frame away, and it has been sitting there for years. It’s the same brand. I wonder if it is worth something.
Mike – Could you look up this price in Worthpoint?
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/fujimori-kato-kogei-postmodern-1859687494Here’s mine:
This week was as good as last week. I listed 52 items.
I had to get the rotors and pads on my brakes replaced. I spent the time in the waiting room creating new listings and importing the photos. I had my Chromebook and iPhone with me. I could only create 10 listings before having to upload photos because the iPhone app only shows 10 draft listings at a time.
My son did do some work this week, but only 3 or 4 hours worth.
My sales have definitely improved with all this listing.
08/01/2019 at 9:12 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Pink flamingos, Converse Hi Tops, Zippo Wicks, Record Player, Stainer Violin #65767Steve – I remember seeing a conversation about pink flamings on Facebook months ago, maybe early spring. I’m sure they’ll all sell eventually.
I had a better week because I am up and listing again. Many of the items I am listing now were given to me by my parents’ downsizing friends when I was visiting in Florida a few weeks ago.
This item was free, but from a former colleague. He was cleaning out his garage. It is two sound blaster cards, never installed, with accessories for $40.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183818861089This flatware box was purchased by my mother at a flea market for $5 for my sister. My sister didn’t want it, so up it went. I guess I can’t itemize my mom’s COGS, can I? Anyway, any flatware box I’ve listed lately has sold very quickly, but not for huge amounts of money. This one was a bit bigger than the others, so I listed it for $34.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183900075141Here is a recently listed item given to me from a friend of my parents. He remodeled his garage for more storage space and found stuff he didn’t want anymore. This is a vintage brass menorah that sold for $24.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183896545140My biggest sale was also from the same guy, vintage Bausch & Lomb binoculars for a best offer $80. He actually did some research and found a listing for $150. I have to talk to him about looking at sold items when he does his research.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183900007276Week of July 21 – 27
* Total Items in Store: 1374 eBay, 3 Etsy
* Items Sold: 11
* Cost of Items Sold: $2.50 + $0 Commission
* Total Sales: $269.03
* Highest Price Sold: $80 Vintage Bausch & Lomb Binoculars
* Average Price Sold: $24.46
* Returns: 0
* Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $260
* Number of items listed this week: 50I am back from all the vacationing and was able to list quite a bit this week. My son is helping me out a bit with photography, so that helped with my productivity.
I listed a vintage Pyrex coffee percolator that was pulled down by eBay due to a recall. After I received that email, I remembered that subject coming up on the forum before. I’m not sure what to do with it now. Maybe I’ll just sell it as a coffee carafe without the percolator stuff inside, but I’ll list it on Etsy instead.
Yeh, VT, what is your scorpion story?
Holy Cow! That’s incredible, and now I’m really glad I didn’t start any crazy photography late at night!
I know that when I list things of similar type, such as an incomplete set of dishes, and the plates, the bowls, the mugs, etc. are listed separately, I can get many more items up than normal. I’m just changing the photos and a word or two in the title. If you are doing just fabric, and you are only changing color, type, or whatever detail as you go along, the process moves just so much faster and easier.
Congratulations on the number of listings and the sales coming in! More than half of my sales this weekend were from items just listed, so I know how that works!!
Amatino – Oh, I tried, and I came so close.
With my son helping out with photography, I listed 50 items. That’s right, just one less than Vintage Treasures!!
Now, he is doing OK behind the camera. Sometimes he doesn’t take enough photos, sometimes he messes up, but he does good too. He also doesn’t like to work more than about 1 hour a day.
There were two listings left where the photos aren’t good enough, but I didn’t feel like retaking them. The listings are already in draft. When I saw VT’s count of 51, the thought to set up and take the photos traveled through my brain for only a few seconds. I mean, it’s past 10PM here, and I wanna go to sleep.
But I came SO close.
Note: one listing was taken down by eBay because there is a recall against it, but it is part of my total count. I mean, I did list it, right?
07/27/2019 at 7:14 pm in reply to: Annual Rant About Ebay's Shipping Supplies-3rd Year in a row #65489When you want to use the coupon, make sure that you only buy supplies from the eBay shipping supply store:
https://www.ebay.com/str/ebayshippingsuppliesAt some point in my search, I clicked on something like “see more”. What came up was all the listings from people selling shipping supplies, not just from the store link above. The coupon only works for that store.
Also, the coupon does not apply automatically. It was somewhere at the bottom, and I had to click a box saying that I wanted to apply the coupon. Maybe it didn’t come up because you had stuff from two different sellers in your cart?
07/26/2019 at 1:46 pm in reply to: Annual Rant About Ebay's Shipping Supplies-3rd Year in a row #65453I ordered yesterday and noticed the same things. I bought 50 of the 12x10x8, which haven’t been available for quite some time (thanks, Sonia!), and 25 of the 8x6x4. My out of pocket was a bit over $15.
Put them in your blocked buyers list.
Not sure if this link will work for you:

I’ve never used the “Favorite” button next to “Subscribe” at the top of a post, but I just pressed it and figured out how to get back here when I need to. I just find my “Sharyn” profile page, and click on “Favorites”.
07/25/2019 at 11:55 am in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Suede rancher coat, Record Player, Models, Boombox, Collie p #65418I had a slow week. I’m just starting to list items after being very busy for over a month.
I did sell two women’s golf skorts in size 18 for $20 each. These were free from one of my parents’ friends. Here is one of them:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183499436518I paid less than $1 for this plush in the teddy bear auction lot I bought several months ago. I didn’t have a brand or age information, but it was much nicer than what I could describe. I sold it for $30 and received positive feedback.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183735005471I bought these fancy spoons in an auction lot about a year ago for $1 or so, and they sold for $30. It was bought by someone from the Marshall Islands at regular USPS first class postage. I believe they are a US territory, so the cost to ship was very reasonable.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/183335286728You don’t have to offer 1 day shipping to be a Top Rated seller. You have to offer 1 day shipping to get Top Rated Plus on a listing.
I offer 2 day shipping, and I am still Top Rated.
