For Sept 15 to 21…. surprised it was only 3 sales. I’ve been listing a lot. Really trying to list multiple times a week. Daily if I can help it. Also trying to keep at the death pile stuff. List List List!

@christine… I watched a couple from one of the Y-tubers you mentioned in your Ebay open post. Also J-Ride Flips, just started watching his. Thrift a Life (although I really don’t sell clothes) and a few others for specific content such as making a photo booth, best lights to use, etc
@christiner… sounds like a pretty successful flea market! I used to buy a fair number of books but recently have been sticking to just a couple categories due to prices. I feel like I’ll find a book and a bunch of listings for it of $30 to $40 and then one person selling it for $7 with free shipping!

I prefer to do flat rate postage for my listings as I’d be concerned that Ebay won’t charge enough. Since ebay already takes some of the shipping money I mark that up to compensate. I also add in about $1 for packing materials.
Having said that, I was watching a reseller on Youtube recently who says that he generally uses the “calculate shipping” method because he said Ebay generally over charges by about 30%. essentially another revenue stream for him. I’ve asked for clarification on how that works and waiting for his reply.
I don’t think I’m formally in the challenge but trying to help keep the website going by participating wherever possible.
Not sure how the week runs but from Sept 10 to 17 I listed 29 items. Probably a record for me. I’ve been watching a couple “new to me” resellers on You Tube and am feeling inspired.
I’ve also been reorganizing my storage bins (condensing items to make room for more) and while doing so have found things that are not currently listed that I could swear I had listed. At this point I’m not surprised that I’ve found something but more how many items I’ve found.
here’s what I’ve got for Sept 8-14 .
I’ve been on a roll with listing and suppose that’s why I’m selling more. I spent a few hours in the garage last week consolidating my storage bins. For storage I number my bins and boxes and then list that in the notes for each item. I started doing it after already having a few hundred items listed so I’m still catching up on going through and adding storage location info to items. It’s also helped me discover a lot of stuff that I though was listed and is not. I’ve also been doing lots of End Listing and Relist to groups of 10 items at a time. Trying to update prices and info as I go.

@christiner I sold my store as I got married and moved from Baltimore to Dallas. It ended up changing hands another time before being closed last year. Very neat that something I started in the mid 90’s lasted until the early 2020’s. From time to time I’ve thought about opening a shop of some sort in Dallas but renting a space is just too expensive.
I do think the “shopping” videos are neat and watch them from time to time. I like it when they list comps or values.

No money spent as no estate sales were visited. I’m getting a fair amount of listing done with stuff I’ve bought in the last couple months and let pile up.
no scavenging for me this past weekend. I did however spend some time taking pics and listing a bunch of stuff I already have.
my sales for this particular week were pretty good with one higher dollar item.
Rookwood vase I had listed at $265.00 and took an offer of $175.00. https://www.ebay.com/itm/197258115476 – the vase had a hairline crack and so difficult to tell what kind of value it would ultimately have. Considering I got this for free I’ll take the $175 🙂
Radio controlled aircraft engine for $35.00
https://www.ebay.com/itm/197298716643 – got this one at an estate sale. paid around $125.00 for a box of misc r/c engines. I have no way to test them so having to sell them as is. So far have sold 6 of them totaling $295.00 before ebay fees.oops…should’ve mentioned the claim would be for damage to the item.
the item was damaged at some point during shipping. No idea if it was damaged before or after it made it to the Ebay re-ship facility.
My guess is maybe it was opened by customs at the destination country and not repacked well but no way to prove that.
