I think if a package like this goes through it’s just because USPS doesn’t monitor that very well. It’s not unusual for me to get packages from eBay sellers using a very low weight or using flat rate postage on a large non-flat rate package.
I think it’s been at least a year since USPS announced they were going to start charging or refunding for an incorrect rate charged due to weight but I’ve never seen it happen. But then, I’m very accurate about weights with using a USB connected scales that directly adjusts the weight as I ship. I’m personally in favor of these charges/refunds as long as they are accurate, it would help stop the current situation of honest shippers subsidizing the dishonest shippers.
I would think also since the USPS now has a photo process in place for most mail and packages, that technology should allow monitoring the box type compared to the postage used.
I’m diabetic. Test strips are very cheap and for those on Medicare they are free in that Medicare reimburses the pharmacy 100%, so you lose that part of the market. My meter was free when I changed to a different brand.
I haven’t had a FSA since I retired from a full time job 5 years ago, so I don’t know what is actually covered any more.
I like the idea of stocking up on things your family uses now, then perhaps reducing next year’s deduction to balance out.
You might be able to play with weight and dimensions to get close to the total for 2 boxes.

The Friday (come on baby lets do…)
You’ve lost that lovin’ Friday

It’s kind of an oddball box. If a person truly was shipping a board game it would almost certainly be light enough that shipping it with just Priority Mail would be cheaper. The only time I have ever used them several time shipping 2 shock absorbers to Puerto Rico (with lots of filler to keep them from sliding around and extra tape on the ends to keep them from pile-driving out the end). For mainland addresses, USPS or UPS are cheaper for those.
Everyone, I doubt that R&J will ask so I will. Please don’t forget to leave positive feedback. Even though Ryanne and Jay are very experienced, other eBay buyers don’t know that and the new eBay account needs to build up a higher feedback count to help get things really rolling. We’ve all been there.
I don’t understand why eBay does this. USPS Priority Mail commercial rate include $100 insurance for Priority mail, non-commercial rate only covers $50. You should still be getting commercial rates since that is the rate eBay gets from USPS and should be getting the same $100 coverage on Priority Mail/Priority Mail Extress shipments regardless of TRS or any other factors. Does eBay also charge the higher non-commercial postage rates for non-TRS sellers?
A possible option: ShippingEasy has a free starter plan which covers up to 50 shipments per month and has the same USPS commercial rates as eBay. Once you set up your account orders are pulled in automatically from eBay and tracking is uploaded atuomatically. You can pick and choose the ones you want to ship with them, such as Priority Mail $50 to $100. You need a credit or debit card. You also get a very good UPS rate through them and it’s very simple to compare USPS/UPS rates on any specific order.
The bonus is you have a fall-back shipping process, if eBay shipping is down you can still ship all your daily orders with minimum hassle.
I received the fine-grind Southern Split yesterday and tried it last night. I’m not a coffee connoisseur but I know what I like when I taste it and this was excellent! The last time I tasted coffee that good was after dinner at an expensive restaurant. The taste was strong the way I like it, without a burnt or bitter taste. I played around with the amount of coffee to use with the Keurig, 1 tablespoon to 8 ounces of water was very good, I’ll be testing more with different ratios.
It’s too good for my first cup of coffee in the morning, I’m slow to get moving and I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the difference. Very fast processing and Priority Mail shipping. I was surprised to smell the coffee as soon as I opened the flat rate envelope, yum.
Can you sell the item without earphones for 50% or more?
Sorry to hear about this. I’ve had kidney stones, it was very painful. I had laser surgery, no more issues but I do have 1 more big one the Dr. is keeping track of. I’ve also had gall stones, it’s a toss-up on which pain is the worst.
I would suggest working your way back into it. Tell yourself I can do 1 hour today, and do it. Then keep adding to that as you feel like it.
Good luck.
I got a shipping confirmation this morning on the order I placed yesterday. I did add a note on grind.
I found out how this mistake happened, it’s a bug in bulk edit.
I have about 6 shipping policies but most are in my default shipping policy which has free standard shipping for the U.S. and calculated shipping for International
For a simplified example, let’s say you have 275 listings, 210 with default shipping policy, the other listings use other shipping policies. From the active listings page, I used the filter to select the default shipping policy, resulting in 210 listings displayed.
I used the top box in the list to select all, then from the edit option there are 2 options, “Edit Selected” or “Edit all 210 listings”.
If you click on “Edit Selected”, the result is the 210 listings go to the bulk edit screen, as expected. Make the needed change and save. Easy stuff.
But, if you use “Edit all 210 listings” option, ALL 275 listings are loaded to the bulk edit screen! If you don’t notice this then you are going to edit all listings instead of just the 210 you expected to edit, creating the mess I have now.
You can test this, I have checked it multiple times. I think this only happens with the shipping policy filter, but I’m not sure. I test with a filter on the title and used a specific word. Either edit selection option worked correctly.
Actually, I have over 10 times as many listings as the example, split out over 6 shipping policies. I don’t know which listings should be in default and which need to be assigned to one of the other shipping policies. A ridiculous amount of work to fix this, with the probability that some will not be returned to the correct policy.
I don’t know off the top of my head what the process is to report a bug, or if I can stand to spend the time with the extra work I have that was caused by this. Maybe after I finish fixing the issue before it cost me lots of money.
I can’t find that, can you post the link that is in that message?
Well, I screwed that up, changed all my shipping policies instead of just the default policy. What a mess to try and fix.
This reminded me I need to do something about this. All my listings have shipping included, aka free shipping. I’m right now in the process of creating a new shipping policy to charge .25 for standard shipping and an extra .40 for expedited delivery. The unknown is if this will affect sales more than just eating the extra cost.
