I haven’t posted our sales in a while. This whole month has been very soft for us, but we did have a couple days where the cha chings were back.
Highest sale was this 1905 Sears Catalog that we got at our local auction for $72, sold for 220:

I had lots of problems with Bonanza too. I wasn’t getting notified when something sold. Way too much trouble for what it was worth.
Wow, must be some, er, interesting people who live there. First I laughed, then I had to wonder at the statuary fetish.
@Jay – we have two roombas and it’s an adventure everyday coming home to see where they got stuck this time. Or you can equate it with an easter egg hunt, when you notice that the roomba isn’t on its charger. Where could it be….
@Ryanne – I was surprised to hear that ebay hasn’t been sending you confirmation emails when you list. Except for a couple days about 2 years ago I always get an email. Why, oh why, is ebay so glitchy?
Sales have been softly slow here too. Good thing we don’t depend on ebay alone. We both work full time. I don’t absolutely hate my job since I enjoy the actual work, but there are always one or two people that I don’t have good chemistry with. I just love how the money appears in our checking account so it would be hard to give that up! The house is paid for so every month we can add a big chunk to savings. Our big project this year is fixing up that old Airstream and getting it up on Airbnb. Once that takes off (IF it takes off) I’ll probably have to quit my job. We are planning on spending a lot of money to get it going though…. to make it a nice vacation spot. There is a nice view already, so we will have to invest in a driveway, slab/patio, septic system, covered picnic table area (metal), outdoor shower, fire ring, etc…
We’ve been playing with the ssn.gov estimated retirement $ calculator for quite a while. I think the older you get the more you play with it. 🙂 Ha, not a double entendre.
I think you’d have a very hard time lifting it out of the tub once it is wet. If you can get it outside, and have a sturdy place to hang it for drying then I’d attempt it. We’ve cleaned smaller wool rugs outside in a large tub of water. I used Woolite and an organic pyrethrin type of insecticide since we had wool moths. Just agitated them by hand for a little while, tons of dirt came out, then rinsed and hung them up outside until they stopped dripping. Then moved them indoors out of direct sunlight to finish drying. It was an adventure.
If only sugar-free Jello was made without aspartame that would be so great. I’ve heard of people using kool-aid packets for the flavor, then adding their own no-carb sweetener, but it’ll still have artificial colors and flavors. Argh, why is it so hard to eat healthy?

Hopefully you shipped via priority mail so it was insured. I think nesting them inside each other was the problem. I mean, I would’ve put the small one inside the large one, but kept the middle one separate. Wrapping too snuggly can be problematic.

Is it possible there was a missing cd or something? Some textbooks come with stuff. If it’s not possible then that would be your best angle when talking with ebay… “how could a book be missing parts?!?”, etc…
Depends if it was a lot of money. If it was a lot then escalate it, send photos to ebay and report the buyer. Be prepared for a bit of a debate but stay calm. Best of luck!

Thanks!Yes, I think that was strange advice. Anything said over the phone would not be documented. I would still email your buyer every other day and keep asking for more information. Ebay will see that and know that you did your best. You may have gotten a hold of a bad rep at ebay. If you call again you might get better help.
Yes, no spam from paypal. Yahoo mail is really sucky lately. I’d like to switch over completely to gmail but I’ve got tons of saved emails that I rely on. For instance, if we can’t find a sold item in the bin it’s supposed to be in then I go into my saved ‘ebay listings’ folder, search for the item, and that tells me the date it was listed. Then I can use the date to find the item in my listings binder. It’s like a fail safe system. I keep a 3 ring binder chronologically while I’m listing. It has saved our butts a couple times. I just have tons of stuff that I’ve saved over the years in yahoo mail.
