Burn out sucks. I get it almost every day. I start out great and then around 2 or 3 just want to take a nap…
My titles are identical to my ebay titles to begin with. After I copy and paste them I add more keywords and I try and keep keywords in the same order as they are in in my tags. I try and use all the real estate I have so I stuff my titles. They don’t look very pretty.

One thing I like about etsy is that you see each day what search terms were used to find your items.
A question for JL. When you are financially independent how do you obtain health insurance. Can you get it through Obamacare (for now) even though you have all this money set aside or do you purchase it outside? Are the costs of your healthcare super high? Since my income is low my healthcare through obamacare is very affordable. What is it like for those of you with higher incomes?
Jay the only social media I use is Pinterest. I do pin all of my listings but I don’t think it does much. I do get a few views from pins but I don’t think it would matter if I quit pinning.
Titles and Tags are King on Etsy.
I create my ebay listing first and then copy and paste to Etsy. After that I enhance my title as Etsy allows a lot more characters in the title. Then I create my tags. Tags should not be one word and they need to be replicated in your title. For instance you wouldn’t want to use the tag chair as that would bring up thousands of items were it searched. You want to use a tag such as ‘victorian chair’. And use all of your tags. There are 20 given to you.
Here is a screen shot of one of my listings’ tags. The first couple are category tags put in default by etsy. The rest are mine.
You can also go in the forums and ask for a critique of your store. People do this all the time. Other more experienced sellers will tell you how to improve your tags/titles.

Hey! I grew up in northeastern wisconsin. I’ve never been to the bins by you, I’m assuming you go to the ones in appleton? How are they? I travel by that way a lot and probably will stop in there some time.
I like thrifting up north when I go visiting up there. There is a great thrift store in Wausaukee if you ever travel that way. It’s two buildings don’t miss the second if you go. It’s not obvious that it is part of the store. I also really like the St Vincent in Sheboygan.

I too am in the Southeastern part of Wisconsin. I have never been to the Goodwill Outlet in Appleton. I used to live in Milwaukee. Maybe we could meet in Appleton one of these days. I actually travel north quite a bit.
Ryanne I had one Truegether sale just last week. I check the site every day because I don’t check my email every day.
I googled one of my items the other day and a Truegether ad with my item showed up in google shopping. It said free shipping which I don’t offer but when I actually went to the site and checked my item didn’t have free shipping. They definitely don’t have the kinks worked out. I was happy to see my items showing up in google search though.
How do they make any money?

When I take the photo that I’m going to use for my gallery shot I edit it two ways. One I save as a square photo for ebay and one I save as an 8×10 for etsy. That way there is no awkward cropping of my picture on etsy. I take pictures using a camera and edit them using a photo editor. I don’t use ebay or etsy to edit my photos. I’ve tried but have found they just don’t do the job for me.
Then I create my listing on ebay first. After that I create my etsy listing. I just copy and paste all of my text right from ebay for my title and description. I then add as many relevant keywords to my title as I can think of as etsy allows a much longer title. After that I create my tags.
I’m so happy to see an etsy board created! Now I have all my favorite things (ebay and etsy) in one place! And I’d love to help others starting out on etsy.
