I think you still need to be Top Rated in order to get these protections.
Aren’t those drop-off Amazon lockers for people in apartments and condos that don’t want their purchases sitting in a common room and on their front step? I always imagined that is why these lockers exist.
Hum, I wonder what was the original wording? Something similar to: until someone rips it out of my cold, dead hands …?
I had been considering moving some of my listings to free returns in order to get those protections, but sounds like I won’t need to do that now.
Ah, I’ve never sold through Amazon, so I wasn’t aware. I’ve bought things through eBay and received them with Amazon packaging, but I didn’t realize the purchase was FBA.
When I change my handling time on a shipping policy, it won’t change the listings that have an active offer, either an offer through a message or a make offer to watchers. It will put all those with an active offer in a copy. Once an offer becomes inactive, I can move that listing back to the original policy. The copy can be deleted once it has zero listings.
For my most recent vacation, I stopped making offers a few days before I wanted to change policies. However, when I was getting close to coming back home, I was getting some errors where a few listings weren’t getting changed and a copy was made, even though there were no offers out. I figured that it was a timing thing – the business policy function thought that edits should be completed in a certain time frame, but it took longer than expected. Just my guess, but it was definitely a glitch.
Anyway, once you move over to business policies you cannot use the bulk editor to make any changes. If you want to switch a policy on a certain group of listings, you have to make the change on individual basis.
I received the offer as well, but, at less than 1400 listings, it doesn’t make sense for me.
Managed Delivery will be available for fulfilling orders whether they’re placed on eBay, or other online marketplaces.
Are they going to fulfill your orders from Amazon and Walmart when something sells? That’s interesting.
@Amatino – I’ll try, but my son is not that interested and is learning slowly. However, I’m way up from the last few weeks!
So, what’s the book? Care to post a link?
Oh, yeh, my daughter has to get her wisdom teeth pulled in a few weeks. Fun times …
For the guy looking to ship many volumes of a book set, I need to add to what Ryanne said. I’ve done this before, and there is an issue with pricing out multiple boxes.
Media mail has a maximum weight. I forget what it is, but it is something like 25 pounds. So, if you have 50 pounds of books (been there), you can’t put that in. The good thing about media mail is that the price for shipping to any place in the US is the same. So, I have done it two ways:
Method #1: Calculate the cost to ship the two boxes, add that to the price, and mark it as free shipping. You have to remember and take that into account if someone makes an offer.
Method #2: Put in the maximum weight you can for media mail (you’ll have to play around to see if it is 25 pounds or not). Figure out what the other box(es) cost, and put that as a handling fee.
I think that the last time I did it, I used method #2. The one thing I was worried about is for an international sale. If it sold through GSP, then how does eBay properly determine the cost since I can’t put in the total weight? So, I took out the option for an international sale. I could have just let eBay figure it out, but I didn’t want to take any chances.
Either way, you have to adjust the shipping if USPS has a price increase while the listing is still up.
Good luck! I’ve done well selling sets of 100-year old encyclopedias (one was labeled a dictionary, and the other called itself a cyclopedia). Both were in somewhat distressed condition; at least on the outside.

07/22/2019 at 10:20 am in reply to: Anyone Figured Out the Best Days to Send Offers to Watchers #65225I usually send offers daily.
The best day for sales seems to change from month to month, year to year, so I expect that the best day to send offers would change as well.
Not everyone lives paycheck to paycheck, but many work during the weekdays and don’t find time to shop until the weekend. If you were interested in timing, you could wait until later in the week.
However, we don’t know eBay’s algorithm. The ability to send an offer to a watcher may drop off after a few days.
For some reason, I keep getting “unsubscribed” to this thread, and I miss some of the posts. I’m sure that it’s something I did, but I only do it to this one. The Thread #3, not the 2, not the 1, not the rest of the forum. Let’s hope I stay subscribed this time.
The listing that I resurrected had sold early this year, so it wasn’t too old. It had dropped off my eBay orders page, but I had the email from the sale. I clicked on the link, and that brought what was still left. Enough of the photos were there, but I had to save them to a folder, use sell similar, and then re-upload them. I’m sure if the listing was much older, I would have lost the photos.
I do save my photos in Amazon Photos. I can sometimes search using a key word, and I’ll find them, but I wasn’t able to in this case.
I made two new listings from that resurrected one (one needed new photos), and that is it for me. This week will be better. I’ll be tackling the stuff I brought from Florida, and I’ll have my son helping me with photos.
Amatino, I’m sorry to hear about your dog, but glad that he is doing all right.
eBay will highlight items that are over 16 months old, and you are supposed to end and re-list them. Perhaps your items that disappeared were in this category.
Last summer (end of June, beginning of July-ish), eBay had a glitch where some items lost their photos when they were re-listed. Did you ever fix your listings at that time? If you did, I did hear of additional times where this happened, but it didn’t affect me.
I have had an item drop off of eBay, but it wasn’t in that 16-month age timeframe, so I’m not sure what happened.
Yes, eBay has issues, glitches, problems, etc. I have one where I edit a listing (not each one, just some), and the information in the condition description including the pull-down menu where you select new, used, open-box, etc. is lost. I have to look at the listing without the edit mode, copy, and paste back in.
