@Retro my teen daughter also lost interest in photographing for me for the time being. 🙂
I did some minimal scavenging in Australia. Most of the thrift shops in Sydney are heavy on clothing, very little hard goods. They seem to be big on American brands and I don’t really like looking through clothes. While we were up in the Blue Mountains area, I did find some fun thrift shops and bought the above West German vintage art deco vase (not my listing).
Then, on returning home, my daughter’s high school football team was having a rummage sale. Having jet lag I got there late and ended up making a bundle deal for new sample Hoka clothing – 11 items for $30. Some are extra smalls and will move slowly I’m sure, but I thought I would try it out and help them out.
Sale of the week for July 23-29 https://www.ebay.com/itm/234933109785 best offer of $70. Paid pennies at a rummage sale.
Ugh Julie sorry for that bad luck.
I’ll have 28 for this current week. Off we go tomorrow on vaca.

Ugh. Lost my post with an error message.
Bottom line was an ok week with bunched up sales. R&J I guessed right last time with the coffee shop but I thought it would be a restaurant. Congrats on closing in on another great project! Going on vacation soon and started business policies this week but still haven’t updated old listings. Have a great week!
38 for me. We are counting down to our big trip. I hope to crank out some listings before we leave on Saturday. Have quite a few waiting for pictures. Going Down Under to Australia. My daughter is singing with a chior at the Opera House in Sydney.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/334893832503 Goodwillfinds.com purchase. They started these higher than this. I watched it until they got down to about $30 plus a free shipping promotion. Just took a few weeks to sell. Happy with that profit. This is the second of about 5 items I bought for resale. They have all been packed very well. Some of the listings are poor though.
I feel like Goodwillfinds is going pretty well for them. I forget to check in until they are running a promo and many of my favorited items are selling higher than I want to pay. Also the amazing early shipping cost doesn’t seem to be so amazing anymore. Worth a look still. Also I read recently that some other Goodwills are still on Shopgoodwill.com. I haven’t been looking over there.

Super great find from a family run estate sale that I stopped into late after seeing a friend. I bundled a bunch of items for $20. Always look up high and down low friends!
When I get through the piles I look forward to trying estate sales. It would be easy to catch @Retro’s fever after a couple of stops like this one. I’ll take better pictures later when my dining room is free. Got a reflection in the light box.

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $90+
Number of items listed this week: 43Pretty happy with Ebay this week. Almost all of my sales came in one swoop on Sunday morning. I don’t get the timing sometimes. I found out I previously shipped the wrong $95 craft kit to a buyer who liked and kept it and didn’t mention. Then sold it to a new buyer this week and had to cancel for out of stock. Ouch. We leave on a big vacation to Sydney, Australia in a week and a half, so I hope to cook up a lot of listings before I go. I usually don’t leave my store on for a trip that’s 10 days like this one. I’m debating.
Continuing with the death piles (misc. ceramics, mugs, bookends and randomness), plus went to our two little flea markets and one thrift trip. I listed most of the things I picked up this week. Every once in a while on the “profit” piles I find an item worth over $50 and it’s great. I’m glad that I didn’t really make true death piles. 4th of July I did pick up some items on the big sales and I am reminded how it’s great to use stock photos and how quickly those items sometimes sell.
Have a good week everyone!

It seems ok, but I kind of wish I would have gone with this one with lights on the sides as well. My daughter said the front of some items was not getting light but maybe she wasn’t placing the item well or should have closed the front flap. https://www.amazon.com/PULUZ-Professional-Shooting-Photography-Backdrops/dp/B0B6VGN6KR/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=4CBYKWMGOAW8&keywords=light+box+upgrade&qid=1689606294&sprefix=light+box+upgrade%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-1-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
Thanks Craig. I’m going on a big trip in 10 days so I hope to power out a bunch of listings before we leave. I was thinking too about Jay’s podcast discussion of the flea markets where we are all part of the food chain. I definitely miss the podcast but I’m so happy for their local success. It’s very cool to witness. I listen to Pure Hustle podcast, which is ok if you skip through their promotions. They are Scavenger Life disciples.
In our town, Craigslist is still the best place to look, but people do put them on Facebook group sites and Nextdoor. We aren’t big enough for those cool yard sale apps.
This was the golden week of finding textiles. In addition to the flea market haul, I came across a bunch of brand new linens at the thrift store. They didn’t really price them consistently so I had to leave some behind sadly. https://www.ebay.com/itm/235087419979 I bought 5-6 Williams Sonoma because that brand is reliable for the price I had to pay. There were about 30 pieces of new April Cornell and I bought about 10 of them, this one being the most expensive set. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334953036643 My best guess is that someone was a compulsive shopper and relatives donated these discontinued items. April Cornell went out of business here a few years back and this person evidently went nuts. All of that haul is listed. That thrift never runs sales, so sadly I left behind the $10-15 profit stuff. Elsewhere I also found two duvet sets from Pottery Barn and one from Restoration Hardware that has sold for $250+ on Ebay used. I definitely have the feeling pickers in my area don’t care about linens much.
43 for me this week.
Steve I’m so jealous. Rummage, school, and church sales are the best IMHO. We only have a handful here for the whole year.
