I had bought the 8x6x4 for hats and for some hats the 8″ wasn’t enough for the brim. I don’t like it to be bent to fit in the box. This time I ordered the 10x10x10. It’s going to be overkill I know.

When I hear the term ‘eat on it’ I picture Jay with this animal carcass that you ‘eat on’ for days, head down, watching for other scavengers who want a bite.

No-one polices etsy for vintage as far as I know. I’ve been selling for over three years and have never been questioned. I’ve also never seen anyone post in the forums about having a problem with their listings.
Part of the etsy listing form is a required field where you choose either ‘1997 and older’ or a specific era. Before that field you choose if it is a supply or a finished item. If it is a supply to make something it can be any age even new.
If you want to ‘beat’ the system and list things newer than 1997 but say that they are older I don’t think anything will stop you. Or if you just aren’t sure you can guess that it is 1997 or older. For me it’s not so much whether etsy will catch something I sell newer and close my listing its the satisfaction of my customers. I want to be as sure as possible because I want happy customers. If I’m not sure of an era I choose 1997 or older because I am always sure of that. I don’t sell items that are so close that they could be 1998 or 1997 or 2001…. Most of the items I sell are pre 80s or they have dates on them. If there is no date with a little research I can identify the era. I sell many craft patterns and kits which are dated. Books which are always dated. Pottery, art, household items are all pretty easy to research. I have a harder time with clothing so I usually just sell clothing that is 80s or older. I don’t list 90s clothing. I think people who are younger have an easier time with 90s clothing. They can remember when they wore a particular style or item and know if it was early 90s or late 90s.
Anything you make art wise is fine. That is how etsy started; a place for people to sell their arts and crafts. It doesn’t matter when you made it or the age of your materials.

We had one of these when I was a kid. Cheese is only one of the many many things these are used for. They are used to grate and slice. Potatoes for hash browns, cabbage for cole slaw, carrots, cucumbers etc. They can be worth good money. You have the attachments. It’s somewhat a forerunner to the food processor 🙂 I would use keywords like vegetable, grater, stainless steel, attachments, cutter, slicer, vintage, cones
Ours was not attached to the counter. It had a suction cup under the base to keep it in one place.

I don’t equate vintage with quality. It’s often true but to me doesn’t preclude an item’s vintageness.
I also sell on etsy. On etsy you can’t sell anything unless it is vintage or handmade. Vintage is deemed anything 20 years or older. Did they set that limit or is that from some other source? I don’t know.
Usually I do immediately list it on etsy. Sometimes I decide one platform is better than the other for that item and I will only list it on one of them.
Jay I cross post items on eBay and etsy. I end the sale on one site when it sells on the other. I haven’t had any issues so far where I forgot or it sold on both sites.
I’ve considering doing that but never got around to identifying something that fit those parameters. Super easy to list and cheap. I’m glad to hear that it works for you though.
I leave all of my Christmas listed all year. The majority of it does sell between November and January. I’ve sold a couple of Christmas items this week after Christmas was over. If you had the room to keep it and go through it slowly I would get it for that price.
Overall I think you’re doing a good job. I recently discovered the website fotofuze that easily whitens the background of photos. I noticed some of yours seem kind of dark. You might want to try whitening them especially for high end items.
I noticed you don’t ship overseas. Is it too expensive? Something you’ve tried and didn’t like? or have you not considered it?
For your cookbooks I would change ‘cook book’ to cookbook. If you type it into ebay’s search that is the way it comes up by default. Not sure if it matters but I would either type it that way or both ways.
I use every bit of title space I can. Add words from you’re description like color, stripes etc. Add Ladies, Mens, Womens etc
List, list and list.
