They’ve always been slow in my experience, but I haven’t ordered anything recently. They use Parcel Select and I think there is still enough increased volume of packages that the supply orders are only going to move when there is room.
If you’re running short you should be able to get most boxes at your post office in small quantities.
I better check my supplies tomorrow to give extra time if I’m getting low on any of these.
I live by myself (other than my dog) and pretty much keep to myself weekdays. I normally spend weekends with my girlfriend and we get out to eat or other social situations. In my little town all I have to do is walk my dog, go to the grocery store, post office, etc. to see people that I know and often stop to chat with them. That’s another of those small-town things that many people might not understand.
.
Seriously, I would be embarrassed to show my messy shipping area. It does get the job done though.
My primary cheap small town entertainment: I have 3 grandchildren in school here, all very active in (and very good at) various sports, I love watching them play. Right now Karli (15), and Kady (12) are playing volleyball. Kady also runs cross country. Brycen plays both flag and tackle football. All 3 will be starting basketball soon. Over 65 admission is free for home games, I will be going to Karli’s VB game tonight.
My girlfriend lives in a KC suburb, we usually swap weekends so I get my fill of a more urban life twice a month and that’s plenty. Every 6 weeks or so we will go to one of the many wineries within a few hundred miles and stay in a bed and breakfast. Oh, yes, Missouri has a lot of wineries.
Not much COVID in this area, there’s hardly a mask to be seen in my town but I keep one in the car for when I go somewhere else where it is required.
It’s a great life. Not what I expected for this time in my life, but still great.
My last employment was with IBM, one of the innovators of work from home. In 2006 I moved to rural Missouri, a small town of 1100, and worked from home then retired in 2015. My motivation for the move was being closer to family, especially the grandchildren, and looking ahead to retirement on the horizon (I was 57 at the time).
Small towns have changed so much over the years, what with internet, satellite tv, online shopping, and small town chains like Caseys, Dollar General, etc. I lived in a very rural area in the 1970’s and there wasn’t anything within 25 miles open past 5 during the week or noon on Saturday, remote shopping consisted of ordering from the mail-order catalogs, and we only got a few TV channels. Gas stations sold gas and maybe had a soda machine and a few snacks for sale, but no extended hours.
We are seeing new families moving to our little town, its all for the good in my opinion. There is a transition period and habit adjustment, but I believe they will find out it is a worthwhile improvement over large cities, with less stress.
You could wait until tomorrow, if you don’t hear from them cancel with an explanation and apology but it might be best to just cancel it with an explanation, then relist with a link to the new listing for the buyer in case they still want it. A ding for cancellation or for NAD, I’d rather see the cancellation myself.
Your other option is to buy the CD new if you can find it and send it to the buyer. Even if that costs you extra money you are fulfilling your end of the purchase obligation. But that’s just me because I know how I would feel with the shoe on the other foot.
During tough economic times, there are always some folks who want to try to make a few bucks on eBay but have no clue about selling. That could be some of what you are seeing. Others could be counterfeit items from China.
So, I actually put everything up to 20% on this small store, 31 day sales were up 200% both in quantity and dollars. And, the 20% rate was only on there for half of the 31 day peri0d.
Sales on the little store are so slow that it would not be valid to make a conclusion on this small volume and short time, but interesting. Since I have TRS and the total cost was well under $30, it didn’t cost me a thing ou-of-pocket.
This is not unusual, a buyer finds out they have to pay for return shipping and come up with some contrived reason it isn’t there fault. I would call eBay to see what they say, probably refund at their expense I suspect.
Just going from memory, which can be faulty at times, I think the buyer can opt out of getting offers.
You might want to check on a 3rd party shipping label service. ShippingEasy has a free version for under 30 orders a month. Just keep that for these special occasions like this, print a label and drop off at the post office or let your carrier pick up. The rates are less than the post office, I don’t know how they compare to eBay shipping rates.
Could also be useful for those times eBay shipping is down and you are running out of time to get your daily shipping done.
I imagine other shipping sources have something similar.
I don’t get any results at that link.
The 4x4x6 boxes are nice for small items and don’t take up a lot of space. I use those for First Class parcel when the weight is 4 oz or less, instead of poly mailer and for international shipment of smallish parts.
It came by FedEx late this afternoon.
Yes, it was an option when signing up for the 25 year wing ding. I think there were limited available, first come first served. A packet of other stuff I won’t have time to look at, leaving fir a weekend visit in a few minutes.
