Hopefully you shipped via priority mail so it was insured. I think nesting them inside each other was the problem. I mean, I would’ve put the small one inside the large one, but kept the middle one separate. Wrapping too snuggly can be problematic.
I would definitely add Bronze to your title. Love that quote by Twain. Where did you get this and for how much?
Burying it ensured a constant temperature, and a cooler one than could be achieved above ground. Nom nom.
Is it possible there was a missing cd or something? Some textbooks come with stuff. If it’s not possible then that would be your best angle when talking with ebay… “how could a book be missing parts?!?”, etc…
Depends if it was a lot of money. If it was a lot then escalate it, send photos to ebay and report the buyer. Be prepared for a bit of a debate but stay calm. Best of luck!
Jay – Do you get paypal notifications on your phone for all of these:
– money coming in
– money going out
– ebay shipping label purchased (another form of money going out)They got me fixed to the point that I get an email for ebay shipping label purchased but that’s it. No phone notifications at all.
Thanks!Yes, I think that was strange advice. Anything said over the phone would not be documented. I would still email your buyer every other day and keep asking for more information. Ebay will see that and know that you did your best. You may have gotten a hold of a bad rep at ebay. If you call again you might get better help.
Yes, no spam from paypal. Yahoo mail is really sucky lately. I’d like to switch over completely to gmail but I’ve got tons of saved emails that I rely on. For instance, if we can’t find a sold item in the bin it’s supposed to be in then I go into my saved ‘ebay listings’ folder, search for the item, and that tells me the date it was listed. Then I can use the date to find the item in my listings binder. It’s like a fail safe system. I keep a 3 ring binder chronologically while I’m listing. It has saved our butts a couple times. I just have tons of stuff that I’ve saved over the years in yahoo mail.
Yes, I’ve tried everything. Even added another email account. I was on hold for an hour and finally got through to tech support. They found where phone notifications was turned off, but they are stumped about the email issue. But at least I have a ticket number now for when I call back.
My favorites are:
1) SCAVENGER LIFE, SHAMPOO & BOOZE yay!
2) In Our Time (BBC)
3) Masterpiece Studio (PBS)
4) Freethought Radio (FFRF)
5) Revolution Health Radio (Chris Kresser)
6) Sam Harris (philosphy, current events)
7) Wise Traditions (Weston A. Price Foundation)
8) Vacation Rental Success – just started with this one
9) Joette Calabrese (homeopathy)
10) Chris Masterjohn (health & nutrition)Yes, Jay and Ryanne, you come out ahead of the BBC. 🙂
I tried to listen to Afford Anything, and I did listen to the J&R one, but her delivery is so breathy and gaspy it’s hard to handle. I love SL and Shampoo & Booze (please don’t stop making them). The other Airbnb one (Get Paid for Your Pad) I don’t like. Yes, I’ve been spoiled by J&R!
Craigslist Hunter is very interesting although once in a while he posts such a long boring video (in his shop) that I’m reluctant to watch sometimes. (Is he Russian?) If it’s more than 10 or 15 minutes I’m skipping it. I like my youtubes to be packed with goodies and as little fluff as possible. Our favorite is Nomadic Fanatic which is about a guy who lives in his motorhome with his cat. Also, CheapRVLiving which is about vandwellers and how to live comfortably in a small space on wheels.
I just did this yesterday because it said “artist and architect” in the buyer’s name field on paypal. Found out that this person is a very much despised professor in Atlanta. So now I’m praying that the item gets there ok and we don’t manage to aggravate them in any way!
Yup, super slow.
@MyCottage – How do you build the shipping into your prices? You never know if an item will go one town over, or across the country.
We don’t get a lot of returns but whenever someone wants to return something they always choose some reason so that they don’t have to pay the shipping or restocking fee. Maybe once a month? Not sure but it’s so aggravating. If it was our fault I’d be like – Here’s all your money back and keep the item. I’ve done that a couple times. But when a buyer wants to return boots that don’t fit, and claims they are defective?! Sheesh! Still haven’t heard back from Paypal.
