as usual, love the video. question for ya, what type of phone do you use to make your videos?
I have a feeling the Antonov 225 model sold quickly as there was only one of these aircraft in the world actively flying and it was recently destroyed at it’s home base airport in Ukraine.
those law books were just an awesome buy. I’ve got to be closing in on a thousand dollars in sales for what was a $3.50 bid on a couple huge bins of books. Scavenge for life!!
I got 7 done…and the only reason I knocked that out was because I wanted to hop on here and be able to say I got my goal done for last week! so this works!
Just a bump on this one to see if there are any other Dallas area resellers on here. I seem to run into plenty at estate sales but haven’t yet ended up exchanging info
back on track with 15 listings for me.
I’m recently separated (soon to be divorced) and spent a fair amount of the V-day weekend doing some ebay sorting and listing (among other house work). the listing paid off as one item sold the same day.
Thanks for the comment!
Halfprice books seems to be doing well….and I assume mainly because they are literally buying at pennies on the dollar.
The comic I sold I had purchased at least 15 years ago and believe was able to get a discount out of them. Even with the discount and time gone by I maybe at best made $5.00 on it. but better $5 in my pocket then an item I don’t need sitting on a bookshelf in my house.
I was able to list 11 items and finally hit 400 items in my store! of course that will drop into the 300’s as soon as I sell something but happy to hit 400 if even for a day!
Hi Amatino….you can put down 7 as a realistic goal number for me.
and last week ironically that’s what I listed on Ebay. and if we count listings anywhere (ebay, facebook, craigslist, etc) then I actually had 11 total as I listed some higher priced items on FB marketplace and Craiglist.
speaking of an “inventory” tax. I owned a retail business in Maryland a couple decades ago and they had an inventory tax. This was a state imposed tax. If I remember correctly it was based on the cost of goods and was very minimal. I reported an inventory with a cost basis of around 12k? and maybe paid a couple hundred in tax?
I also had a sales tax license for MD so was not paying sales tax on purchases, only on the item once sold. but again, this was with a retail store front.
I guess I need to look to see if this exists here in TX.
16 items for me over the past 7 days, and 4 of those I did while traveling and one of those already sold!
I’ve been doing pretty well the last couple weeks with my listing. currently going through a separation and soon divorce so there were a few weeks where I just couldn’t get anything done as I was moving.
Good times ahead, I can feel it!
01/07/2022 at 4:59 pm in reply to: Ancient video camera, Casserole dish, Breadmaker motor, Panasonic flip clock #94600that’s some eclectic stuff! I’ve still got a couple clock radios to sell, bought before I realized that it’s the clock with the flip numbers that are in demand.
Excellent thread. and in some ways very similar to comic books of the mid 80’s to late 90’s. Another factor is how many people used to buy these things to “enjoy” as in use, read, touch feel and then not take good care of and eventually get thrown out…. and how many people started collecting thinking they were also investing.
but if 90% of the people buying are collecting/investing then that item will never really be scarce and the value will generally never go up. at least in the comic book world.
I just did it with 200 items. actually about 35 had issues that needed to be fixed so probably good I did this
yes i did! that went really quick, so I probably didn’t ask for enough…LOL
I’m looking forward to the first few weeks in Jan, hoping to make up for lost time with the estate sales.
