I think I might wait for 20 or so days to see if Ebay can get their shitake together and do first class.
Someone I follow on Youtube did a bulk edit and is seeing how that goes.
Total Items in Store: 802
Items Sold: 12
Cost of Items Sold: $92 (including a couple of items I originally bought for us but sold)
Total Sales: $530.00 Net: $321.55
Highest Price Sold: $95 (Small vintage painting)
Average price: $44.17

Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $145
Number of items listed this week: 42Made it over 800 listings for the first time. I’m organizing and labeling inventory as I go along. Have a bit more of that to do. Also have a few unlisted things that crept into listed boxes since I wanted to keep like items together. I think I have removed most of that. I think I have one more box to list before I finish the long garage wall. As for clearing the floor, well that will be a bit longer than I hoped. A stack of bankers boxes remains and no shelves left to put them on yet.
Fun story from the flea market this week. I don’t normally bother but I dug into the $1 clothing pile. I spotted a Garnet Hill flannel sheet set that retailed new for over $200. Ended up buying 22 items (mostly Garnet Hill bedding) for $22. Talked to the guy. He buys fabric items by the ton from one of our independent local thrift stores. Drives it around to markets as far as Las Vegas. Unfortunately what doesn’t sell he dumps in the landfill. He was really proud of his business and ability to buy the truck. He said he is banned from one of the other stores. Turns out the one he buys from is the one I don’t shop any longer because the college kids look everything up on the internet and they price to high for resellers. Seems to me they should rethink that with this guy getting pretty good items in this piles sometimes. Had another fun sourcing event that I will share in next week’s scavenge of the week.
Need to pick up my listing today. My daughter hopefully will get back into taking photos. At her behest, I bought a light box finally on the Amazon Prime Day sale.
I listed 42 items last week. Julie hope you are feeling better!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/235053280639 I had a hunch this would do well because it’s mushrooms, which is a thing for some vintage lovers. Glad I got the high price – bo of $95 I think it was. Sold surprisingly quickly too.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/235081873082 From the piles. This is like my favorite category of item to sell, so I put the obnoxious price on it.

I am seeing Parcel Select already updated to Consolidated Ground. So it looks like we may have to manually edit any first class listings. I don’t see a way to do that in bulk editing. (I don’t use business policies but maybe I’ll bite the bullet and do that now.)
I’m looking at a 6 oz item and the Ebay estimate for consolidated ground is higher than first class by up to $3. Ebay still has first class as an option as well.

Number of items listed this week: 42Sorry to hear about the slow week but I’m sure it’s not slow at your other businesses! Fun to hear about the growth of the coffee shop and I look forward to hearing the latest news.
This week sales started out well with a multi-item buyer from beautiful Tiburon, CA, but then really fell off into oblivion. I’ve been listing a lot and it’s paying off to some degree. My daughter is helping with photos and is a real perfectionist so they look great but she’s hopefully going to get faster as well. She wants to create an Instagram page for my best listings. We’ll see if her interest continues. Right now I have a bunch of drafts backed up that need photos. Didn’t get the garage floor cleared yet but I’m almost done doing listings for the last of side one of the garage! This week I worked a box of Scandinavian glass, yet another box of rookie coffee mugs, and finally tackled some dreaded bedding. Found 5 or 6 damaged items – sheesh.
I forgot to report last week on the College sale. It was fun but the lady who checked me out this year wanted to count up everything, instead of doing $20 for a huge bag. Still a great deal, not much for resale and mainly household stuff we can use.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/235070168544 Scavenge of the week was an RA find. Bought nine of these Christmas plates for under $4 apiece and they should do well.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/235069063435 Sale of the week was a rich lady who bought 5 pillows from me for $280 plus shipping. It was a laborious process to get done with her but she left me awesome feedback “nicest seller on Ebay” already and 5 big pillows out of my storage area is something to celebrate for sure. These are RA so I paid up a bit on clearance for them.
43 for me. I have more in the queue but my daughter has taken an interest in taking pictures for me again. She did a few today, but I the others had to wait until she had fun with her friends over the weekend. Should be a good week for me this week, knock wood.
I’m hoping there are a lot of other sellers refusing to do promoted or doing 1 or 2%. I’m at 4%, the minimum I think you need to pay to play.
Thanks Craig. I’m embarrassed to admit it but I got a little junk drunk in the beginning and a lot of this low dollar stuff is things I wouldn’t buy now. I’m listing purchases going back to 2014 even. Not much if it makes any sense to lot up. If I don’t love it I price it lower or put minimum offer low. Last week I listed and sold a Goodyear mug right away so go figure. There were plenty others online too. I can’t wait to get through the junk.
Nope but I’m guessing kids’ curtains maybe.

Number of items listed this week: 41I can’t wait to hear about what you two have been up to R&J. Glad you will share soon. I have a guess, but will keep it to myself again this time.
So, it was actually a good week on Ebay. For once I’ve been listing quite regularly and it helped. I also did that sell similar on older listings last week and have been able to make quite a few offers since then.
I’m closing in on 800 listings for the first time. On the downside, quite a few lower dollar items are going into the pipeline. I didn’t create death piles yet for myself, so some of the piles are good stuff but a lot of it is not exciting. Still working my way through the second half of the first side of the garage. Getting closer to completing that and did some more organizing this week. On the other garage wall is some of my piles and also some stuff from my parents’ house to be listed.
I’m taking my daughter on a trip this summer that is very expensive so we are being really frugal and eating at home a lot.
I did do a bit of RA scavenging at the 4th of July sales yesterday and today. Despite everyone tightening their belts, I’m still struggling to get items as cheap as I like to get them at my favorite 3 retailers. I did spend about $150 I believe and got 19 great items I’m very confident about selling.
@Retro how fun! Happy for you.
This is not earth shattering but I thought these dishes were super cool. I’m guessing they are just butter dishes since they are so small. I don’t eat lobster. I couldn’t find anything remotely similar on the web, so I priced them high with best offer.

This item is from the piles and I had a hard time pricing. I found any number of these listed and sold, priced all over the place and some claiming (dubiously in some cases) to be real brass or antique. I think mine is just pot metal, probably Midcentury and it’s not marked. I’m just throwing it out at this price with best offer hoping someone likes the face and patina. It is heavy.
